Breaking Through My Own Attachments and Speaking Out in the Fa-rectification

"For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification." ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

As a Falun Gong practitioner, striving to do the three things well, practicing and cultivating Dafa in Fa-rectification, I focused on distributing truth-clarifying flyers and posting Dafa posters, as well as on rescuing all sentient beings with compassion. I overcame the mentality of fear and of having to get things done, which was common for an ordinary person. I also tried to cultivate myself well. However, I could not clarify the truth face-to-face for a long time because I was hesitant and had the mentality of fear. After studying Master's lecture "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference," I was deeply touched.

Master said,

"Also, with those people that you run into by chance, who you run into in daily life, and the people you run into at work, you should all clarify the truth to them. Even when in your daily life you pass by people so quickly that you don't have a chance to talk to them, you should still leave them with your compassion and kindness. Don't lose those who should be saved, especially those with predestined connections." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference")

After studying Master's teaching, I felt ashamed. For several years, except for my close relatives, I had clarified the truth face-to-face to very few people. It was difficult to overcome my fears and actively clarify the truth. Such an incorrect state of mind became a roadblock for clarifying the truth and saving lives. Therefore, I made up my mind to overcome this limitation.

After the 2004 Chinese New Year, I forced myself to speak out, beginning in an environment I was familiar with. I started clarifying the truth to retired teachers and their family members. During this Fa-rectification, I paid attention to studying the Fa first, and then repeatedly reading Master's related articles. I realized that methods used to clarify the facts face-to-face to different people could vary based on different personalities, and should include telling people about the persecution. For a period of time, I clarified the truth face-to-face to a dozen people. As a result, they started noticing the evil persecution conducted by the Jiang regime and started resolving their misunderstandings and bias against Falun Dafa.

Master's new article "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People," was published on September 1, 2004. I was again deeply touched, and felt like I fell far short of Master's requirements. Master asked us in the new article,

"Each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people." ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

A month later, I traveled to seven villages and visited my old classmates, colleagues, and relatives. Some of them used to practice Falun Gong but stopped after July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, and some of them practiced at home due to fear of practicing in public. For each individual, I spent a lot of time with him/her, usually about two to three hours, and sometimes even longer. Together, I clarified the truth to about 20 people, with good results from most of them. Most of them realized that Falun Gong is good and that the persecution is wrong. Some of their concerns were resolved, and a few individuals expressed the desire to learn and practice Falun Gong.

I am determined to let go of ordinary human attachments and to do the three things well. With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, I will continue on the path of Fa-rectification cultivation as arranged by our Master, and will be worthy of Master's compassionate salvation.
