Japan: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Anti-Torture Exhibit in Omiya (Photos)
By Falun Gong practitioners in Japan
(Clearwisdom.net) On January 15-16, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners
held a two-day anti-torture exhibit in Omiya, Saitama-ken, north of Tokyo to
help more people learn about the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong, which
has lasted over five years. This was the first time practitioners held an anti-torture
exhibit in this area to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. When local
practitioners wanted to apply for permission but did not know how to go about
it, the local police offered their assistance. With help from the local police,
the anti-torture exhibit was successfully held at a location between the railway
station and a busy shopping center in Omiya, where there is a huge flow of
people. Two groups of practitioners reenacted the torture scenes taking place in
China. Some practitioners held a banner reading, "This torture is happening
in China." Truth clarification photos were hung at several locations by the
roadside, and many passersby slowed down to find out what was happening.
Practitioners who distributed informational materials also answered people's
questions, telling them about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in
China. A high school student from Ibaraki-ken looked at the
photos of Falun Gong practitioners with blood all over their bodies after being
tortured. He was shocked and angry. This was the first time he'd heard about the
persecution. He said, "May I have some newspapers? I have many friends and
classmates, and I want to give the newspapers to them, so they will also know
about this. I love China very much, and cannot tolerate such torture."
After accepting the newspapers, he kept saying, "Thank you." He also
signed the petition to support the lawsuit against Jiang. The anti-torture exhibit touched people's hearts and provided an opportunity
for many people to learn about the Jiang regime's atrocities against Falun Gong.
They expressed the hope that the persecution will end soon. |
