My name is Zhang Yunxia, and I am 67 years old. In 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. After I returned home, people from the Hongfang Neighborhood Administration Office of Diaobingshang Town confiscated my ID and my house title, and extorted 1000 yuan, which has not been returned as of date. In July 2000, I was imprisoned for 15 days by Tiefa City Police Department for participating in a signature drive [for Falun Dafa]. In March 2001, I was again detained for 45 days by Tiefa City Police Department for what they called "disturbing social order." On October 29, 2001, I was illegally sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City for a three-year term. In the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, because I persisted in practicing Falun Gong, I was separated from other Falun Gong practitioners and was put under a long-term constraint. I was handcuffed at all times, deprived of sleep, and was given only corn bread to eat. I suffered inhumane torture for more than five months. In 2002, the labor camp began a rigorous campaign to have Falun Gong practitioners renounce Falun Gong. In May 2003, a police team head named Huang locked me up in a small cell (1) with my hands and feet cuffed, and he assigned someone to watch and deprive me of sleep. Through years of torture at the labor camp, I developed, among other diseases, glaucoma and coronary disease. In February 2004, to avoid having to accept responsibility for my health problems, the labor camp authority released me.

Ms. Zhu Xianzhi, a Falun Gong practitioner from Tangsengsi Village, Goushi Township, Yanshi City, Henan Province, went to Beijing on June 28, 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong. She was then detained in the Yanshi City Detention Center for 35 days. On September 28, 2004, in Baimiao Community of Zhengzhou City, Ms. Zhu was followed on the street by some plain clothed policemen. They later arrested her in a phone booth in Baimiao Village and took her to a local detention center. In the detention center, guard Wang Zhixuan and instructor Xu Yaobiao beat Ms. Zhu and cuffed her with heavy handcuffs and large foot shackles that weighed over a dozen pounds. They made her sleep scantly dressed in a cold cell and did not give her any quilts or blankets. Ms. Zhu went on a hunger strike, refusing food or water, to protest the torture. One day, instructor Xu whipped Ms. Zhu 10 times with a leather whip twined with iron wire, and 4 times the next day. She was treated in this manner four times while in the detention center; she was almost beaten to death. In an attempt to force-feed her, some detention officers dislocated her jaw.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Qiaohong lives in Yanshi City Chemical Fertilizer Factory. On February 21, 2004 she and Ms. Cao Mengcai, another practitioner, drove to Silibei Village, Yanshi City to distribute Falun Gong truth clarification flyers. They were reported to the police. On February 25, Yanshi Police Department National Security Section officers Wang Weiwei and Zhang Liwei took Ms. Li and her car to the police station. Zhang Liwei and officer Chang Bing interrogated Ms. Li through brutal torture, and obtained Cao Mengcai's name. Ms. Li Qiaohong was thus under criminal detention by the police on February 28, and officially arrested on March 30. She was sentenced to three years in prison for what they called "producing Falun Gong material."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cao Mengcai, female, 37 years old, is a teacher in the No. 2 Elementary School in Yanshi City. Around 10 am on February 27, 2004, Yanshi Police Department National Security Section officers Zhang Ruijun, Zhang Liwei, Yang Xiaomin, and Chang Bing arrested and took her to the Yanshi City Police Department. Zhang Liwei and Chang Bing interrogated her through brutal torture. They slapped her face, and pulled out much of her hair. After the torture, Ms. Cao lost feeling in her hands and could not take care of her bodily needs.

On May 11 and June 15, police Zhang Ruijun and Zhang Liwei brought twice unsubstantiated charges against Ms. Cao. On July 7, Procuratorate staff Pan Fengqiao and Zhan Xianghong initiated a public trial against Ms. Cao. Not surprisingly, the final judgment doesn't indicate an opinion or even the name of the counsel for the defence.

Ms. Zhao Xiaoli and her aunt, Ms. Zhao Suzhen, are Falun Dafa practitioners from Xinxiang City, Henan Province. They are currently held in Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. They went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Therefore, they suffered even greater torture. Now both women are very weak and emaciated - Zhao Suzhen can barely walk, and young Zhao Xiaoli has high blood pressure and was once close to death. Prisoners Wang Xiaohua and Li Hong slapped their faces, and forced them to take cold water showers, etc. Falun Dafa practitioners please send forth righteous thoughts to clean evil factors and rescue our fellow practitioners.

My name is Wu Jun. On April 25, 2000, while detained in the Fengtai District Detention Center in Beijing, I went on a hunger strike. I refused food or water to protest my illegal detention. Seven days later, I was force-fed in a manner that made it hard to breathe. I was sent to a hospital to receive intravenous injection and returned to the detention center a week later. On June 1 the same year, I was unlawfully sentenced to so-called "Labor Reeducation," and taken to the Beijing Labor Reeducation Dispatching Office. Every male Falun Gong practitioner was shocked with electric batons on arrival. The slightest indication of disobedience could result in electric shock on any body part. On July 7, I was sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, which was even viler. New arrivals who refused to renounce Falun Dafa were forced to squat down (namely squat down with a leg in the front of another and both hands on the knees) for long hours.

Ms. Tang Xuemei, female, in her 60's, lives in the Provincial Government Residential Compound in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. In October, Tang Xuemei was caught distributing Falun Gong flyers and detained. She has not been released yet.

Nanchang City female Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Huilian was arrested a couple of months ago because of distributing Falun Gong flyers. She most likely is detained in a detention center at this time.

According to information, on October 24, many Falun Gong practitioners who practiced at home in Fuzhu City were arrested. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaohong, female, born in 1959, lives with her 16-year old daughter. She was sentenced to a year in a forced labor camp; her daughter is without a guardian or income.

(1) Locked up in a small cell -- The detainee is locked up in a solitary cell, which contains a basin and a pair of handcuffs. The basin is used both for face washing and relieving the urine and bowels. One end of the handcuffs fastens the wrist and the other end attaches to the door railing. The handcuffs can be fastened onto the door railing at three different heights. In the highest position, the detainee has to extend his/her arm upward. The middle position is at waist level. In the lowest position, the detainee can sit on the ground.
