Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bai Suzhen was arrested on December 8, 2004. Later she showed symptoms of high blood pressure and was sent to the First Hospital in Guangzhou City for a physical examination. Afterwards she was allowed to go home. The police came to search and ransack her home after she got home. A few days later Ms. Bai Suzhen was arrested again. She again showed symptoms of high blood pressure. After she was sent to the hospital, no one on the outside has since known her whereabouts.

Bai Suzhen is in her seventies and was not in good condition after her arrest. Her work unit staff went to the local 610 Office to demand her release; but the 610 Office personnel refused their request.

On December 22, 2004, police arrested Ms. Wang Lihua, a native of Dawa County, Panjin City, Liaoning Province, when she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification material in the Jinrong residential community in Dawa Township. She was held at the Dawa County Detention Center. At five o'clock that same day, eight officers from the Xingshun Police Station went to Wang Lihua's home to search and confiscate Falun Gong books and truth-clarification material. One of the policemen is Du Zhonglin. They even took Wang Lihua's husband, Yuan Shumao, who was not yet a practitioner to Dawa County Detention Center. Their family members tried to beg higher authorities to release Wang and her husband by giving them money. Yuan Shumao was released, however Wang Lihua is currently held at the Third Police Station in Panjin City. The police strictly block information related to her and forbid her family from visiting her.

Ms. Li Zhiling had been incarcerated in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp from July 20, 1999 until November 6, 2004. When she was finally released from the labor camp on November 6, 2004, one of her family members had to carry her on the back to get her home. She was reduced to a skeleton and was unable to take care of herself. She had suffered from tremendous physical and mental torture. Before she was able to recover completely, some thirty people from the 610 Office, the police station and Street Administration Office forcibly took her to a brainwashing class located at Xinglong Mountain, Changchun City. The persecutors disregarded the elderly parents' desperate plea and the fact that Li Zhiling's life is in danger. As of January 16, 2005, Li Zhiling has been on hunger strike for five days.

Practitioner Ms. He Guilan was arrested from her home on April 27, 2004. She had been incarcerated in a secret brainwashing center in the Fengtai District, Beijing. In December 2004, they held a secret trial and sentenced her to five years of imprisonment. She is currently incarcerated in an unknown prison in the Changping District, Beijing.

On January 14, 2005, practitioner Kong Shuzhen from Harbin City was distributing truth-clarification material in the vicinity of Jianguo Park in the Daoli District. Officers from the Iron Police Station spotted her and arrested her. She was sent to the Yaziquan Detention Center in Guxiang.

Recently, Falun Gong practitioners Ma Xueyan and Yang Wenying from Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province were arrested and had their homes ransacked by spies from a local state security organ and staff from the 610 Office for clarifying the truth and distributing truth-clarification material.

On January 14, 2005, Ms. Zhao Chunying, in her fifties, was clarifying the truth in the Qianfoshan District, Jinan City. Officers from the Qianfoshan Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home.

Around 3:00 p.m. on January 3, 2005, officers from Fuyuan County's Police Department and from the Haiqing Police Station in Fuyuan County broke into and ransacked Cai De'an and Liu Wenyong's homes. Cai De'an and Liu Wenyong were arrested. They are currently being held at the Fuyuan County Detention Center; the police plan to sentence them to forced labor. Liu Wenyong's wife is also a Falun Gong practitioner. The police are searching for her everywhere. The police are monitoring all of Liu's relatives' houses.

On the evening of January 13, 2005, practitioner Mr. Wang Shiming, 27 years old, from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by officers from the Xinzhaizi Police Station in Dalian City. In the morning on January 14, he was transferred to the Yaojia Detention Center. He is currently on a hunger strike.

Around 10:00 a.m. on November 17, 2004, officers from the Yufengli Police Station in the Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City forcibly arrested practitioner Jiang Shuqin from her home. The police also searched her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other things. A few days later, Jiang Shuqin's family members went to the security division at Jiang's work unit and asked the personnel there why Jiang was arrested. The personnel at the security division replied, "It was an order from above. They need to arrest her to meet the quota."

Recently, practitioner Ms. Cong Peixi from Yangpu District in Shanghai clarified the truth to one of her former colleagues and gave him some truth-clarifying material. Her colleague reported Cong Peixi to the supervisors and turned in the material. Cong Peoxi was thus arrested again and sentenced to one year of forced labor for a second time. Cong Peixi had previously endured two years of forced labor in the Women's Forced Labor Camp of Qingpu District in Shanghai, between 2001 and 2003.

On January 5, 2001, four practitioners from Daiyue District, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, Zhang Fuxin, Xu Xinglu and Zhang Fuxin's son were arrested. The perpetrators were police from Feicheng City. This happened as the practitioners were distributing truth-clarification material. They are currently being held at the Feicheng Detention Center.

On January 9, 2005, practitioners Hu Kui and his wife, an elderly couple from Wenquan Village, Wenquan Town, Haidian District, Beijing City were distributing truth-clarification material in the evening. Security staff from the village reported them to the police. They were held at the Wenquan Police Station for two days and then released. The next day they were arrested again and sent to the Nuclear Industry Training Center brainwashing class in Sujiatuo Town, the Haidian District, Beijing.

Mr. Zhang Liantao is a practitioner in the Xinchengzi District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He is a forest ranger for the Magang Forestry Center. On January 12, 2005, when he was distributing truth clarification material in the forest park during the daytime, police arrested him. So far, his whereabouts are unknown.
