(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Mid-Taiwan held an
Anti-Torture Exhibition in Fengle Statue Park on Freedom Day, January23, 2005.
Their exhibition called for attention to the human right violations targeting
Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Taichung Councilman Mr. Liu Shizhou said, "I have been to many Falun
Gong practitioners' activities. But I learned a clearer picture of the brutal
persecution in China through today's anti-torture exhibition. It is very
significant for overseas Falun Gong practitioners to hold such activities. They
have exposed the covered-up brutality of the Chinese Communist Party and made it
possible for the whole society to condemn the CCP, to pay attention to the human
right in China and help relief the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in
China."

Another Taichung City Councilman Mr. Zeng Zhaorong said, "I am deeply
saddened to see the torture demonstration. Falun Gong teaches people how to
improve their health and their hearts. But such a group of kind people are under
brutal persecution. On the Freedom day, Falun Gong practitioners have taught us
a lesson on how China (Jiang's regime) has trampled on human rights."
Many people stopped by to see the torture and photo exhibitions. Some
frowned. Some were in tears. Mr. Chen said, "It is hard to imagine such
terrible tortures are still used in the 21st century, especially on
such a group of nice people like Falun Gong practitioners. The torture executors
will be punished." Many people asked how they could help Falun Gong
practitioner and signed their names in support of the anti-persecution efforts.
Respect for Life and Human Rights
Respect for human rights is a universal value around the world. Everyone
should stand up for them. However, serious prisoner abuse in Chinese forced
labor camps hasn't been taken seriously as it should. Hundreds of thousands of
Falun Gong practitioners have been illegally detained and badly and secretively
tortured. At least 1290 practitioners have died as a result of persecution.
Because of the dictatorship and terrorism of Jiang's regime, no media in China
dare to expose the evil torture. Very few people dare to say a fair word for
life, human right and justice.
Each of the torture methods demonstrated at the exhibition was terrible.
However, it was only a tiny part of what is happing in Chinese forced labor
camps. Facing the appalling tortures, Falun Gong practitioners remain steadfast
in their belief. As Falun Gong practitioners continue their truth-clarification,
more and more people will step out for justice and make effort to stop the
persecution. Those who committed crimes will be punished by law.
