(Clearwisdom.net) The lawless officials from the Iron and Steel Complex District of Laiwu City, Shandong Province and the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex have inhumanly tortured Falun Dafa practitioners in recent years. The 610 Office of the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex forced the six months pregnant Jiao Fangyu to have an abortion and then continued to persecute her by sending her to a brainwashing center. Ms. Jiao was a translator in the Complex's Foreign Economic Relations Department. The Commerce Company also forced Ms. Ren Xiuying's husband to divorce her by threatening to take back their house, simply because Ms. Ren refused to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Shang Qingling and Ms. Bai Shihua were tortured to death.

The following are details of these abuses and others perpetrated against Falun Gong practitioners by the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Shang Qingling was from Chayu Village, Iron and Steel Complex District, Laiwu City. The villagers all said that he was an outstanding young man. Mr. Shang went to Beijing to appeal for the injustice he had experienced as a Falun Gong practitioner. At midday one day in December 2000, the local police abducted him and took him to the Laiwu Detention Center. Shang Qingling went on a hunger strike to protest. Several days later the prison guards barbarically force-fed him. They instructed five or six criminal inmates to hold Mr. Shang's four limbs and head, pinch his nose shut and then pour a full kettle of corn gruel down his throat very quickly. Because Mr. Shang's nose was stopped, he was unable to swallow at all. The gruel was all over his face, neck and ears. Some of the gruel finally went down his windpipe and into his lungs. Mr. Shang struggled for air. The criminals slapped his face with all their strength while continuing to pour the gruel down, until Mr. Shang's face turned purple. They only stopped when Mr. Shang choked a few times. The depraved prison guards conducted this kind of barbaric forced feeding several times. They even force-fed Mr. Shang with human excrement, which injured him really badly. Mr. Shang kept coughing and was on the verge of death.

Before the 2001 Chinese New Year, when the prison guards at the detention center found that Mr. Shang was dying, they released him. At that time his lungs were already infected and festering. His family sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment. The doctor drew 1000 ml. of pus and blood from his lungs with a syringe. Mr. Shang Qingling died on February 1, 2001, after the emergency treatment failed. He left behind a wife and a son, with no one to care for them.

At the same time, the Laiwu Detention Center also tortured Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ma Qingxian from Xianrenqiao, Huangzhuang Township in the same manner. Ms. Ma was released after having been detained for more than 20 days. However, just a few months after her release, she was persecuted again, so Ms. Ma Qingxian had no choice but to leave home and become homeless in order to avoid being arrested and persecuted.

In 2001, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiao Fangyu, a translator for the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex, was forced to flee home to avoid being taken to a brainwashing center. However, two months later she was taken back from Zibo City by the perpetrators. At that time, she was four months pregnant. The perpetrators locked her up in the Police Department of the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex. Two months later, the 610 Office of the Complex forced her to have an abortion but did not allow her to go home to recover.

During her four-month detention, Ms. Jiao Fangyu was locked up all by herself in a cell at the police department, which was manned with all male policemen. Her body was weak because of the abortion. Because of the pain of losing her unborn son and the loneliness of being separated from the outside world, she went into a state of depression. Despite her condition, some lawless officials still sentenced her to three years at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. Succumbing to brainwashing, she lost her kind nature and helped the policemen to torture other people.

In 2003, Ms. Jiao Fangyu was released when her term of forced labor expired, and she went back to work at the Foreign Economic Relations Department. Deputy Head of the Department Wang Shaoqiang forced her to sign a labor contract, which contained clauses slandering Falun Dafa. Ms. Jiao refused. Then Wang threatened to send her to the police department or the 610 Office and terminate the labor contract. Ms. Jiao had no choice but to go to other parts of the country to do manual labor to earn a living.

During the 2000 Chinese New Year, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Yanchun from an enterprise affiliated with the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex, and Ms. Yu Luping from the Reception Department, were illegally detained by the Complex' Police Department and suffered from inhuman treatment. They did not have a bed to sleep on for nearly half a year. In winter, they were locked up in a stone house, which was extremely cold and damp and without heating. They did not have enough to eat and were unable to change clothes. They were only given two meals a day. Each meal consisted of only one very small steamed bun and two to three spoonfuls of various side dishes (sometimes there were no side dishes at all). In spite of this, they had to pay the equivalent of ten dollars a day for the food.

Ms. Song Yanchun and Ms. Yu Luping were forced to sit still from morning until evening in a very small area inside the on-duty room of the police department. They sat there for several months. They were not allowed to move around and could not sleep properly. Ms. Song Yanchun, who had been very tall and strong, was reduced to skin and bones in a matter of only a few days. Her face was very pale and she was almost unrecognizable. Every time her father came to visit her, he did not have the heart to go in to see his daughter, but instead he walked around other rooms and learned news about her that way. On his return home, the old couple would cry on each other's shoulders.

The police limited the practitioners' time to use the toilet to once every eight hours. Over a period of time, Yu Luping suffered from edema in her legs, often felt congested in her chest and would easily be out of breath, and her kidney function was seriously damaged. The torture, which lasted for about half a year, seriously damaged the health of Ms. Song and Ms. Yu.

Ms. Song Yanchun's father went to see Jiao Yuqi, the director of the Political and Security Section of Yinshan Police Department, and asked him to counter the higher authorities' instructions in detaining them. Jiao promised he would look into it and told Ms. Song's father that he did not know about this case. However, the two practitioners are still suffering from inhuman torture.

When Falun Dafa practitioners from the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex learned the news about Ms. Song and Ms. Yu, they submitted a joint letter calling for improving their fellow practitioners' living conditions and solemnly declared that if this order was not withdrawn and the persecution of the workers not stopped, all the Falun Gong practitioners would go to Beijing to appeal. The letter was handed to Jiao Yuqi, but he withheld it and did not hand it in. Practitioners from the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex had no choice, and went to peacefully appeal.

After some practitioners who went to petition for Falun Dafa were brought back to the police department, policewoman Li Li forced all the female Falun Dafa practitioners to strip off all their clothes and then stand still for nearly two hours. The male Falun Dafa practitioners were not spared either. The policemen beat the practitioners with rubber clubs and slapped their faces. Each of the practitioners was slapped at least 40 times and their faces were all out of shape. Dafa practitioner Bai Shihua from the Steel Plant was sent to the brainwashing center many times. After standing naked for nearly two hours, other practitioners were all allowed to put their clothes back on, but she was forced to stand alone for another hour or more. All this abuse caused her serious psychological trauma. She was depressed and did not say a word for a long period of time, and gradually she suffered a mental collapse. She eventually died as a result of abuse and torture.

Whenever they were hounding someone to death, the lawless officials of the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex would remain silent and pretend that nothing had ever happened. Instead, they would give enormous publicity to the lies fabricated by the Chinese Central Television Station (CCTV). During this persecution, Zhang Canguo, Jiao Yuqi, Zhang Wende, Liu Peisheng, Li Li and Zhou Minggang have committed all kinds of evil acts against practitioners.

When Jiao Yuqi and Li Li's evil acts were exposed on Clearwisdom.net, they were very scared. Li Li dared not step out of her house because she was afraid of meeting with karmic retribution.

In the autumn of 1999, Wang Dexian and his son were abducted at the same time and sent to the Guest House of the Iron and Steel Complex. The police and the 610 Office arranged a group of people to take turns guarding them. Because the windows and the door of the isolated room were all tightly shut, the cigarette smoke from the guards was thick and choking. Every day from morning until evening, the two practitioners were forced to watch TV programs that slandered Falun Dafa, and the volume of the television was turned all the way up. They were denied sleep for more than ten days. Whenever they could not stay awake and dozed off, the policemen would wake them up and try to force them to write the "Three statements." During the cruel torture, the father and son suffered serious mental injuries. However, policeman Qi Jianhua said that their orders from above allowed them to resort to anything, so long as they could force the two to renounce Falun Gong.

The tortures the father and son suffered were beyond description. They were released more than one month later. However, the persecution did not stop there.

In the summer of 2001, the director of the Reception Department, Sun Dongsheng, collaborated with Jiao Yuqi to lead a dozen policemen to Mr. Wang Dexian's home. They tricked the father and the son to open the door and then carried the two by their arms and legs and threw them into the police car like gunnysacks. The father and the son were sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp wearing only shorts and slippers.

Ms. Zhang Aiyun, an employee of the hospital of the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex, was diagnosed as having a heart problem, so the forced labor camp refused to take her in. However, Jiao Yuqi forced her to stay at the labor camp to undergo brainwashing. As a result, Ms. Zhang Aiyun suffered from several heart attacks and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The forced labor camp did not dare to keep her, so they urged the complex to take her back. Zhou Minggang and several others went to the hospital but refused to take Ms. Zhang back. Ms. Zhang was bedridden and was only taken back to her work unit after being detained for more than five months. However, the perpetrators did not allow her to go back home, but locked her up at her work unit for four more months. This is a typical example of how the perpetrators do not stop persecuting practitioners, even when they have serious illnesses.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Luping failed her medical exam at the labor camp, so the forced labor camp refused to take her in. However, Jiao Yuqi forced her to be accepted into the labor camp anyway, after he contacted the complex. Because of the adverse living conditions and the persecution in the forced labor camp, Ms. Yu's heart, liver and intestines were all seriously damaged. She showed symptoms of life threatening kidney failure. Ms. Yu was forced to sit on a small campstool for more than ten hours a day, which led to the stiffening of all her joints and injury to her spine. She had difficulty in walking and all her hair turned gray. To avoid having to take the responsibility for her serious condition, the forced labor camp sent Ms. Yu to the hospital and informed the Laiwu Iron and Steel Complex to pick her up. However, it took almost a year before she was taken back home. All this abuse seriously affected her mind. She often suffered from being disoriented and from memory loss, but the deputy heads of the Reception Department, Jiang Jiwen and Sun Dongsheng, and the head of the 610 Office, Zhu Chengfu, continued to harass her and to force her to write confessions. They also threatened to discharge Yu Luping from public employment or not to reinstall her employment. This aggravated her mental state. As a result, there were times when Ms. Yu could not take care of herself. At this time, Ms. Zhang Aiyun and Ms. Yu Luping have been assigned to posts that have nothing to do with their professions.
