Zhang Lei

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Zhang Lei, obtained a Ph.D. degree in Finance from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. At the end of November 1999, he was arrested at Tiananmen Square while practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, and detained in the University Security Compound. He died in a fall from a building on December 16, 1999. The details are being investigated.

Dr. Zhang Lei wan born on July 12, 1967. He started practicing Falun Dafa in May 1998. He joined the April 25, 1999 peaceful appeal at Zhongnanhai. After the persecution of Falun Dafa began in July of 1999, Zhang Lei went to Tiananmen Square to protest by doing Falun Dafa exercises with a copy of Zhuan Falun in his pocket. He was arrested by police, and had his book confiscated. Police sent him back to be detained in the University Security Compound, where he died in a fall from a building on December 16, 1999.

Mr. Shao Mingxue obtained a Post Doctorate degree from Beijing Normal University in October 2000. He was assigned to work at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Because he practiced Falun Dafa, the University wanted to dismiss him from the job immediately after all employment procedures were complete. In February 2001, the police from the State Security Team abducted him from his home by force.

After the Tiananmen "Self-immolation" incident occurred, the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics had all notice and information boards, both in the educational buildings and in the dorm areas, posted with "Self-immolation" incident photos and words slandering Falun Dafa. Each day around noon on the school broadcasting system, material was read that slandered Falun Dafa and Master Li. The University established a rule that anyone reporting or abducting a Falun Dafa practitioner who was passing out truth clarifying materials would receive a one thousand yuan reward. All residential Assistants and copy center managers were told that they must report Falun Dafa practitioners. If Falun Dafa flyers or literature were found in any building, the residential Assistant would be punished by reducing his bonus pay.
