Australia: "Uncompromising Courage" Art Exhibit Held in Queensland (Photos)
By Falun Gong practitioners in Queensland, Australia
(Clearwisdom.net) Beginning on January 10, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners
have hosted the "Uncompromising Courage" art exhibit in Brisbane
Library in Queensland and in the business areas in Gold Coast, to expose the
brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China and to display the Falun Gong
practitioners' uncompromising courage in the face of the persecution. On January 22, 2005, the first open-air art exhibit was held at King George
Square in front of the Brisbane City Hall. Many people passing by stopped to
view the exhibit. The first open-air art exhibit held at King George Square in
Australia attracted many passers-by Margery from Sun Coast said, after looking at these oil paintings, "The
paintings are very sorrowful. When I read the stories attached to these
paintings, I know what is happening in China. This is a group of people who has
been deprived of freedom and human rights." Harry, a man from India who has lived in Australia for over 30 years, stood
in front of the painting named, "Why" for a long time. He said he felt
very upset that children in China are so mistreated. He felt that the Australian
government should try to do more to help them, now that they know the situation. A woman from Poland expressed that in the paintings she saw that people
struggle to survive under the influence of Communist Party. Life is full of
uncertain elements. The paintings reminded her of the pain she experienced in
Poland before, when the Communist Party ruled the country. Susie from Gold Coast said, "I believe God has led me here to see the
Falun Dafa Art Exhibit. When I saw the painting named 'A Tragedy in China,' it
touched my heart. I felt like crying. In the painting I saw a woman weeping
while sitting by her husband, who was tortured to death, and I felt the same
pain. I want to buy the painting and hang it at home." Some works in the art exhibit faithfully express the facts of the
persecution, and the uncompromising courage of the practitioners. Some works
present the situation of "The Buddha Fa illuminates Heaven and Earth,"
and are very peaceful and harmonious. Other works convey the principle that
"Good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with karmic
retribution." The truth about Falun Gong has deeply touched people's hearts through the
visual medium of art, and the conscience and kindness of the visitors have been
awakened. Margery expressed, "How can we stop the persecution in China? We
should learn about the truth and tell our friends, tell more people and expose
the facts to people throughout the world." Many visitors signed the petition to express their support for Falun Gong
practitioners. The art exhibit will be held one more time on Friday, January 28,
at King George Square. |
