Ms. Hao Qiuyan Sent to Shenghui Brainwashing Center in Hebei Province for Appealing for Her Husband, Huang Wei

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of January 18, 2005, Ms. Hao Qiuyan was arrested by police officers from the Hedong Police Station, Shijiazhuang City, and sent to the Shenghui Brainwashing Center of Hebei Province that afternoon. Police said they arrested Ms. Hao because she had been "actively appealing everywhere (for the injustice done to her husband)." This left Huang Wei's 80-year-old parents and their 5-year-old child alone at home.

Hao Qiuyan is the wife of Falun Dafa practitioner Huang Wei. She has been proactively appealing for redress of the injustice done to her husband. Gao Zhicheng, an attorney from the Chengzhi Attorney's Office in Beijing, is representing Huang Wei. On December 27, 2004, three lower and higher courts refused to accept the appeal application. Now, Mr. Gao is mailing the appeal applications. Unfortunately, he has not received any reply as of this date. Gao Zhicheng is the first lawyer to represent a Falun Gong practitioner in China. His courageous action has been praised and supported by many sympathetic people inside and outside of China.

It is known that the Hedong Street Office is an active participant in the persecution of Ms. Hao Qiuyan. The street office even paid over 10,000 yuan in fees, attempting to brainwash her.
