Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guan Xingxian is in his 50's. He is a worker at the Machine Repair Factory of the Songjianghe Forestry Bureau in Fusong County, Jilin Province. He was arrested by the Songjianghe Town Police Department at the beginning of 2003 for practicing Falun Gong, and then subjected to brutal tortures. The police covered his head with several plastic bags multiple times to suffocate him. Later Mr. Guan was abducted and taken to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

In November 2004, Mr. Guan was tormented to the point that he needed two people to support him by the arms while using the toilet. In January 2005 he became disabled from severe torture. Chinese Forced Labor regulations state that anyone in his condition should be released immediately, and according to related administrative laws, the responsible guards should be held accountable and should compensate Mr. Guan financially. However, so far the authorities have refused to release him.

Since the arrest of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Meng Lijun on December 20, 2004, she has been detained at the Tianqiao District Police Department in Jinan City. She was later held at a police station and eventually transferred to the city's Liuchangshan Detention Center. Ms. Meng has protested the illegal arrest with two hunger strikes but was subjected to the Death Bed torture (called "Dragon Bed" in prison). Within one hour of this torture, one would be unable to bear the pain racking the entire body. Meng Lijun was tormented for six hours the first time, and as long as 24 hours the second time. All her bodily discharges were left on the bed. Moreover, during the process, Ms. Meng suffered savage force-feeding. With the assistance from eight inmates, the police force-fed her and sprayed unknown drugs into her mouth. Many of these people took turns forcibly feeding her. The feeding tube was full of black blood, yet they still did not stop the torture. Also, they raised the tube so that the food went directly into Ms. Meng's lungs, causing her breathing difficulties. Only when Ms. Meng was almost dead did they stop. Meng Lijun's two hunger strikes lasted ten days.

Later, after a medical consultation, they claimed that Ms. Meng's mind was unclear (her body had become extremely emaciated) and might result in a vegetative state. Therefore, after extorting some money from her family, the police released Meng Lijun on January 7.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Li from Daqing City was sentenced to five years of imprisonment and jailed at the Harbin Women's Prison in Heilongjiang Province. Due to long-term brutal persecution from the police, she has developed high blood pressure, heart disease, and other illnesses. She also lost one of her teeth. Ms. Liu is unable to walk, yet the prison withheld this information from her family.

Practitioner Mr. Bian Fusheng is in his 70s. In August 2004 he went to Xiaoling Town in Acheng City to distribute truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong and was arrested with his daughter Bian Yaping. Mr. Bian was sentenced to three years of imprisonment, but the prison refused to take him. He was instead incarcerated in Acheng Citys's No. 1 Detention Center. One day in December 2004 he was sent to the Acheng City Hospital emergency room for immediate care because he spit up a large quantity of blood. However, Bian Fusheng was soon taken to a brainwashing class in Hulan City.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Married Couple Mr. Pu Wansheng and Ms. Wang Shumin from Nangang District Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor

Practitioner Mr. Piao Wansheng is 34 years old and his wife, Ms. Wang Shumin is 40 years old. They live in Mingxing Village, Hongqi Township, Nangang District, Harbin City. On January 9, 2004, personnel from the Dongli branch of the Harbin Police Department ransacked their house. The couple was sentenced to three years of forced labor. At present, Mr. Piao is being detained at the city's Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp, and Ms. Wang is detained at the city's Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Their 15-year-old son was left home, unattended.

Practitioner Ms. Liang Biyan is in her 40s, and is from Nanning City, Guangxi Autonomous Region. On October 28, 2004, personnel from the National Security Team of the Nanning City Police Department arrested Ms. Liang and have held her in the city's No. 1 Detention Center since then. Liang Biyan has been on a hunger strike for over two months. She was sent to the Maoqiao Hospital.

On January 7, 2005, the court authorities held a trial for Ms. Liang, who was emaciated and in critical condition. The proceedings took place in a ward on the third floor of the Inpatient Department of the Maoqiao Hospital.

Practitioner Liang Shenping, who was also detained in the hospital, as well as practitioner Cai Junping, who was held in a detention center, were also parties to the trial. Because of Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts and righteous actions, heir lawyer's diligent defense, and all the practitioners outside of the hospital sending forth righteous thoughts together, the hearing didn't reach a verdict but concluded without achieving its purpose.

Practitioner Ms. Chen Shujie is a doctor in the obstetrics and gynecology department of Yushu City's Maternity and Child Care Hospital. In March 2003, she was arrested and held in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for one year. After her release, she went back to work. However, personnel from the city's 610 Office often harassed her. At around 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2005, Dr. Chen and several colleagues went to nearby townships to help provide medical care in a rural area, but 610 Office personnel followed them in a vehicle and abducted her when she was treating patients. Dr. Chen was put into Changchun City's Brainwashing Class.

On July 20, 1999, I was arrested and held in Yushu City's Detention Center. I was forced to do road construction work every day. I had to carry extremely heavy containers of soil. One time, warden Sun Zhifu filled a bag with soil and forced me to carry it. I managed to lift it up, but I almost fell down in the process. Fortunately, a fellow practitioner helped me. Later, I was sent to build a fishpond where I had to carry heavy bags of mud.

Warden Sun Zhifu and Gao Yong are very vicious. They forced practitioners to carry more bags and to run faster. As for a steadfast practitioner, the wardens would grab him, take him to a separate cell and secretly beat him. As of October 1, 1999, more than 150 practitioners were held there.

In 2000, after I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, the police held me at a local detention center for fifteen days. I was forced to get up early and sort beans. We were frequently forced to work until 3:00 a.m. and then get up at 6:00 a.m. Sorting beans makes money for the wardens. After fifteen days of detention, I was then held in Yushu City's Detention Center for over 20 days. Afterwards, I was sentenced to three years of forced labor because policeman Chen Xingguo, the Political & Security Section chief from the Yushu City Police Department, reported my case to his superiors.

According to information from the Tianshui City, Zhangjiachuan County Court, it was decided internally to put practitioner Zhang Run on probation with a ten- to twenty-thousand-yuan fine, and to sentence practitioner Hei Huiyu, a worker from the city's Xinghuo Factory, to two and a half years in prison.

Practitioner Ms. Zu Lihong, 35, from Harbin City, lives in the residential compound affiliated with the Orchard Demonstration Factory in the Nangang District of Harbin City. On January 9, 2004, personnel from Harbin City's Dongli Police Precinct abducted and tortured her. Afterwards Ms. Zu was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She is presently being held in the city's Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.

On September 30, 2003, around the time of the 16^th Party Conference, personnel from the city's Pingfang District Police Precinct arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Shuzhen and sentenced her to three years of imprisonment. At present, she is being held at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Mr. Hong Baojia, 46, from Shuangcheng City, lives in Donghua Village, Xinxing Township, Shuangcheng City. On April 15, 2003, personnel from the local police precinct arrested him at his home and took him to the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Later, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Prior to the imprisonment, he had had lived away from home for three years in order to avoid being arrested. At present, Hong Baojia is being held in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.

On the evening of February 13, 2004, practitioner Guo Shijun from Shuangcheng City was put into the city's detention center when posting the words "Falun Dafa is Great." Later, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Mr. Guo is presently being held in Harbin City's Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Mu Xiuqing of Shuangcheng City lives in Xinhong Village, Xinxing Township, Shuangcheng City. During the evening of February 13, 2004, personnel from the Dongguan Town Police Precinct arrested her when she was putting up posters reading, "Falun Dafa is Great" and sent her to the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Mu Xiuqing was then sentenced to three years of forced labor, to be served at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.

On December 28, 2004, police arrested practitioners Zhang Youjin and Zheng Hongying, from Nankouqian Town, Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province, when the practitioners were distributing truth-clarifying materials in Xifeng County. They are being held in Xifeng County's Detention Center. Their family members sent them quilts and some clothes, but were not permitted to see them.

In August 2004, practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuying from the Yangpu District, Shanghai, was arrested when clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in the Changning District. It was heard that Zhang Shuying has been sentenced to eighteen months of imprisonment. She is currently being held in the Changning Detention Center, at the Changning Police Precinct (Telephone: 86-21-65397576).

In November 2004, practitioner Ms. Wang Qingwen and his wife Ms. Chen Liqin from Yulin City, Guangxi AR were arrested and their personal belongings worth about 15,000 yuan were stolen. In order to clarify the truth and petition the 610 Office to release the Wang Qingwen couple, practitioners put up banners and posters everywhere in the city. However, the city's 610 Office not only did not accept their persuasion, but continued recklessly persecuting practitioners and ransacking their homes. Last December alone, seven practitioners were sentenced from two to three years of forced labor. At present, practitioners Chen Zhi and Zhang Xuecai are still being held at the city's No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Lu Yuzhen, 61, and Ms. Wang, 47, are practitioners living in Zaike Village, Dangjia Town, Shizhong District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. On April 22, 2004, personnel from the town's police precinct arrested both practitioners from their homes. The charge was that they were Falun Gong practitioners and had distributed truth-clarifying materials. The police even listed three people as witnesses. After a careful investigation, it was discovered that the three people in the village and the district that had been cited as witnesses did not exist! Clearly, the accusation was based on false evidence. Lu Yuzhen went back home with the power of righteous thoughts.

On June 24, 2004, practitioner Wang Yanying was sentenced to one year of forced labor. The labor camp conditions were extremely poor. The practitioner' family was not allowed to visit her when they went to see her four times. They have not seen her in over five months.

During the evening of October 30, 2004, policemen including Ouyang Dong and Zhang Luosheng arrested practitioner Ms. Zhuang Huaxian from Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province and put her into the Harbor Bureau Detention Center when they found her carrying Falun Gong truth-clarifying material.

Personnel from the 610 Office even admonished her older brother, "You siblings are all Communist Party members and government officials. However, you are against the Party. If Zhang Huaxian refuses to write the Guarantee Statement and does not tell us who gave her the truth-clarifying material, you siblings will be dismissed from your posts, and we will send Zhuang Huaxian into the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp."

Practitioner Ms. Yan Jinbo, 30, is a teacher at Dongshan District's Dongshan Primary School in Hegang City. On September 16, 2004, personnel from the city's police department arrested her, ransacked her house, and stole a computer, all because Ms. Yan clarified the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution to her students. She tried to prevent them from being deceived by the propaganda in the newspapers and TV programs, and taught them how to be good people, living according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." The police even attempted to arrest her husband, Leng Bing, a practitioner who is in his 30s and a teacher at Xiangyang District's Beishan Primary School. Her husband was forced to leave home to avoid the illegal arrest.

At present, Yan Jinbo's mother is taking care of the couple's three-year-old daughter. Ms. Yan is being held in the city's No. 2 Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Peng Yanli, a resident in Jiangmen City, was arrested and was sentenced to forced labor in 2000 when distributing truth-clarifying materials. Later, her family got her released by paying a ransom. In October 2004, she was arrested again when she was clarifying the truth to people on the way to her hometown.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Miaofang lives on Northern Street of Jiangmen City. In March 2002, she was arrested and held at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for eighteen months. In November 2004, Ms. Zhang was arrested again and sentenced to two years of forced labor for clarifying the truth.
