Retired Teacher Ms. Wang Tingfang of Yangquan City, Shanxi Province Dies from Persecution
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Tingfang, a Falun Dafa practitioner from
Nanguan, Pingding County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, had been unlawfully
sentenced to two years of forced labor for her belief in Falun Dafa. Officials
continued to harass her after she was released. Wang Tingfang died from
persecution in March 2004. Ms. Wang Tingfang was 65 years old and was a retired teacher from the Nanguan
School in Yangquan City. She suffered from numerous illnesses before she started
practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. All of her illnesses disappeared within half a
year of practicing Falun Dafa. She looked much younger and was full of energy. After July 20, 1999, when Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Dafa,
local officials, including Bai Ruming, director of the Yangquan City 610 Office,
Guo Zhenzhu of the Pingding Police Department, and Wang Maoying, deputy Party
Secretary of Chengguan Town, placed Ms. Wang in a state of continuous
persecution. In February 2001, they placed her in a brainwashing facility, where
police officer Guo Wenguang viciously beat her numerous times. She and other
practitioners were forced to get up at midnight and run outside in the yard.
Later in 2001, Ms. Wang was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor.
She was released after January 1, 2003, but officials from the local village
neighborhood committee, police station, and the 610 Office continued harassing
her. As a result, her health deteriorated. Following orders issued by Bai Ruming,
director of the 610 Office, the principal of the Chengguan School suspended her
pension benefits for twenty-four months, totaling over 24,000 yuan. In March 2004, Ms. Wang Tingfang died as a result of the long-term
persecution. November 16, 2004
