New Jersey State Senator and Assemblymen Jointly Request That President Bush Address the Persecution of Falun Gong with Chinese Leader Hu Jintao
(Clearwisdom.net) On October 4, 2005, New Jersey State Senator Thomas
H. Kean, Jr., Assemblyman Eric Munoz, M.D., and Assemblyman Jon M. Bramnick
jointly wrote a letter to President Bush requesting that when President Bush
visits China in October, he address the crucial issue of the persecution of
Falun Gong with Chinese leader Hu Jintao. They said: "It is of vital
significance that these human rights abuses be adequately investigated and those
responsible punished." New Jersey Legislature October 4, 2005 The Honorable George W. Bush Dear Mr. President, We are writing to you today on behalf of all Falun Gong
practitioners in China. In particular, we are writing on behalf of the orphans
who are left behind, after their parents are arrested, detained and tortured
simply for practicing Falun Gong. It is our understanding that Falun Gong is a peaceful and
spiritual practice cultivating the mind and the body of those who practice it.
Unfortunately, however, the Chinese government feels that practicing Falun Gong
poses a serious threat to the existence of the Chinese State. Therefore,
starting in July of 1999, the government began a nation-wide suppression of
Falun Gong. We respectfully request that when you visit China in October,
you address this crucial issue with Chinese President Hu Jintao. It is of vital
significance that these human rights abuses be adequately investigated and those
responsible punished. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation
regarding this critical issue. Sincerely, Thomas H. Kean, Jr. Eric Munoz, M.D. Jon M. Bramnick
