(Clearwisdom.net) On October 13, 2005, dozens of practitioners went to the Hong Kong Legislative Council to deliver copies of the public statement from the Falun Dafa Association to Hong Kong council members and officials who were attending the Chief Executive's press conference on Policy Address. The statement was published on October 9. For the welfare of Hong Kong as well as each citizen, practitioners wanted to take the opportunity to formally notify Hong Kong government and related individuals not to continue to act as accomplices of the Chinese Communist in the persecution.
Hong Kong practitioners held a peaceful appeal outside Legislative Council, warning the HKSAR government not to act as an accomplice of the Chinese Communist Party in the persecution. Outside the Legislative Council compound, a practitioner read the Falun Dafa Association statement aloud.
"The persecution of persons based solely on their practice of the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance" is unconscionable. Ever since the publication of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Chinese people have more clearly recognized the nature of the CCP and the evil nature of the persecution. More than 4.8 million have withdrawn from the CCP and its related organizations. Heaven's destruction of the CCP is a historical inevitability. Gods must punish those criminals who have sinned against Falun Dafa. Those who refuse to do the right thing and instead continue to follow Jiang's scoundrel regime's persecution policies will be severely punished as perpetrators of unforgivable crimes."
"At this critical historical moment, the Falun Dafa Association has made a special announcement: From today on, overseas Falun Gong practitioners will file civil or criminal lawsuits against all important government or CCP officials who participate in or continue to implement the persecution of Falun Gong and as a result, commit new crimes in addition to those they have already perpetrated against Falun Gong."
For those who had participated in the persecution and now no longer want to continue the wrongdoings after they learned the truth, the statement said: "...one of the purposes of the sacred FA of Falun Gong is to save people, including people in all social statuses. Even for those who have committed wrongdoings, there is still an opportunity for them to abandon the evil path and choose to be good. For all those who have committed crimes against Falun Gong but want now to correct their mistakes, they can submit, under safe circumstances, a guarantee statement or regret letter to Minghui (Clearwisdom Net) or to any regional Falun Dafa Association to be archived. We will not investigate the various crimes of those who are determined to correct their mistakes. However we will continue to monitor their actions."
Practitioners also distributed copies of the Statement to staff of the council as well as passersby. Seeing the activity, an old couple came up to read the banners. When a practitioner handed them a copy of the statement, they glanced at it and said that they came from Mainland to sightsee. They asked about the persecution. Before they left, the couple told the practitioner sincerely: "We wish you success!"
(Clearwisdom.net) Jointly hosted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN-HABITAT), Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the International Local Governments Peace Conference was held in the renowned tourist site Cappadocia in Nevsehir province of Turkey from September 25 to 28, 2005. Over 1,200 people attended the conference, including many officials from the above international organizations, local government heads from forty-five nations and regions, some representatives from Non-Governmental organizations and officials from many Turkish provinces and cities. Three Falun Gong practitioners representing Turkish Falun Gong Association also attended the conference with permission.

During the conference, Falun Gong practitioners made wide contact with representatives from the world's five continents, and distributed introductory materials about Falun Gong (written materials, VCD and leaflets) to many participants including UN officials. They also talked to them about the six-year-long brutal persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners in China. The conference organizer gave special permission for Falun Gong practitioner to give a brief speech in the conference.
Exposing the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China, one practitioner said, "Since July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party and the Jiang regime have carried out genocide and persecution against Falun Gong practitioners, people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance". To date, over 2,740 Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death, many thousands were forcibly sent to mental hospitals because of their belief in Falun Gong, over 6,000 innocent people were illegally sent to prisons and over 10,000 practitioners have been illegally detained in forced labor camps. This six-year long brutal persecution is still going on today. Because of the total control of the media by the Chinese Communist regime, many people are still unaware of the true situation of this persecution."
Ending the speech, the practitioner whole-heartedly wished that all conference participants could learn about the persecution and appealed to all peace-loving organizations in the world to stop it.
After hearing about the persecution, conference participants and reporters were shocked. Officials from some international organizations and representatives from many countries expressed their great concern for the persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Ms Cristina Monteys from UNESCO met practitioners twice during the conference. Talking to the practitioners, she repeatedly stressed, "The constitution and role of UNESCO is to contribute peace and security by promoting collaborations among nations through education, science and culture, to help build a peaceful culture among nations, and at the same time maintain and develop the freedom of belief of humankind." She expressed that she would work together with Falun Gong practitioners to bring this persecution to an end as soon as possible.
Ms Sera Poole, the principal UN representative to Turkey, came and talked to practitioners during the conference break. She said, "We should let more people know about the persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners in China." She hoped that in this land of freedom and democracy in Turkey, more people would hear the voices of Falun Gong practitioners and that Falun Gong would get more and wide sympathy and support.
During the conference, UN officials who met with practitioners and expressed their support included: Mr Ananthakrishman from UN-HABITAT, the general secretary of the Turkish Local Governments Association Mr Saffet Ozdemir and Mr Hasan Soyguzel from UN 21st Century Programme in Yalova City of Turkey.
After learning of the sufferings of Falun Gong practitioners in China, Ms Fatimata Traore from Mali's Women Association angrily said, "The Chinese Communist regime's inhuman violence would surely be condemned by all the people and organisations believing in justice. They will be discarded by all kind-hearted people."
The head of the largest Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajans, Ms Funda Okcu, Mr Himmet Polatel from the Turkish media company Plato Medya Yapim and reporters from other news agencies all expressed that to show their support to Falun Gong they would expose the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the media, letting more people learn the truth about the persecution.
During the four-day conference, the great efforts by practitioners helped participants truly understand the genocidal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners occurring in China. They won concern, sympathy and support.

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 12, 2005, along the seashore of famous Pattaya, more than sixty Falun Gong practitioners gathered to practice the exercises and clarify the truth, introducing the grace of Falun Dafa.

On the morning of October 12, a waist drum group played on the coast for the first time. Along with the drums, practitioners paraded along the seashore. They shouted "Falun Dafa is good" and "Falun Dafa is righteous Fa". Banners worded "Falun Dafa is good", "The world needs Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" caught the attention of tourists and passers-by. Many people accepted flyers and truth-clarification VCDs.
Pattaya is a place where tourists from many countries visit. Many Chinese people visit the place each day. It has become an important venue to clarify the truth to Chinese people.
Recently, police once intervened with practitioners distributing truth-clarification materials and said it was because of pressure from Chinese Embassy. Through practitioners' patient explanation of the facts, local police came to understand more and more. They explained how they don't like to cooperate with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
A new scene at the seashore
From October 8 to 19, the Chinese government organized a trade delegation of 7,000 people wanting to conduct business with Thailand. They traveled to Bangkok and Pattaya. Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to them, helping them to learn the facts about the Jiang faction's persecution of Falun Gong in China, demonstrating the grace of Falun Dafa, and voicing support for the practitioners being persecuted in China.
(Clearwisdom.net) On the weekend of September 6 and 7, 2005, a health fair was held in Kongsvinger, southern Norway. The practitioners were invited to participate in the fair to show the five gentle, but powerful Falun Gong exercises and to talk about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution that is happening in China today.

We were given a nice place just by the entrance, so many people got to see and learn about Falun Gong. Most of them became interested in learning Falun Gong themselves. During the fair we had many long conversations with people to answer their many questions about Falun Gong and about why Falun Gong is persecuted in China. People cold not understand why such a peaceful practice was persecuted. Also, the interest among the visitors was great and many left with the introductory book and Zhuan Falun, the main book in Falun Gong. It explains what cultivation is all about, and it tells about life and the three universal principles of "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance" which are the essential principles in Falun Gong.
Two introduction courses were held to let those interested learn the exercises the same day. Many people participated. One of the courses had to be held over 2 hours, so as to be able to answer all the questions from the participants and to let all of the participants learn the exercises thoroughly. The participants were really interested and did not like to leave. Several participants asked to be contacted next time if there would be a Falun Gong course in Kongsvinger.

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 1st, 2005, a district senior citizens center in Cologne held their 2nd annual Health Information Exhibition for senior citizens as well as the midlled-aged citizens-the future seniors with the theme "keeping your health." When Falun Gong practitioners in Cologne learned about the news, they contacted the organiser to get involved. The organiser gladly invited them to participate in together with forty other groups.
After receiving the invitation, the practitioners embarked on the preparation for this activity. Everybody gathered in the house of a fellow practitioner to prepare banners, exhibition boards and paper Lotus Flowers. All this is also part of their cultivation path to learn how to cooperate with each other and give up the attachment to one's own ideas and accept others' opinions when it is necessary. All the efforts were not for oneself, but to help everyday people understand Falun Gong and understand the truth of the persecution and benefit from it.
At the beginning of the meeting, the practitioners first visited all the other groups in the exhibition and presented them with paper Lotus Flowers. People liked the delicate Lotus Flowers very much. Soon the Lotus Flowers were everywhere, over the desk and on the walls in the whole exhibition arena. With a brief introduction, our practitioners introduced Falun Gong and invited people to participate in the exercise teaching in the afternoon.
Many senior citizens attending the activity had not heard of Falun Gong, and they listened to the introduction with keen interest. When they heard that Falun Gong was suppressed and practitioners were persecuted in China, they were shocked. They wanted to offer help and did not hesitate to sign their names to show support. The head of the district and the organizer also came to Falun Gong's exhibition booth. Our practitioners introduced Falun Gong to them in detail. Before leaving, the head of the district gladly pinned a paper Lotus Flower on his suit and wished practitioners a success during the exhibition.
Many people came to learn the exercises, among them an 85 year-old grandmother. She learned all five sets of the exercises in high spirits. Some senior citizens who had problems with their legs sat on chairs to watch others learn the exercises. A reporter from a local newspaper took a lot of photos. Later practitioners introduced Falun Gong to him and answered his questions.
A younger lady learned about the situation of Falun Gong from our practitioners on the podium and stayed to ask a lot of questions afterwards. At last she said to our practitioners she could not understand why Falun Gong practitioners in China would be persecuted for practicing such peaceful exercises. She expressed gratitude to our practitioners and left with something to think about. Some people enquired about the time and place they could learn the practice. They were surprised to hear that Falun Gong is taught all over the world for free.
The activity was very successful. Practitioners said that they would continue their hard work to seize every opportunity to let more people learn the truth about Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) On Sunday October 2 in the city of Liding, a health program was held in a park in downtown Larsberg. Representatives from the city of Liding were there and talked about the island's new health profile. Practitioners were invited to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises. During the afternoon several organizations presented various outdoor programs. Practitioners set up an information table and demonstration along a forest walkway. A lot people got a chance to watch practitioners demonstrate the five exercises and ask questions as they enjoyed the afternoon.

(Clearwisdom.net) A March 4, 2001 news report revealed that Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Guibin from Wucheng County, Shandong Province died as a result of being beaten by security officers at his place of employment, a cotton manufacturing facility. Below are some additional facts.
Even after Mr. Chen Guibin became paralyzed from the beatings he remained mentally quite clear. During treatment at a hospital, he told all his friends and relatives about how he was grossly abused and persecuted. Before he was beaten, the three e people who were with him, his wife Zhou Haitao, Falun Gong practitioner Chen Wentian and he had already been illegally locked up for over ten days in a small dark room beside the Political and Security Division area.
On that particular day they summoned Chen Guibin to the Political and Security Division. When he entered the room, four men, including Political and Security Division chief Hou Jincai and Wu Xiaogang, Yang Jiangong and Yao Jinshan surrounded Chen Guibin and put him in handcuffs. The four of them were drunk. They stood on either side of him and beat him severely.
Chen Guibin said, "When they were beating me, my head banged against the strongbox and I lost consciousness. They continued beating me for a long time. Later they carried me out of the Political and Security Division into the open and left me in the freezing snow for over one hour. Eventually they carried me back to the Political and Security Division and left me on a wooden bed. They opened all the windows, locked the door and left."
Around 8:00 p.m. Chen Guibin heard his wife who was detained next door say she wanted to go to the toilet. He shouted to her, "Haitao (his wife's name), they beat me up till I am paralyzed." Through the window Zhou Haitao saw Chen Guibin lying motionless on the wooden bed.
The next day in the morning, Zhou Haitao saw the company's vice-president Wang Jinzhu and asked him, "What is going to happen, now that Chen Guibin is paralyzed from the beatings?" Wang Jinzhu's attitude was extremely bad. He indicated he couldn't be bothered with her. Zhou Haitao saw the general manager Wang Yumin and she asked again. Wang Yumin also ignored her. Later, the security guards forcibly dragged Zhou Haitao back into the small dark room and handcuffed her to the head of a bed.
The next morning, Chen Guibin's mother came to the factory. She discovered that Chen Guibin was beaten until he became paralyzed. She requested a doctor to examine Chen Guibin. The doctor used a needle to prick Chen Guibin's sole, but he did not move his leg. Zhou Haitao, still in handcuffs, asked Chen Guibin, "Where are you hurting?" Chen Guibin, also in handcuffs said, "My neck hurts."
At 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. on the 9th, Chen Guibin was then sent to a hospital. By then he had already been lying paralyzed on the wooden bed for one day and one night. According to the doctor's examination, two sections of his cervical vertebra were badly fractured. A CT scan found that the bone had even protruded. The doctor said, "If you had come a few hours later, he would have died at the factory. His bladder would have burst, as he no longer could pass urine."
Half a month after Chen Guibin became paralyzed, the Yinhe Company manager extorted 3,000 yuan bail money from Zhou Haitao before releasing her. Chen Guibin had already undergone three surgeries at the Shengli Hospital in Jinan Province.
On January 25, 2001 Chen Guibin went home, equipped with an oxygen tank. He passed away on February 7, 2001.
Information from an insider: The reason the security officers at his place of employment dared to beat Chen Guibin to death was their backing from the police and from the 610 Office.
During the beatings of Chen Guibin, police vehicles from the Wucheng County Police Department and from the "610 Office" were parked at the company. Zhang Ruijun and Xu Bingxin from the Political and Security Division of the police department were also present at the scene. The county Party security also gave orders to get a fine of ten thousand yuan from the Yinhe Company, saying it was to pay for the costs of incarcerating the Falun Gong practitioners from the Yinhe Company who went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Guangnian, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jingmen City, Hubei Province, developed problems in his legs after he received an injection from Yang Jingqin (male), associate professor at Hubei Province Shayang Prison General Hospital. No matter whether he is sitting or walking, his legs ache, and he cannot stand up after using the toilet. Li Guangnian has been in this condition for several months.
Mr. Li Guangnian, over 40 years old, is from a rural area in Jingmen City. He firmly persisted in practicing Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth of Falun Gong, and as a result he was illegally sentenced to prison. On November 15, 2004 Mr. Li was sent to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City, Hubei Province. On November 17, he was transferred to Shayang Prison General Hospital, and on November 20, he was put in a ward for inmate patients.
Associated Professor Yang Jingqin from Shayang General Hospital has brutally force-fed Li Guangnian twice and ordered two criminal inmates to assist. Each prisoner sat on Li Guangnian's shoulders, one on each side, while Yang ordered other prisoners and medical staff to restrain Li Guangnian's head, hands, and feet so that he could not move.
During the first force-feeding, Yang Jingqin inserted a feeding tube into Li Guangnian's nose, causing it to bleed. Yang also stuck the tube into Li Guangnian's windpipe. Li Guangnian was choked and could not breathe, and his windpipe was severely injured.
In the second force-feeding, Yang Jingqin inserted the tube into Li Guangnian's mouth instead. Li Guangnian bit the tube very hard and would not let go, so the tube could not reach his esophagus. Yang Jingqin was enraged and without warning he pulled the tube out with such force that he caused bleeding to Li Guangnian's mouth, gums and tongue. Blood spattered onto the pillow and blanket. The scene was horrific.
On November 28, 2004, when Yang Jingqin gave Li Guangnian an injection, Mr. Li felt terrible pain. Afterwards, he gradually developed pain throughout his whole lower body. He now feels pain regardless of whether he sits, stands or walks. He cannot stand up after using the toilet. This situation has continued for several months.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Gansu Province Women's Forced Labor Camp relentlessly and brutally persecutes practitioners. They force the practitioners who are illegally detained there to write a so-called "thought report" every week. The administration's department chief of the forced labor camp also uses extremely virulent language to ask questions and demands that the practitioners answer. If the practitioners refuse to cooperate, the political instructors, team leaders and police instigate drug addicts to brutally torture the practitioners.
Instances of this brutal persecution described below.
1. Ms. Li Yulian was locked in a small, dark and very cold room during the winter and was forced to stand for 24 hours every day. The police commanded all the drug addicts of the entire team to change shifts every hour to monitor Ms. Li. The weather was so cold that the drug addicts could not bear it even when they were wearing very thick cotton-padded jackets, but Ms. Li was forced to stand for 30 days in this extreme weather, even when she ate. She was also frequently beaten by criminal inmates. The drug addicts' brutal persecution of Ms. Li was all under the direction of team leader Zuo Yanling.
2. Ms. Zhang Yuxia has been illegally detained at the forced labor camp since October 2001. The criminals tied both her hands and hung her from a gate. Ms. Zhang was suspended like this for six or seven days. Another person directly responsible is Zuo Yanling.
3. A drug addict told the practitioners that a practitioner who was over 60 years old was tortured to death because the guards didn't allow her to sleep and finally she couldn't bear it anymore. She also told the practitioners that the forced labor camp only gave the practitioner's family 3,000 yuan for her death.
4. Ms. Zhang Youfu, Ms. Chai Mei, Ms. Zhao Yueqin and Ms. Yan Ping all suffered persecution to differing degrees. Ms. Yan Ping has not been allowed to sleep for several nights. The longest period of sleep deprivation was 23 days. She is also forced to do intensive labor in the daytime. Another practitioner's release was postponed for nine days.
Those still persecuting practitioners are listed below.

The "Strict Disciplinary Program" at the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City is the most vicious and inhuman program at the camp. Falun Gong practitioners sent to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp are placed in the strict disciplinary team without exception. Head official Wang Chen has given the strict disciplinary team free reign to use any torture methods on the practitioners, as long as they are kept alive.
The following are some of the usual torture methods officials at the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp employ to persecute Dafa practitioners:
Falun Dafa practitioner Gu Jiushou, 60 years old, was an engineer in a certain organization. When he was illegally arrested and sent to the forced labor camp the second time, he signed a document to renounce Falun Gong under pressure. He regretted it afterwards and publicly declared it null and void. The disciplinary officer then asked him to retract his declaration, but he resolutely refused, so he was subjected to their vicious program of starvation and dehydration. He was also forced to sit on a small stool for prolonged periods of time. As a result of this torture his buttocks were covered with bloody sores. The washroom restrictions coupled with the summer heat made the cell stink unbearably. During this period, encouraged by the guards, inmates Liu Dajiang and Zhang Yi beat Mr. Gu with a steel hanger, bamboo blocks, and a sharp-pointed rod, causing severe injury to his head and ankles. Liu Wenzheng did not allow Mr. Gu any sleep, and beat on his forehead repeatedly. After the beating, Mr. Gu's forehead was very swollen and he almost lost his eyesight. Only a month later, did he begin to gradually recover.
Falun Dafa practitioner Tang Weicheng, over 50, is an accountant from a certain company. Mr. Tang was sent to the disciplinary team because he declared a document he had previously signed as void. He was immediately forced to stay awake for 46-hours, then after two hours of sleep, he was forced to stay awake for another 46 hours. For three months he was not allowed to wash himself. Furthermore, he was forced to sit with his head down on a stool while pressing his knees together to keep a bamboo stick in place. If the stick fell off, he would be beaten. This made him unable to raise his head up later due to the strained muscles. Mr. Tang was also heavily beaten with an iron hanger, which left two deep scars on his face. After he completed his sentence, the camp officer Wang Chen extended his sentence for a further three months.
Zhang Yougao, over 60, was an employee from a certain school. It was his second time serving a sentence at the same labor camp. On admission, an officer knocked him down and asked an inmate to drag him by his feet all the way to the disciplinary room. His back was all bruised and cut from the dragging. Afterwards, the inmates stomped on his back, causing internal injuries.
Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Qun, who refused to sign an agreement letter denouncing Falun Gong, was beaten brutally by Wan Guochun, head of the disciplinary team. Wu's agonizing screams attracted the attention of the duty officer, Peng Xuhui, who came and handcuffed Wu on to a bed stand and gave him more punishment. After the beating, Wu was pushed under a low bed, with the head bent for a long time. For a long time afterwards, Wu was unable to hold his head straight, and he also lost control of his bladder and bowels.
Another Falun Dafa practitioner named Lu was told to fold up bed covers. While complaining to the supervisor that he was too slow, an inmate grabbed hold of Lu's hair and slammed his head against the iron bed stand, which caused a laceration of more than two inches long. Lu was sent to the hospital for treatment, and was later sent to another correction center.
The persecution is still going on in China. The above are only a few cases of the brutal treatment received by Dafa practitioners at Xishanping Forced Labor Camp. We hope that the world will learn what is going on in China.
(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of 2001, we were moved into a new building, which houses the so-called "School for Educating the Mind." This building looks luxurious and modern on the surface, but my fellow practitioners and I have suffered tremendously during the so-called "battle against determined practitioners" there. We went through numerous sleepless nights. I have seen many, many practitioners tortured in the hallway, washroom, clothes drying yard, cafeteria and bathrooms. Especially in the police's bathroom, there are Dafa practitioners squatting there every day. Those practitioners are not allowed to have meals in the cafeteria; instead they have to eat in the bathroom.
Starting in December of 2002, the Liaoning Police Department sent some policemen from Jinzhou, Fushun and Benxi to Masanjia. Many practitioners were forced to write the three statements. Later, they were also forced to write "four statements," "five statements", and then forced to "expose and condemn" other practitioners. They have to write "thought reports" and attack other practitioners. If they didn't beat and swear at other people, they would not be considered "fully reformed" and continue to be brainwashed.
That situation lasted for over one month, and each day felt like a year. The very determined practitioners passed the mental trial but physically they were scarred. Some of them had their legs swollen with their ankles black and blistered; some had pus oozing from places around their ankles.
I saw a female practitioner dabbing at the pus with a tissue. She came from Dandong and was around 30 years old. I didn't know her name. He legs were forced into a crossed position and tied with cord for a long time.
Another practitioner was tied with her limbs bent together and hung up for 6 days and nights. At the time of this writing, she could not straighten her back. Her body became swollen because of the static position, and dark patches of black and blue appeared all over her body. Some places of her body necrotized, and some places became as hard as a stone. She also developed a huge sore which became infected after being tortured by electric shocks. Her name is Wang Yunjie. I don't know where she is from.
Another practitioner came from Huludao City. She is blind and has to touch the wall to walk. I don't know her name or how she became blind. But I know she was healthy before she entered Masanjia. There are numerous examples like this.
There were more than one hundred determined Dafa practitioners there at that time, and almost all of them have suffered different types of torture. Some of them were forced to wear a helmet. When a guard found somebody dozing, he would pour a bucket of water onto the practitioner's head, and then he would use a pair of chopsticks to bang on the helmet. Some of the practitioners were forced to raise their arms high for a long period of time; some of them were tied onto the heating pipe; some had socks stuffed into their mouths, and some had their hands cuffed behind their backs.
When practitioners' family members visited, some of them told their family, "If I die in here, it must be because they have tortured me to death. At that time you must seek justice for me." Many family members could not believe it until the next visit, when they saw the practitioners were emaciated and injured. They were often stunned by the sight.
As soon as that kind of persecution stopped, practitioners had to labor outside digging and planting trees. Every day they dug dozens of big holes. Their hands became covered with blisters and many still had to work overtime if their quotas were not completed. After that, they had to weed, move mud, and fix the big holes up day in and day out. During the SARS epidemic, they were not allowed visitors from home, so the policemen had that time to persecute the practitioners again. The practitioners suffered the same torture again for another month.
The same methods are still being utilized today. We ask everyone to please help those practitioners being held in Masanjia.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Shaofa was seventy-one years old and lived in Huili County, Sichuan Province. Before practicing cultivation, he used to have stomach problems, ( he'd had an operation to remove three-quarters of the stomach), heart disease, bronchitis, and he was very thin and weak due to being wracked by sickness. Shortly after cultivating Falun Dafa in 1998, all of his health problems were miraculously gone.
He clarified the truth to the Chinese government after April 25, 1999. After July 20, 1999, the police went to his home and threatened to have his children fired from their jobs if he did not quit practicing Falun Gong, but he remained resolute in his belief. TV station journalists also tried to force him at his home to slander Falun Dafa, but he refused to do this also.
Due to long term harassment and pressure, Mr. Xu Shaofa died on June 24, 2005.
Recently, many incidents of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners have taken place in Huili County, led by the County State Security Division Head Yang Shaoliang. Four practitioners were sentenced to prison terms, more than ten practitioners were sentenced to forced labor, more than 60 detained, more than 40 homes ransacked, and many have been heavily fined.
(Clearwisdom.net) Mrs. Wei Peixiu, 67, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Changyi City, Shandong Province who died as a result of the persecution. Mrs. Ren Fengying, 76, passed away after her daughter and son-in-law had been persecuted. Mrs. Zhu Zongtao, a practitioner from Xiangfan City, Hubei Province, was detained repeatedly and finally died.
Mrs. Wei Peixiu was a retiree of Huayu Inc. in Changyi City, Shandong Province. She suffered from many illnesses before she became a Falun Gong practitioner, and became healthy afterward. Mrs. Wei was known for being friendly and hospitable. Early on in the persecution Mrs. Wei went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, was arrested, and was subjected to brainwashing for three days in the company warehouse.
In March, 2000, Mrs. Wei went to Beijing again. She was arrested in Tiananmen Square and detained for one month. Yang Zhili, the Political and Judicial Committee Secretary in Liutuan Town, and Wang Ruibo, Deputy Director of Liutuan Town, escorted Mrs. Wei to a government building. There she was beaten, kicked, forced to kneel on bricks and forced to carry bricks on her back. Her knees bled, and her waist and back were injured from the torture.
At noon on December 21, 2004, the Changyi City 610 Office director, Chen Xiaodong, led Liutuan Town substation police to barge into Mrs. Wei's residence and arrest her. The police ransacked her house and extorted 5000 yuan. Mrs. Wei was illegally detained for 15 days and then brainwashed for a day at Weifang City Industrial Management School. Due to the almost incessant harassment from the police, Mrs. Wei Peixiu died on the evening of September 1, 2005.

Mrs. Ren Fengying, 76, lived in Zaodangbo Production residence, Dianzi Town, Guan County, Shandong Province. Her daughter and her son-in-law, Mr. Dong Xinhai, are Falun Gong practitioners. Since the persecution began in 1999, Mrs. Ren's home has been ransacked several times. She was harassed, arrested, and illegally fined about ten thousand "yuan." Her daughter and Mr. Dong were illegally arrested many times. Mr. Dong was taken away on March 16, 2004. Mrs. Ren and her mentally retarded grandson were left at home alone. Mrs. Ren Fengying passed away on November 17, 2004.
Ms. Zhu Zongtao, 52, was a Falun Gong practitioner in the Second Department of the Electrical Bureau in Xiangfan City. Practicing Falun Gong cured her heart disease. On May 1, 2000, Ms. Zhu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally jailed in Beijing for three months. The Zhongyaun Police Station in Xiangfan City picked her up from Beijing and Ms. Zhu's family had to pay over 10 thousand yuan under the table to the detention center to bring her home. In total Ms. Zhu was arrested and forced to undergo brainwashing in Wuhan City five times simply because she clarified the facts about Falun Gong.
On December 28, 2004, the police arrested Ms. Zhu and another practitioner for distributing truth-clarification materials. Both practitioners were detained in the Xiangfan City Second Detention Center for 10 days. Physical examinations conducted by the detention center doctor and by a local hospital indicated that Ms. Zhu had high blood pressure and serious heart problems. The 610 Office, however, secretly sentenced the practitioners to one and a half years in the Wuhan City Female Forced Labor Camp.
The camp physician decided that Ms. Zhu's health was too poor for her to be kept in the forced labor camp, so on January 10, 2005, she was released. Because Ms. Zhu's relatives did not practice Falun Gong, they blamed her for the financial losses and mental sufferings of the family. Ms. Zhu died of myocardial infection on June 20, 2005.

Around September 20, 2005, leaders of the police departments and state security departments from across Heilongjiang Province gathered in Harbin to plan a campaign to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners across the province. Harbin, Daqing and some other cities were on the top of the list to target for the arrests. The provincial police department issued a list of practitioners to various regions, instructing them to arrest those on the list prior to the October 1 National Day. The entire police force in some areas was ordered to gather in the police dining halls. After eating, the officers were dispatched to work around the clock, mostly at night, to stake out the targeted practitioners and "arrest" them.
This act of terror has been resisted in some areas. Rank and file police in Harbin, Daqing and some other areas complained openly. One police chief said, "Aren't they running out of things to do? Why arrest those who practice Falun Gong?" One residential police officer condemned, "What's this arrest targeting Falun Gong about? What good does it serve?"
Provincial police leaders are worried about the sympathy for Falun Gong among their subordinates. They have ordered police departments to make no decisions on the fate of arrested practitioners. Every day, the local police departments have to file a report to the higher authorities detailing their daily progress in the persecution. No decisions are to be made by the local police.
We hope our fellow practitioners in various regions will keep up their rationality and wisdom, and not be moved by the atmosphere of evil. We walk the path of cultivation. If there is a problem, let's not treat it with human mindsets. We should keep up righteous thoughts, calm down to study the Fa and look inside ourselves unconditionally. Teacher has taught us time and time again that we should study the Fa, study the Fa, and study the Fa. We have to pay attention to studying the Fa, as we are the safest when we stay within the Fa.

1. None of the Village Officials Assisted the Police
Most officials and residents in a village in Wendeng City have become aware of the truth about Falun Dafa. A few months ago, police officers from the 610 Office arrived in police vehicles at the home of the director of a women's association to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. The director told them, "Our entire village believes in Falun Gong. If you think you can, take everybody away with you." When the officers brought up specific names of practitioners, the director said, "They are the best people in our village. You can't take a single one of them." The officers were discouraged and left.
Around August 10, officers from the 610 Office again arrived in police vehicles. This time they came to the home of the accountant of one the divisions. In order to protect practitioners, the accountant told the officers, "There are no practitioners in our village, stop coming here and harassing us." The police were again thwarted.
Only days later, they arrived in police vehicles again at the home of the village security director's home. The security director did not yield to their demands either. The evil conspiracies were defeated again.
2. "I Will Never Participate in the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners Again"
A director of a residential committee in Jiangxi Province was involved in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. After becoming aware of the truth about Falun Gong and about the evil nature of the Communist Party, he came to practitioners asking for their help to declare his withdrawal from the Party. He kept saying, "I will never participate in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners again."

to be a very good article, and I sincerely hope that every one of my fellow practitioners can read it. After I read the article, I deeply understood that being responsible for oneself is also being responsible for the Fa and forever regarding the Fa as Teacher.
The Chinese government began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Back then, the situation in China was extremely serious. However, under Teacher's strengthening and under domestic and overseas practitioners diligently clarifying the truth to people, the situation has already changed tremendously. The evil has been eliminated massively and more and more people have understood the facts. The Fa-rectification of the human world is just around the corner.
All of these achievements are able to occur because we have our great Teacher and the great Fa given by Teacher. Frankly, all the achievements are the Fa's achievements which are brought by Teacher's mercy and his bearing for us. If we practitioners are not in accordance with the Fa, or don't do things according to Teacher's requirements, we won't have any mighty virtue ourselves. When people are very weak, even a low level spirit can easily control them.
Regarding undermining the Fa, most serious case comes from our practitioners internally. Teacher said:
"In fact, most interference for Dafa comes internally, from practitioners themselves. External factors can only affect a few individuals and are unable to alter the Fa. Whether it be at present or in the future, those who can undermine our Fa are none other than our own disciples. Be careful! "

However, those practitioners who undermined the Fa most of the time didn't intend to do so. It was precisely because they didn't study the Fa solidly, had many human attachments and were not willing to let them go. They accidentally walked on the path that the old forces had arranged for them, and in the end, they were not only persecuted brutally themselves by the evil but also they seriously harmed Fa without being unable to make up for it.
At any time, regarding the Fa as Teacher is our fundamental task, to safeguard the Fa under any environment because the Fa is immutable and is unable to be shaken by any evil.
These thoughts I am sharing with you may not be mature. Actually I myself also had many insufficiencies during the course of cultivation practice. For instance, sometimes I was afraid that other practitioners would point out my attachment of fear. I didn't pay too much attention to my own security and was also afraid that other practitioners might say that my cultivation level was low, so I intentionally found something to do, which was precisely the manifestation of a human being's attachments. All those attachments can make you lose rationality and righteous judgment regarding aspects of the Fa, which can be extremely harmful. Meanwhile, these are also the problems that many fellow practitioners can't explicitly realize sometimes. Actually, being responsible for oneself is also the manifestation of being responsible for the Fa and its also being responsible for other practitioners.
Forever regard the Fa as Teacher and diligently do well in everything.
Please point out my mistakes with mercy.
(Clearwisdom.net) For many years, I was troubled by family issues that I could not free myself from. One day I read an article in Minghui Weekly. The practitioner in the article talked about how the old forces had used sickness-karma to persecute him. When he realized that the symptoms of the sickness-karma on his body were absolutely interference from the old forces, the symptoms immediately disappeared. Before this, he had always seen it as karma elimination, and he only tried to endure it. He didn't realize that his thinking actually aligned with the old forces' arrangements and persecution.
As I continued to read the article, I gained insights from another of the practitioner's examples. In his article, he mentioned a practitioner who had developed a love/hate relationship between herself and her family. This practitioner thought that she should just endure the situation between her and her family, as there was a karmic debt between them. She finally ending up feeling very sad and pained, unable to free herself from the problems. Because she agreed with the old forces and acknowledged their arrangements, the old forces took the opportunity to stop at nothing to arrange tribulations and obstacles to trap her. So if we think about it, wasn't this agreement and acknowledgement an attachment? Wasn't this brought on by what she sought?
When I read this, I recalled my own cultivation over the past several years. For a long time, because I had not studied the Fa well and harbored strong attachments, I was separated from other Dafa practitioners by the old forces during a four-year period of time. Therefore, I couldn't catch up with the pace of the Fa-rectification. I only read "Zhuan Falun", and did not study Master's new lectures at all. I didn't even ask about what Master had asked Dafa practitioners to do in the Fa-rectification period.
In December 2004, I contacted some local practitioners. I took the time to study some of Master's new lectures in the Fa-rectification period and I came to understand some new principles of the Fa. Before, I had realized that the old forces persecuted Dafa and practitioners, but I was not very clear on this issue, and I did not gain a good understanding until recently, when I read the article from Minghui Weekly. It revealed to me that the old forces persecute practitioners because the practitioners are not clear on the Fa-principles. They think the old forces' persecution against them is caused by their own karma, and it is something they ought to endure. They have then unconsciously accepted the arrangements of the old forces. At the same time, they also tacitly approved of this kind of persecution, and they unwittingly followed the path arranged by the old forces. Therefore, the old forces latch onto this and create endless trouble to interfere with Fa-rectification and with saving sentient beings. The interference and persecution is so evil! As a practitioner in the Fa-rectification period, how can this issue not be clearly understood?
The evil old forces will try anything and take every possible chance to persecute Dafa practitioners. When you are attached to something, it will reinforce that attachment, and then evolve various false visions to indulge you. Their ultimate goal is to destroy you; practitioners should be clear on this.
Practitioners should first realize that we are practitioners in the Fa-rectification period, and remember the important missions which history has bestowed upon Dafa disciples. We should fulfill our prehistoric vows. Assisting Master to rectify the Fa and saving sentient beings are our true goals.
I think the following are the reasons why I was persecuted by the old force during these past years: I did not study the Fa attentively; I did not understand the principles of the Fa; I did not catch up with the pace of the Fa-rectification. Therefore, I unknowingly welcomed the old forces and gave them an opportunity to interfere. This lesson is deeply grieved! From now on in my cultivation, I must study the Fa well, reform myself according to the Fa, and walk well my own path. In fact, all of this is a complete rejection of the old forces.

"You do not need to practice such low level things, and we will push you beyond it, making your body reach a state free of any illness."
For genuine practitioners, Teacher will purify their bodies. As a result, they will not have any illnesses. To an ordinary person, having an illness could be a serious problem. However, some non-practitioners have been able to recover from serious illnesses by simply reciting sincerely, "Falun Dafa is good," and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance is good." So, why are there still practitioners who have symptoms of illnesses, and some have even passed away?
There are two reasons that I would like to share.
Firstly, a practitioner may have to endure some of the sickness karma because he or she was not able to pass certain tests in personal cultivation and cannot let go of many attachments, thus resulting in the accumulation of tribulations.
Secondly, when a practitioner still has many attachments and cannot clarify the truth, and cannot meet the standard of a cultivator, he or she will be persecuted by the dark minions, rotten ghosts, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) evil specter. I have personally witnessed several such cases.
Practitioner A had been retired for many years. In his heart, he knew that Dafa is good. However, when the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he handed in all of his Falun Dafa books. He was afraid because the persecution brought up horrible memories of the past CCP campaigns in which people were severely persecuted.
When fellow practitioners gave him Dafa materials, practitioner A would ask them to wait while he quickly read through them because he was afraid the police would find out. When he suffered from symptoms of an illness, he did not treat himself as a practitioner, but instead used human notions to treat the illness. He would take medicine and get injections.
By 2003, his illness worsened. He could not lie down or he would cough and be unable to breathe. As a result, he had to stand or walk around, was sleepy all day and his legs became swollen. Very few practitioners knew about practitioner A's situation. When he was hospitalized, several practitioners went to visit him. However, he claimed he was too tired to let them stay long.
A few days later, practitioner A passed away. He had a predestined relationship with Dafa, yet he could not persevere in cultivation. It is a shame that he missed the opportunity of a lifetime.
At the beginning of the persecution, practitioner B stepped out to clarify the truth. However, he had too many human attachments during personal cultivation and he was not able to study the Fa well. He would be steadfast in cultivation one moment and then cooperate with the evil the next. He had a strong attachment to sentimentality and could not get rid of the attachment to lust.
In 2004, his illness worsened. He told his family, "The path to godhood is too difficult. I will just remain a human." Practitioner B died on the night he was sent to the hospital. This is an example of eternal regret for someone who tried very hard but gave up in the face of adversity.
Practitioner C rarely studied the Fa, did the exercises, or sent forth righteous thoughts. He has not read all of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Because he did not have a clear understanding of the CCP, he was persecuted by the evil specter and became ill. Practitioner C, however, firmly believes in Dafa and Teacher. Through sharing with fellow practitioners and searching inward for his attachments, he has become more diligent in studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts. He is slowly recovering.
These practitioners all experienced Teacher's mercy and salvation during their tribulations. For example, while in the hospital, the staff had difficulty inserting needles into practitioner A. When the needle was finally inserted, practitioner A "accidentally" knocked it out.
At critical moments, both practitioner A and B gave up on Dafa, and thus gave up the opportunity to extend their lives. Practitioner C, however, still firmly believed in Teacher and Dafa during the tribulation. With that single thought, Teacher is helping him eliminate the karma, and his condition is improving.
Practitioners who are experiencing illness karma should look within themselves to see if there is any long standing issue that has not been resolved. Have we done the three things Teacher asks us to do well?

I got to know about Falun Dafa a couple of years ago from some veteran practitioners who I used to meet often. They explained to me the basic concepts and the philosophy with a genuine concern for me to take up the practice. Very often, they shared stories of cultivation and the benefits that people have derived from the practice. I listened to them reluctantly, more out of politeness, because they seemed such good people at heart. I took everything they said very casually.
My wife was suffering from chronic ailments and a series of problems for a prolonged period. Many doctors of western and alternative medicines couldn't help her and her condition was deteriorating day by day. Besides this, she was transferred to another city, Secunderabad, as she is a Central Government employee. The relocation and making adjustments to a new life was traumatic and her condition worsened. Once, when she came to Bangalore on leave for a week I thought of introducing Falun Dafa practice to her.
At 6 a.m. on March 17, 2005, we were at the practice site. The veteran practitioners whom we knew taught us the exercises and were very kind and gentle with my wife. We picked up the exercises gradually and on only the second day my wife was sharing with them that within two days she had gotten relief from her long-standing pain to a large extent. I was pleasantly surprised to learn this and prepared myself with lots of plans on how my wife and I should progress in our practice. I thought to myself, within a week she should be trained well and then I should get her a tape-recorder so that when she returns to Secunderabad, she can practice on her own and come out of this chronic sickness. But the very next day she said she was not at all interested and would not continue the exercises. I now understand what Master means by predestined relationship, and we can't have any strong mind intent to change anyone's attitude or way of thinking.
Somehow, I continued on my path. Gradually, month-after-month I experienced a lot of improvement both physically and mentally. Many of my friends and colleagues perceived the changes in me and when I shared with them my experiences, most of them joined us. Every morning after the exercises, one of the veteran practitioners used to remind us to read the books and he used to quote the page numbers and the impact it can have on our thinking. But initially, I had this mental block about book reading. I used to argue with him that when our Hinduism and Vedas have got 5000 years of rich cultural heritage, and our centuries old scriptures talk about the same universal truths, why should I adopt a relatively recent ten-year-old unknown Chinese spiritual discipline. But with lots of forbearance, this practitioner did not relent and very compassionately tried again and again to change my rigid thinking. Finally, I decided to read the book. Every Sunday, we had a book reading session instead of exercise at the park. Reading in a group seemed so easy and somehow I could comprehend things better and we also exchanged our individual understanding. I gained better understanding and the way Master illustrates with interesting examples from everyday life made me continue to read lecture after lecture.
Recently, I have started an evening practice session at our office cafeteria with 4-5 colleagues. Others watch us in amusement but also with admiration. Many people are aware of this and employees who have visited the US have said they have seen people practicing there in parks. I am sure, soon they will join me and shortly I am planning to switch over our practice session to a newly developed park, which is in front of our office, and my vision is to have hundreds of practitioners gathering there. I will try not to get attached to my vision and hope to be guided by Master's grace.

In "Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago," Master said,
"I told you a long time ago that a Dafa disciple, or a cultivator, has no enemies. The only thing you have a role in is saving people, and you have nothing to do with using human means and human principles to punish or pronounce judgment on people."
Understanding the grave responsibilities a Dafa disciple shoulders, I have also believe that promoting the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and urging people to quit communist organizations is very important to saving the people of China. The following are a few examples of what I did in the past months. I hope fellow practitioners point out anything improper.
1. Distributing the Nine Commentaries in BeijingInitially I felt nervous upon arriving in Beijing, and felt quite unnatural when I first told people about quitting communist organizations. I could only give them the Nine Commentaries indirectly and then chat with them about quitting those organizations, always feeling an ineffable uneasiness after I returned to where I lived, since I understood that the fellow practitioners had produced these nice copies of Nine Commentaries in the hope of saving sentient beings.
One day, after studying one of Teacher's poems in Hong Yin, I asked myself if I still had the attachment to fear. I had previously experienced so many crucial tests, but didn't see that there was still the heart of fear hidden so deeply inside myself.
Then I eliminated the fear and brought the Nine Commentaries out to tell people face to face about quitting communist organizations. Near the front gate of China Central Television (CCTV), I gave a Nine Commentaries to a passerby, but he said: "Do you want to talk politics? I am not interested." I told him: "This is a good book that you cannot get even by spending a lot of money, and I'm giving it to you because of our predestined relationship." As I talked with him I sent forth a righteous thought to save him and kept only this one thought in mind.
The man opened the parcel and saw the Nine Commentaries. He immediately wrapped it up and put it in his bag and left with his family members. Seeing them walking away, I could not help but shed tears. Sentient beings have not totally gotten lost in the lies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and they are waiting to be saved by us.
2. Sending the Nine Commentaries to a TV station
A TV station is usually where the evil has tight control, but they too are sentient beings to whom we need to offer salvation. When I took the Nine Commentaries to a friend there, he said: "I heard of it, and will read it thoroughly at home." The more severely the CCP tries to keep it away from people, the more desirable it becomes.
Another friend at CCTV was not there because he was out on business. I awaited his return. It delayed my journey back home, but I thought it was worthwhile because he would not throw it away. Though they are key persons of a TV station, they should understand the CCP's evilness more clearly, and their hearts for justice should not be changed by the CCP.
3. Persuading my family to quit the CCPIn the beginning, whenever I urged them to quit the CCP and introduced the Nine Commentaries to them, the results were not good. The thought in my mind was that you are my family members so why shouldn't you understand my heart.
As a matter of fact, I treated them as my private treasure and believed that they must listen to me. After I studied the Fa, I found my thinking was wrong. They are my family members only because of our predestined relationship and they are also sentient beings to be saved. By putting my mind on the right basis, the situation changed; they all quit the CCP and became more supportive of my cultivation.
4. Clarifying the truth to my former husbandI have been divorced for over 8 years. Every time when I met my former husband, I told him how Dafa changed me. Although I said this conscientiously, he just ridiculed me. But I didn't lose heart and told him: "I don't need money and neither am I afraid of death, but I will continue the cultivation of Dafa forever."
He asked me: "Why should you be like this though you were arrested and could not return home?" I replied: "I have waited for the Fa, which does not come by in thousands of years."
After my sincere efforts for 7-8 years, he understood the truth at last. He quit the CCP after reading the Nine Commentaries. He also read Zhuan Falun. Seeing the change in him, I thought: As long as we do everything with a sincere heart, the hearts of sentient beings around us will finally be opened.

When she was one year old, her father was detained due to his appealing in Beijing on behalf of Falun Gong. Every day I took my daughter with me to the front door of the detention center and told people the truth about Falun Gong and why her father was illegally arrested. At that time my daughter was not able to talk, but she seemed to clarify the truth in her own way.
Later, her father was sent to a forced labor camp because he produced truth clarification materials. My daughter had already learned what to say and what not to say. Sometimes after coming home from a fellow practitioner's house or from a truth clarification materials production site, when someone asked where she had been, my daughter would simply say only the minimum such as, "Mommy and I were out somewhere." Then in private she would comment, "Mommy, I won't tell others where we went."
No matter what kind of weather, whether rain, sunshine, wind, or cold, if I was called to help out other practitioners, I would pick up my daughter and go right away. She never cried or fussed. At the fellow practitioner's place, she would play quietly by herself. Perhaps, often seeing her father behind bars, our daughter would stop at the iron gate of the neighborhood underground parking lot and call out "Daddy, Daddy!" every time we passed by there. She did not exactly know where her father was.
The second time my husband was arrested, he was on his way to take our three-year-old daughter to kindergarten. When three plain-clothed policemen pushed my husband down to the ground and carried him by force to the police car, our daughter was left alone to hold on to the leg of an old man and cried with terror, "Grandpa, I am scared. Grandpa, I am scared." As a result of this kind of shock, sometimes in the middle of her playing downstairs, my daughter might suddenly get scared and run up to the second floor crying that the bad policeman is coming when she saw someone with a handbag passing by.
When my daughter was one year old, I started to read Master's Hong Yin to her. At age two, she was able to recite her first poem, "In Harmony with the Fa" (December 27, 1992):
"Buddha's light illuminates everywhere,
Propriety and justice are perfected and illuminated.
Together, wholeheartedly strive upward,
The path ahead is bright."
While visiting her father in the forced labor camp, our daughter would whisper this poem into his ear so as not to be heard by the camp police. Soon after, she was able to remember all the 72 poems by Master. Then every day she would hold the poem book Hong Yin to read it by herself. At first I did not pay too much attention and thought that without knowing any of the characters, she could not really read the book. Surprisingly, through reciting the poems, at age three she was able to recognize many words through her own way of reading, without me teaching her. I could not help but exclaim with admiration at the wonder of Dafa. Since she studied Hong Yin every day, my daughter thoroughly remembered all the poems by heart.
I remember one time when my daughter was not yet three years old, during cultivation experience sharing I was telling a fellow practitioner that I felt tired being a single parent with my husband in the forced labor camp. Hearing this, my daughter stopped her playing alone and suddenly remarked by citing a line in the poem, "Mommy, 'Physical pains count little as suffering,' ("Tempering the Will" from Hong Yin" The fellow practitioner then said, "See, after all, your little girl knows better."
My daughter kept studying Hong Yin by herself. When she got a fever, she said, "Mommy, I don't feel well. Let's study the Fa." Then I would read Hong Yin to her and help her go to sleep for a while. After waking up, she would ask me to read and not to skip any poem. She also asked Teacher by saying, "Master, I am suffering. Please help me." Then she told me that she saw Falun rotating around her nose tip many times and flying away.
After she was four, my daughter started to read Zhuan Falun besides other books of fairy tales. Although there were some words that she did not know, that did not stop her from studying the Fa.
When my daughter was five, she took part in our twice-a-week group Fa study and read Zhuan Falun flawlessly. In our group, participants of all ages, from 5 to 70, studied the same book. I sensed that Master's enormous benevolence let us immerse ourselves in the Buddha light and diligently advance together, crossing the boundaries of our different ages.
Now our daughter is six years old. She has studied many lectures given in various places by Master. Usually she would measure her own actions of right or wrong with the Fa. What she said was usually based on the Fa. Occasionally when she did not study the Fa, she would cry and say, "I forgot to study the Fa. I forgot to study the Fa." Then she would stay up late to make up and study the Fa for a while before going to bed. This is as Teacher says in his poem, "Solid Cultivation" (October 7, 1994):
"Study Fa, obtain Fa,
Compare in studying, compare in cultivating,
Examine each and every deed,
Accomplishing is cultivating."
Sometimes, from my little daughter, I see my own shortcomings.
After traveling through many places, my daughter and I left China and went abroad. In this free country, every night we clarify the truth to the sightseeing tourists from China at a certain place until midnight. We have to take a long walk each day to get there and she is always reciting Master's poem, "Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions" (May 29, 2002)
"A Great Enlightened Being does not fear hardship
Having forged an adamantine will
And with no attachment to living or dying
He walks his path of Fa-rectification openly and nobly"
My daughter never complains or cries because she knows that our clarifying the truth is to save people. Whenever I see Chinese tourists receive the truth-clarification newspaper from her little hands, I realize that Master is around us at every moment.

Solemn Declaration
I am not a Dafa practitioner but, knowing that Dafa is good, I always speak and act on behalf of Dafa. However, under the multiple pressures of having my mother imprisoned illegally for an extended period of time due to her steadfast belief in Dafa, my father being very ill and on the verge of mental collapse, and my younger brother being left to my care, I went to the detention center where my mother was illegally imprisoned, to force my mother to write the Three Statements, with the hope that my mother could be released and come back home. Later on I regretted my actions very much, and realized that I had made a terrible mistake. I hereby declare that all I said and did which was not according to Dafa is null and void. I will be more steadfast in supporting Dafa and staying away from the evil.

During the late morning of September 14, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Guo Yulong was arrested from his home by police from Zhenxing Station in Panjin City, Liaoning Province. He is currently detained at the Liaozhong County Police Department State Security Division.
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Fan Haiqin and Her Family Members from Dongshan District Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Haiqin owns a small food service business. She was sentenced to three years in prison in July 2000 because she firmly continued practicing Falun Gong. She is still cultivating Falun Dafa after having been released. At 7 p.m. on the same day, another Village Security Chair, Zhang Dianmin (female), leading five people from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office and Police Department, stormed into Ms. Wang's home, ransacked her house, and arrested her. Ms. Wang was illegally taken to the Zhaoyuan City brainwashing class.

4. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wan Lanqing and Others Arrested and Detained
On August 8, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wan Lanqing (Senior Doctor in the City People's Hospital) was arrested when passing out truth clarifying materials.
On August 28, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Feng Jiandong and Mr. Zeng Shihai were arrested.
On September 7, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Jin and his wife Cheng Aiyang, and another fellow practitioner, Ms. Liu Xuefei, were arrested. Mr. Jin escaped soon after.
Around 8 p.m. on September 8, 2005, approximately 16 policemen stormed into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Fengying's house and took away her computer, printer, movable drive, MP3 player, cell phone, e-book, and a few truth clarifying materials. Ms. Zhou was sent to Taoyuan Police Station around midnight. She escaped around 6:40 a.m. the next morning with righteous thoughts.
On September 9, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Bitao was arrested.
5. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yulan and Others Are Arrested
At 10 p.m. on September 16, 2004, Pinquan County Police Department State Security Division Head Hu Qiwen (male) led seven or eight agents and climbed over the garden wall, entered Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yulan's home, arrested Ms. Liu and her son (a teenager), and sent them to a detention center. Ms. Liu Yulan went on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention, and they were released unconditionally after 51 days.
At 3 p.m. on July 22, 2005, Hu Qiwen and another agent Yu (male) suddenly stormed into Mr. Wang Shuwen's home (Ms. Liu Yulan's husband), and took the Falun Dafa book, Guiding the Voyage from Mr. Wang's hands.
6. [Gaizhou City,Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Tingshi, Mr Zhang Defang and Mr. Sun Xianhui from Xiongyue Town Abducted
On the evening of September 4, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhao Tingshi, Mr Zhang Defang and Mr. Sun Xianhui from Xiongyue Town, Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province were reported when passing out truth clarifying materials in Yangyun Township, and were arrested by police from Yangyun Station. The police took away their farming vehicle and detained them in the Gaizhou City Detention Center.
Mr. Zhang Defang was released unconditionally on September 13, 2005.

On May 18, 2005, Dongyang Village security officials in Guiyu Town, Chaoyang District of Shantou City, under orders from the the Shantou City 610 Office, arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Guo Kaixia and took her to a brainwashing center in Shantou City. On the afternoon of May 19, Ms. Guo's father and her two younger sisters went to the home of a village security official to inquire about her, but several security officials knocked Mr. Guo to the ground and kicked him. Ms. Guo's two younger sisters were also kicked and injured.
On the morning of September 8, 2005, the 610 Office of Guiyu Town, Chaoyang District, and Shantou City lead by the Dongyang Village government, drove three vehicles to surround Mr. Guo Songkui's home, abducted Mr. Guo Songkui and his second daughter Guo Kaiyun, and took them to the brainwashing class in Shantou City.
8. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Fengdi Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Fengdi was reported when she was clarifying the truth to her employer, and she was arrested on September 12, 2005 by Maoming City State Security Division Agents and 610 Office workers. They also ransacked her home.

On September 13, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Xie Chunying and Mr. Tao Dehuai were both arrested on the road by police.

Facts of the Persecution
1. Some Persecution Facts in Huaibei Prison
Prison guards in the Huaibei Prison, Shandong Province cruelly tortured Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Shufu, 68, wrote a solemn declaration to return to cultivation. Mr. Li was shocked with an electric baton until he passed out and was carried out of the room by Officer Song Gaoli (female). He is now detained in the Second Ward of the Prison. Mr. Yan Xuefu and Mr. Yu Tongzhi were both shocked simultaneously by two electric batons to their heads, causing severe injury to their ears, noses and mouths. As they were being shocked, blood sprayed out from their faces. The prison guards then had the prisoners clean up the blood with mops!
Another Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Li Guang, who was firmly cultivating Falun Dafa, was brutally tortured by guards, and died while locked in a small, cold cell. More Falun Dafa practitioners are now enduring such tortures in the prison.

2. More Details of Ms. Zhu Yourong's Torture Death Case
Ms. Zhu Yourong was beaten in the labor camp until her face and eyes became swollen. In order to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong, prison guards cuffed her to a tree every day, beat her until she passed out, and then poured cold water on her to wake her up. Her pants and socks were ripped up due to brutal beatings. Her younger brother came to visit her, but prison guards did not let him see her.
When she went on a hunger strike, the prison guards tied her up and force-fed her. Her mouth bled due to the brutal force-feedings. After Ms. Zhu Yourong went on hunger strike for a long period of time, prison guards continued to force her to walk the yard. If she felt too weak to walk, the prison guards beat and kicked her, or poured cold water over her to freeze her.
She could not take these inhuman tortures any longer and died while in solitary confinement in December 2000, at the relatively young age of 42.

(Clearwisdom.net) What one sees and hears has a subtle influence on one's thoughts and moral values. Once a notion is deeply rooted in one's heart, it becomes habitual and natural. Naturally, such a notion will be reflected in one's conduct. As Confucius said, "Do not look at what is not in accordance with decorum; do not listen to what is not in accordance with decorum; do not speak when it is not in accordance with decorum; do not act when it is not in accordance with decorum."
In "Melt Into the Fa" in Essentials for Further Advancement Master Li Hongzhi also said,
"A person is like a container, and he is whatever he contains. All of what a person sees with the eyes and hears with the ears are: violence, lust, power struggles in literary works, struggles for profit in the practical world, money worship, other manifestations of demon-nature, and so on. With his head filled with these, this kind of person is truly a bad person, no matter what he appears to be. A person's behavior is dictated by his thoughts. With a mind full of such things, what's a person able to do?"
In Zizhi Tongjian ,(an important Chinese history text) there is an account of how Jia Yi, then the Primer Minister of the State of Liang, appealed to Emperor Hanwen with regard to how to educate the prince in virtue and decorum. In the appeal, he said:
"Once upon a time there was a great emperor in ancient times who followed the rule of decorum to treat his prince as soon as he was born. Well dressed and well behaved, all the officials were on the way to the southern part of the city to celebrate. Whenever they passed by a gate of the emperor, they got off the cart and paid their respects. Whenever they passed by a temple, they walked quickly with small steps. As a result, from the time he was an infant, the prince started to learn everything about virtue and decorum.
"When the prince became older and had a better understanding of things, the responsible officials started to teach him filial piety, benevolence, ritual, and mutual obligation. They kept him away from wicked people and wicked conduct. In the meantime, the emperor began to prudently choose among ordinary people those who were honest, respectful to their parents, loved their brothers and sisters, and were knowledgeable and capable of administrating the nation to protect, help, and get along with the prince.
"From the time he was born, the prince had seen only righteous conduct, heard only righteous speeches, and was surrounded by only honest people. Just as people who lived in the State of Qi could only speak the Qi dialect, the prince, who had been surrounded by only honest and righteous people, would naturally have righteous thoughts, give righteous speeches, and act righteously. In contrast, whoever lives with dishonest people will gradually become dishonest, just as whoever lived in the State of Chu would have to speak the Chu dialect.
"Confucius said, 'As habit formed from a very early age is to one's character, what's habitual becomes natural.' When learning decorum and developing intelligence go together, they strengthen each other so that sharing one's thoughts will not be an issue at all. As one is educated, one's own opinions are also formed. In the end, virtue and decorum become just like one's inborn character.
"The reason that the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties lasted for such long periods of time is because of the system that educated and helped the princes. In the Qin Dynasty, however, things changed dramatically. The First Qin Emperor (Qin Shi Huang) dispatched Zhao Gao to become the teacher of Hu Hai, the emperor's second son. What Zhao taught Hu was court judgments and sentencing, including executing people, cutting people's nostrils, and annihilating the three generations of a family. The second day Hu became the new emperor, he shot arrows at people, took those who were brave enough to honestly criticize as slandering the administration, and labeled those who were thoughtful of the nation's future as deceiving the public with wicked speeches. In addition, he treated killing people as casually as cutting grass. Was that because of Hu's vicious inborn character? Certainly not. It was the result of Zhao Gao's teachings that induced Hu to learn all these wicked things.
"Northerners or southerners, when they were first born, they cried in the same way, and they all desired to drink milk. As they have grown up, however, they have learned different customs, formed different habits, and started to speak different languages. The dialects they speak often differ so much that they cannot understand each other even with an interpreter. Some people vow that they would rather die than live in the other region. Such a tremendous difference comes entirely from education and habit.
"That is why I insist that it is imperative to choose who comes in contact and associates with the prince and educate him as early as possible."
There is a saying, "He who nears red ink (or vermilion) shall become red; he who touches black ink (or pitch) shall become black." The environment has a great influence on one's virtue and decorum. He who nears the good becomes good; he who nears the bad becomes bad. If everyone we have contact with is honest and righteous, if all we see and hear are healthy and good visual arts, good books, or good music, we will naturally be positively influenced and develop in the right direction. On the other hand, if all we are in touch with are wicked and vicious people and if all we are filled with are lust and violence, we will develop in the wrong direction or start to decay.
