A Young Practitioner: Falun Dafa Remade My Life

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Xiaoming and I am fourteen years old, from Hunan Province. I began practicing Falun Dafa in early 2005, and soon the rhinitis and stomach problems I suffered from disappeared. Even my brain tumor disappeared. After eight months of cultivation practice I became a very healthy person and truly felt the joy of relief, thanks to Master and Dafa, who gave me this new life.

In 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Dafa, my aunt, a practitioner, often told me stories about Dafa. Since I was young and ignorant and also because the persecution was severe at that time, with slanderous propaganda all over, I did not believe what my aunt said. However, I still reasoned in my mind, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" - there is nothing wrong about these words at all. Why would anyone need to persecute something like that? Ever since my aunt started practicing Falun Gong, she had become nicer to people and worked with greater diligence than before. I wondered, why are good people such as her being sent to brainwashing centers?

In 2003 I began to suffer from severe headaches. When my aunt came back from Shaoyang and saw me, she encouraged me to earnestly say, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great," and "Falun Dafa is great." I felt a strong response in my mind. I decided to test it out and sincerely recited, "Falun Dafa is good" every day.

I had been sick ever since birth. More money was spent on my medical condition than both my parents' health insurance amounted to. Every three months I would suffer from a minor illness and a major one every few years. As a child I suffered from severe rhinitis as well as severe stomach problems. These illnesses made me extremely weak. In July 2004, a tumor was discovered in my head. I began suffering severely painful headaches, to the point where I vomited and could not eat or sleep well. My parents took me to the best hospitals around the country to find treatment, but the suggested remedies they received were disheartening. I was hanging between life and death while my family's money supply was drying out. My parents were in despair.

But benevolent Master never gave up on me. In 2004, with the help of other practitioners, my aunt was able to return home and patiently talked with my mom and me. She told us many amazing stories about Dafa.

At the beginning of 2005, my mom and I began the path of cultivation and overcame many difficulties. Eight months later, cultivation practice has made me healthy and strong, in addition to curing my rhinitis and stomach problems, as well as the brain tumor that could have taken my life. Now I feel both healthy and happy.

Through studying the Fa, I have improved my mind and strengthened my body. Before, I was argumentative and selfish, often breaking into arguments with my sister over trivial matters. Through Dafa I am able to understand that gains and losses in this world should not matter to practitioners and that one should conduct oneself with high standards when in conflict with others. As a practitioner, I should be compassionate with all people, not to mention my own sister. After looking inside myself I found that my selfishness was due to protecting my own interests. After correcting this attitude, I never fought with my sister again. Now, whenever something does not proceed according to my wishes, I no longer feel upset, but rather notice a sense of comfort and joy. Under Master's guidance, I learned that the things of ordinary humans are nothing. No matter how much you are attached to something, be it fame, self-interest, or emotion, eventually it is all in vain. The only thing that is real is Dafa. I am sure that Dafa is the best, for Dafa has reshaped my life.

In the process of cultivation, I conform to Dafa's standards and adhere to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and nothing else.

I know that I still have not let go of enough human attachments and notions to rise to a better level. I will set higher standards for myself, follow the Fa as my teacher, and walk well the cultivation path that Master has arranged for me.
