Denmark: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Night of Culture in Copenhagen (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) October 14, 2005 was a cultural night in the Danish
capital of Copenhagen. The most ancient city in Northern Europe attracts
tourists from all over the world with its pronounced, elegant cultural
atmosphere. This year happens to be the bi-centennial anniversary of celebrated
Danish author Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, so the cultural night's
program was richer than usual. After dark, people crowded to each activity
center in the city to participate in various folk festivities. Falun Gong practitioners from Copenhagen and Malmo in Sweden
joined the happy crowd. The beautiful celestial maiden attire worn by some of
the women practitioners formed a contrast with the golden exercise uniforms. A
song composed by practitioners entitled, "Falun Dafa is Good,"
combined with a gentle Lotus Dance and a peaceful demonstration of the exercises
brought a surreal harmony into the bustling scene. Falun Gong leaflets and paper
lotus flowers allowed the audience to learn more about Falun Gong. The audience showed their appreciation with ardent applause and some could
not help but follow the movements of the exercises. Some had long chats with
practitioners about the current and future state of China, the practice of Falun
Gong, life experiences, economic benefits and the concept of value in this
world. Following a long talk with practitioners, two monks from Southeast Asia noted
down the Falun Gong website so that they could learn about Falun Gong in greater
detail. In the crowd there were also many tourists from Mainland China. Some were
young students, yet their minds were filled with the propaganda spread by the
Chinese Communist Party. In the festive atmosphere, they felt much more relaxed.
Practitioners talked pleasantly and sincerely with them and after a
heart-to-heart exchange, they parted ways in a friendly manner. The
practitioners hope that they might begin to think differently about Falun Gong.
