Mayor of Xiangcheng City Actively Persecuted Practitioners, He and His Family Meet with Karmic Retribution
(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture,
the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable
for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun
Gong is the characteristic of the universe,
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward
actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating,
torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another
way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due
retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a
compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit
wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely
"following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held
responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of
wrongdoing may they escape retribution. Meng Weizhong, Mayor of Xiangcheng City, Henan Province, actively followed
former president Jiang Zemin's regime to brutally persecute Falun Dafa
practitioners. In October 2003 he had a car accident on the Beijing-Zhuhai
highway and died of severe injuries. Meng Weizhong viciously persecuted practitioners and profusely slandered
Falun Dafa in many of his speeches on different occasions. During the lawless
officials' brutal persecution of practitioners, Meng Weizhong participated in
the conspiracies against practitioners. His hands were covered in practitioners'
blood. In June 2001, Mayor Meng Weizhong joined forces with Tian Liang from the
610 Office and police officers Ma Zefeng, Zhou Qingwu, Wei Jianhua
and Liu Yuqing from the Xiangcheng City Political Security Department. They
abducted practitioners, ransacked their homes, extorted money from them, and
forced many of them to abandon their homes and their families. Following Meng Weizhong's death, his local Discipline Monitoring Department
found evidence of his corruption and bribery. Soon afterwards, Meng's son was
sentenced to prison for participating in a gang rape. Meng's wife could not
handle this series of tragedies. She attempted to hang herself but was rescued
in time. October 15, 2005
