"Mom, Please Get Up and Send Forth Righteous Thoughts"

(Clearwisdom.net) For the last two weeks, I have had a strong attachment to comfort and clearly felt the interference from the dark minions and rotten demons. I fell asleep at 12 midnight and could not get up at 6 a.m. to send forth righteous thoughts. As soon as I woke up in the morning I felt guilty; however I could not change this state. Recently I had symptoms of a cold, and my son was in the same state.

At 5 a.m. on October 5, 2005 my son had a fever, and I also had headache. Suddenly I heard my son speak, but I did not pay attention and continued to sleep.

Soon after, my son shouted, "Mom, I'm scared. Please get up and send forth righteous thoughts!" I asked him what happened. He replied, "A snake! I saw a green snake and a tiger!" My son pointed at the ceiling. I immediately sat up, but because I was so tired, my righteous thoughts did not have any effect. My son screamed and pointed at the quilt: "They are biting me. I'm scared!" He began to cry. I held him in my arms and said: "Don't be scared. Master is protecting us. Ask Master to help you."

I braced myself up and focused my attention on sending forth righteous thoughts. After a while my son calmed down and said, "They are gone." I told him to go to sleep. As soon as he lay down, he said, "They are coming again. I saw Ultraman (1), a monster without eyes, and robots." I asked if he liked Ultraman, and told him to have Ultraman beat the monster. My son said, "He won't fight the monster!" I said, "Let's send forth righteous thoughts." My son closed his eyes and sent forth righteous thoughts with me, he said: "I see monsters whenever I close my eyes, and they disappear when I open my eyes." My son sat for a while and then fell asleep. I checked the time and it was 5:45 a.m. My son broke into a sweat, and his fever receded.

My son watched a lot of Ultraman cartoons in kindergarten. He liked the character a lot. He also had many Ultraman shoes, toys, and books. I knew this attachment was not good for him, but he did not listen. He always said, "All the kids like him, and he beats monsters. He is powerful." Because I was not strict with my son, he rarely studied the Fa. He is attached to ordinary people's things, so the dark minions and rotten demons were able to exploit his attachment.

I have studied only Zhuan Falun recently. Today I read Master's "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A." Master said:

"When a cultivator's mind departs from the Fa, the evil will find its way in."

And,

"Let me tell you, all those who remain and that can persecute Dafa and Dafa disciples are due to our students themselves. Students who haven't taken sending forth righteous thoughts seriously: the evil in the dimensions that you are supposed to shoulder and be responsible for has not been eliminated. That's the cause. So you must take sending forth righteous thoughts seriously. No matter whether you think you have the ability or not, you should do it."

I deeply believe that our benevolent Master is urging me to cultivate diligently. I also regret that I have not taken care of my son better. Now I read the Fa to him every day before bedtime. "Mom, let's study the Fa," he now often eagerly asks. Furthermore, he has discarded the Ultraman books and toys.
