By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. I was arrested several times over the years for clarifying the truth. In February 2000, I was detained for 26 days and fined 5,500 yuan because I appealed for Falun Gong in Beijing. In November 2000, I was arrested again and detained for 20 days for mailing truth clarification materials to government offices. In February 2001, I was arrested for the third time and sent to a brainwashing class, then to the local detention center for one year. On March 16, 2004, I lost my freedom again. I was sentenced to one and a half years at the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province.

After CCTV aired the program about the so-called "self-immolation" during the Spring Festival in 2001, the CCP launched a campaign to forcibly "transform" Falun Gong practitioners and opened brainwashing centers all over China. In February 2001, 5 people, including the heads of our institution, were waiting in my house to "perform a public service." I tried to refuse to attend the brainwashing class, but they gave me no choice.

I was taken to the brainwashing class located at the police station, where wicked staff members read material that slanders Dafa. One night, a policeman called my husband and attempted to convince him to pressure me into renouncing my belief. In the class I clarified the truth to them, saying, "Falun Gong guides people to be compassionate and provides them with healthy bodies and high moral standards. What's wrong with that?"

Huang Banghua, the Secretary of the City Committee of Political Science and Law shouted at me, "What Jiang Zemin says is good is good! What Jiang Zemin says is bad is bad! Jiang Zemin says you may not practice, so you must give it up! I used to be a soldier, so don't think for one minute I can't handle you, you Falun Gong practitioner!"

I was taken to the Xuyong County Detention Center, where I conducted a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On the fifth day of my hunger strike, the camp staff tried to force-feed me, which injured my esophagus and lungs. Sometime later, I was handcuffed to a wooden door in a way usually reserved for death row inmates. They injected me with a certain drug, and I have no memory of what happened after that. My family members heard that I was in a coma and hadn't eaten for half a month. They came to see me and asked with tears in their eyes, "Why do you have to hunger strike like this?"

I said, "I'm doing this in protest of their persecution of me. I'm not a criminal, so I won't eat the food of the detention center."

The policemen tried to force me to write a renunciation letter and agree to be interviewed on local television, which I, of course, refused to do. I was detained beyond the end of my term. I appealed, but eventually I was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

In the 7^th team of the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp, I was frequently persecuted by the policemen and criminals with the torture of "squatting", deprived usage of the toilet, and handcuffed to the bed at night. Additionally, I had to endure beatings and verbal abuse by the criminals.

To my shame, I compromised with the evil, but then the team leader Zhang Xiaofang was forcing the Falun Gong practitioners to spit on a hand-drawn portrait of Teacher, which I refused to do and was punished. Then I was forced to take the "learning and improvement class," accompanied by personal monitors.

During the Spring Festival, the ranking police officer, Li Qi, found out that I was still practicing Falun Gong. After she accused me, she incited several criminals to tie my legs up and gag me with a towel. After three hours my legs were black and blue. After that, I was sent to the "strict management class" on the fourth floor where I suffered relentless brainwashing.

I was finally released in August 2005, and I resumed my role in the Fa-rectification. To eliminate the negative impact of my misconduct, I hereby declare that my words and deeds under forced brainwashing are null and void. I decided to start from scratch and return to my true self through cultivation, and I will regard the Fa as Teacher, and do well the three things every day.
