(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Qiao Zhiqiang, 66 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Nankou Town, Changping District, Beijing. He benefited both physically and mentally after starting to practice in 1996. After July 20, 1999, because he persisted in practicing, the 610 Office, police, and residential committee in Nankou Town harassed his home many times and kept him under surveillance. On May 3, 2001, the police broke into his house, took him to Changping Detention Center and subjected him to abuse. Then, he was sent to a brainwashing class in Xifeng Mountain, where he was subjected to both physical and mental abuse. After being released from the brainwashing class, he was often harassed and threatened by the authorities. He was also sent newspapers that had articles slandering Falun Gong. Due to the long-term persecution, he suffered from diabetes and stomach cancer and passed away on May 14, 2005.

Ms. Zhou Guangxian, 62, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province. She suffered from several diseases before practicing Falun Gong, in particular a serious heart condition. After practicing Falun Gong, she fully recovered from her illnesses and could even perform some labor. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, the Communist Party applied great mental pressure on her, especially in 2001. Her son and daughter-in-law were illegally put into labor camp because they practiced Falun Gong. Zhou suffered greatly, which led to heart disease, and she passed away in April 2001. She left behind a handicapped daughter.

Mr. Qu Jingshan, 72, was from Mingcheng Town, Panshi City, Jilin Province, and his whole family practiced Falun Gong. Before 1996 he had chronic lung disease and asthma for 40 years. He took medicine and shots for many years. After he started practicing, his health became much better and he never needed medicine or shots. In the spring of 2001, his wife and daughter were arrested because they tried to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, and his home was searched. His wife was detained for 60 days, and his daughter was sent to a labor camp for one year. Placed under great emotional strain and stress because of everything happening to his family, he died on September 13, 2001.

Mr. Zeng Song, 29, was a Falun Gong practitioner in a textile factory in Langzhong City, Sichuan Province. In October 1999, he was taken to a detention center by the security police, and was forced to write a guarantee not to practice Falun Gong any longer. In December 2002, he was detained once again and persecuted. Security officials harassed him at his home many times and forced him to quit his job. Placed under great mental strain, he died in May 2005.

Ms. Liang Yushu, 65, was a retired teacher in the No. 30 Middle School in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She used to have asthma, but after starting to practice Falun Gong at the end of 1998, she got better and also became more even-tempered. After July 20, 1999, her family believed the Jiang regime's deceitful propaganda and did not allow Liang to continue practicing Falun Gong. Afterwards, Liang's illnesses came back and although she was sent to a hospital three times, she passed away in August 2001.
