By a Falun Dafa practitioner from Northeast China

(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Dafa eight years ago. Under Teacher's benevolent protection, I persevered through tribulations and persecution. With more in-depth Fa study, I came to truly understand the great mission of saving sentient beings that Falun Dafa disciples carry.

After July 20 1999, I went to Beijing to validate the Fa several times. In 2000, I was illegally detained and sentenced to three years imprisonment. When reading Teacher's article "Rationality," I came to realize that being willingly detained at a forced labor camp is the same as agreeing to be taken away by the evil. When I enlightened to this, the labor camp unconditionally released me.

During these past few years as I distributed truth-clarification materials or clarified the truth face-to-face, I often faced danger. However, each time Teacher helped me and rescued me. My understanding is that as long as we believe in Teacher and Dafa on our cultivation path, we can brave through anything no matter how difficult it appears to be.

2. Selfishness and denying the old forces

Teacher asked us to expose the vicious people and the inhumane persecution in our own areas. However, I had a strong attachment of fear at that time. I quivered at the thought of exposing the evil. With more Fa study, I came to realize that I had the following issues. First, I took the attachment of fear as myself while in fact it was the evil in other dimensions that was afraid to be exposed. Secondly, I didn't understand what Teacher said from the Fa. Therefore I made judgments based on everyday people's notions that exposing the evils would make the persecution even worse. Thirdly, I wasn't aware that exposing the evil saves sentient beings.

When I looked inside, I became clear on the Fa principles. Soon I got rid of the elements that caused my attachment of fear. The part of me that obtained the Fa started to take control. I publicized all the persecution that I suffered in the previous few years without missing anything. The evil elements that interfered with my validating the Fa completely disintegrated. I came to realize that we cannot just say we deny the old forces. We should do what Teacher tells us to do. When we do that, we are truly denying the old forces and we are truly walking down the cultivation path arranged by Teacher. The evil persecution was forced on us by the old forces. Teacher told us,

"And you shouldn't acknowledge them either. Do things well in an upright and dignified way, negate them, and strengthen your righteous thoughts some. 'I'm Li Hongzhi's disciple, I don't want other arrangements or acknowledge them'" ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")

3. A sense of being one body

For several years I had been busy clarifying the truth. One day, a fellow practitioner said something that suddenly made me remember what Teacher said about improving as one body. There were still so many fellow practitioners that hadn't stepped forward. If I could distribute one hundred truth-clarifying handouts, then we could have distributed one thousand handouts if we had ten practitioners doing this. Being one body is powerful. We Dafa practitioners are all particles of the Fa. Yet, we are one body. Therefore, it will affect the whole body if one of the particles has problems. Hasn't Teacher been waiting for us to improve as one body? I started to visit fellow practitioners to share understandings on the Fa. I finally came out of my personal cultivation state and began carrying out my mission of saving sentient beings.

4. Only by continuously correcting ourselves can we take the right cultivation path

Since the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, we had more things to do along our cultivation path. Besides helping people know the truth of the Fa, we need to lead them to read the Nine Commentaries so they can see through the evil characteristics of the Chinese Communist Party and quit the party and its organizations. This is to help save people as well. After Fa-study and reading the Nine Commentaries myself, I came to know that we are here to save the world's people. Therefore, I tried my best to keep a pure heart, a heart to save people, when I clarified the truth to them. I'm not separated from other people, whether they are my relatives, my friends, or strangers. They are all my family. They are all waiting earnestly for Dafa practitioners to save them! Don't forget:

"Dafa disciples are now sentient beings' only, sole hope for salvation." ("Righteous Thoughts")

During the process of clarifying the truth, I gradually got rid of my selfishness. The old cosmos is selfish while the new one requires we consider others first. Fa-rectification Dafa disciples should continuously rectify ourselves to reach the standard of the new cosmos. I read Teacher's latest articles. I feel that as the Fa-rectification progresses, the Fa's requirements on practitioners are higher and higher. Therefore we need to study the Fa well and continuously correct ourselves. We need to be righteous in everything that we do. We need to accumulate our mighty virtue. Being "......full of great aspirations while minding minor details," we can save more people. ("Sage" from Essentials for Further Advancement) On our final path to godhood, we must walk it righteously so as not to let down Teacher and the sentient beings that have high expectations of us.
