CCP SHUTTERS PROMINENT LAWYER'S FIRM AFTER HE PUBLICIZED "BARBARIC" PERSECUTION OF FALUN GONG
BEIJING (Washington Post)--Judicial authorities in Beijing have shut down the law firm of a prominent civil rights lawyer after he refused to withdraw an open letter urging President Hu Jintao to respect freedom of religion and stop persecuting members of the banned Falun Gong spiritual movement... "The persecution of Falun Gong compatriots by some local officials has already reached the point where they are doing whatever they please," [lawyer] Gao [Zhisheng] wrote in the open letter. "We cannot accept these brazenly inhumane, savage atrocities to occur in the society of mankind in the 21st century."

CHINESE GOVERNOR MISSING FROM DELEGATION IN WASHINGTON DC AFTER BEING SUED
WASHINGTON DC (FDI)--On October 25, the chief perpetrator of the persecution of Falun Gong in Guangdong Province, Governor Huang Huahua, did not show up in Washington DC with a provincial delegation he was leading. Several days prior, during his visit to Canada, Huang was sued by Falun Gong practitioners and served with a court summons for his role in the suppression of Falun Gong in China. On October 17, U.S. attorneys also filed a lawsuit against Huang for torture. It is widely believed that Huang abandoned his own delegation lest he face further legal action in the U.S.

TEARS AND BLOOD IN DALIAN CITY: WOMAN RAPED BY CAPTORS, FORCE-FED FECES
NEW YORK (FDI)--37-year-old Ms. Sun Yan lived in Dalian City, and had been recognized as a "Model Young Worker" at Dalian Petrochemical Corporation where she worked. Since July 1999, however, when China's communist leadership launched the nationwide campaign to "eradicate" Falun Gong, Sun has been repeatedly abducted by authorities and held in detention centers and prison camps simply because she practices Falun Gong. During that time, Sun has suffered vulgar forms of torture, such as "hip splitting," in which victims are tied up spread-eagle and broom handles or sticks are thrust into their vaginas while they are beaten about the body. She was also force-fed feces and subjected to violent and repeated rubbing of the vagina with a knotted coarse rope until it swelled up. After suffering such torture Sun and other victims bleed profusely from the vagina, cannot urinate and, in some cases, become crippled. Today, Sun remains in police custody and continues to be tortured...
