Investigation of the Zhejiang Beggar Murder Case in 2003

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 26, 2003, a series of homicides in which beggars and scrap collectors were poisoned and killed took place in Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province. The Xinhua News Agency declared that the case had been solved on the night of July 1, and groundlessly claimed that the suspect, Chen Fuzhao, was a Falun Gong practitioner. The Xinhua News Agency and the CCTV subsequently used this case to slander and attack Falun Gong. On December 30, 2003, the intermediate court in Wenzhou City sentenced Chen Fuzhao to death.

In 2005, I personally went to Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province to investigate this case.

Chen Fuzhao was a resident of Dongpai Village in Longgang Town. People who knew him or grew up with him, friends and senior citizens, all knew for a fact that he had suffered from a mental disorder ever since he was a child.

According to his friends and other villagers, he often displayed strange behavior when he was young. For instance, when his mental illness acted up all of a sudden, he would jump into a river for no reason at all. His speech seldom made sense, and everyone knew that he was a mental patient. Consequently, people who were aware of this fact were very angry after seeing the CCTV report that used Chen Fuzhao to smear Falun Gong.

Many people who knew Chen Fuzhao said that the local people were clear about Falun Gong, even though CCTV made such a claim. They know that the Chinese Communist Party can only fool people temporarily and it can only fool those who do not understand the truth. So, it turns out that the CCTV's tactics of deception can actually help many people to understand that Falun Gong is being framed. The truth will eventually be revealed to the whole world.
