Singapore: Practitioners Urge Police not to Interfere with Practitioners' Truth-clarification Activities (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, when practitioners in Singapore explained the facts about Falun Gong in busy areas and subway stations, uniformed or plainclothes police followed and took photos and video footage. In front of the Chinese Embassy, practitioners practiced the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. Police there also took photos and video footage. Sometimes, police drove away passersby who stopped to read the truth-clarification posters. Police even wrote down their ID numbers. A police vehicle was intentionally parked in front of the posters to block the view.

Before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, practitioners in Singapore could freely practice. But because of the CCP's threats and inducements, the Singapore government and police have treated practitioners unfairly during the last several years.

Practitioners called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China and to bring perpetrators to justice in front of Chinese Embassy every day after practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong was disfigured and killed in June this year. Initially police wrote down the practitioners' ID numbers. Practitioners explained the facts to them every time and hoped they could understand why they were appealing in front of the Embassy. The police know the facts and the practitioners, but still wrote down their ID numbers. Later, practitioners declined to give their ID numbers.

At 11:00 a.m. on November 2, I saw in front of the Chinese Embassy two police officers stopping a police vehicle in front of practitioners and their posters to block the view. One police officer took video footage of practitioners and passersby. The other police officer drove away passersby who looked at the posters and wrote down their ID numbers. One passerby asked, "Can I look at the posters?" Police told him not to interfere with their execution of public duty.

Near noon, a lady came and wanted to report to police that her boss treated her unfairly. One practitioner told the police that they should take care of their duties and not to impede the practitioners' efforts to clarify the truth. Another practitioner also asked the police to treat practitioners fairly.

After 12:10 p.m., before leaving, the practitioners urged the police not to commit wrongdoings against Falun Gong. One police officer said in a hurry, "OK. OK. You better leave soon."

The Tanglin Police Divisional Headquarters is in charge of the area of the Chinese Embassy.
