Let Us Not Forget to Cultivate Ourselves as We Seize the Moment to Clarify the Truth

"We expose the evildoers and that vile party in order to stop the wicked persecution, and it is done to awaken and save the sentient beings who have been deceived by the evil." --- "We are Not 'Getting Political'"

I understand based on Fa principles that Fa rectification period Dafa disciples are endowed with tremendous responsibilities! To truly help the world's people enter the future era, we must help them see the evil Party for what it is. We must eradicate from their minds the Party's logic formed after long-term brainwashing. We must help non-practitioners understand the truth about Dafa and be offered salvation. It is urgent to help people quit the Party and to clarify the truth about Dafa to them. We have to do both in combination.

For the past few years I have clarified the truth online about the framing of Dafa and the persecution of Dafa practitioners. More and more people have learned the truth and showed support toward Dafa. Many people, however, are still waiting to hear the truth from Dafa practitioners. After Master commented on the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party I looked back. I realized profoundly why some people refused to think rationally about this persecution, no matter how much I told them. They were looking at things from within the Party culture. Such thinking is in line with the Party's so-called "logic." The Nine Commentaries have changed certain people, who are now willing to listen to the truth. I want to share some of my experiences with fellow practitioners, so we can encourage each other.

After learning the truth, many acquaintances I met online said they wanted to learn the exercises and asked for online versions of the Falun Dafa books. Some of them have started studying the Fa and doing the exercises. One day when I was chatting online he suddenly asked me, "I'm reading "Zhuan Falun." Which lecture do you think this is from?" After he read an excerpt I answered without hesitation, "It's the first talk!" "No, it's the ninth talk!" Prior to this incident I always thought that since I read Zhuan Falun on a daily basis, that I was very familiar with the content, but my friend gave me a wake-up call. I always looked forward to Fa study, but when I actually sat down and studied the Fa, I thought about clarifying the truth online. This is a serious issue, because I was not now studying the Fa with reverence and a pure heart as I did before. This negatively impacted my righteous thoughts and truth clarification. Master said,

"Then if your mind isn't on the Fa when you're studying the Fa, who are you studying it for? This isn't to criticize you--I'm just telling you that this is a really critical situation. So, no matter how busy you get, when you study the Fa you have to set aside all other thoughts--don't think about other things at all, just study the Fa." --- "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A"

I became deeply aware that at the current time we must pay more attention to Fa study, give up all attachments and truly study the Fa well!

Master said,

"Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future. For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth."

Master also said,

In other words, think about why so many high-level beings dared to take such a perilous risk and come to the Three Realms. They are gods, so how could we not save them? didn't they come to obtain the Fa? If you look at it from another perspective, wasn't their bravery in coming here a way of validating the Fa-rectification and placing their hope in the Fa-rectification? That's why I have said that we cannot leave them behind, and that we must save them and think of ways to save them! Even though they may be confused at the moment, or they may have lost their capacity to recognize truth or reality, owing to their concepts being warped by the Party culture over time, we still have to find ways to save them. "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Conference"

Every time I read this article I realize that I must not get attached to a comfortable lifestyle and cannot slacken in my resolve to make diligent progress!

As Master said,

"Let me tell you, since you're cultivators and you're among ordinary people, you just have to listen to those displeasing words, and you have to be able to listen to those displeasing words. (Applause) Otherwise, when you haven't even resolved this most basic cultivation issue, how could you call yourself a Dafa disciple?"

Once I had an argument with a friend. He pointed out my shortcomings with words that stung. Although I didn't "fight back," I endured with tears in my eyes. I was so upset that I set aside everything and slept for a whole morning. When I think about it, was I cultivating? I deeply feel that if I'm not strict with my xinxing and don't improve myself I would delay some very important things. We can't take detours in terms of improving xinxing.

One friend (friend A) I met online said to me after hearing the truth, "I'm so glad to have met you! I'm a student. I'm really touched by your words! I admire you, and the Chinese people are proud of you!"

Friend B, "When I first heard your words, I felt I had suddenly realized something. I was in disbelief but my conscience tells me to trust you."

Friend C, "Now I'm increasingly clear on what is really happening! Thank you for helping me recognize all of the facts! I wish you a bright future when the persecution is no more!"

Friend D, "I hope you can tell me about the latest news! I'm struggling because I want to join you but I'm afraid of opposition from people around me! I'm afraid they wouldn't understand me. However, I'll support you in my heart! I'll always support you!"

Friend E, "Now that I've heard about the persecution from you, I'm very angry and excited. I hope all of this will end like you said. [I hope] we can have a harmonious society."

Many people I met online asked to learn the exercises. One woman even bought a computer and learned Dafa and the exercises through the software we gave her. One friend in his 20s didn't have a computer and didn't know how to use and store information on computers. He looked for me almost daily at an Internet café. He sent me messages right after he got to the Internet café and asked for an electronic version of Zhuan Falun. After receiving his messages I asked him, "Do you want to play games first or study the Fa first?" He always said, "I want to study the Fa first." Once I didn't see him online for two days and on the third day he told me, "Sorry, I was very tired from work in the past two days so I didn't come to read the book. Now you can send it to me."

I want to end this article by sharing Master's words with fellow practitioners,

When a cultivator cultivates in this world he is to get rid of all sorts of human attachments, and only then can he become a divine being. Otherwise, any attachment or any element in the human world that weighs on your mind becomes a lock that fastens you down and prevents you from leaving. That's why when you validate Dafa and save sentient beings you cultivate yourself at the same time. You're all very clear on that. In other words, we don't seek human things whatsoever. --- "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference"
