By a Falun Dafa practitioner in the U.S.

When I read it from his e-mail, I was moved by the deep feeling expressed in his writing. I was even more touched by his sincere encouragement. With his consent, I submitted it to Clearwisdom.net for posting. Below is the true story this practitioner encountered not too long ago.

I went to Portland because my friend received a 6,000 dollar grant to hold a music performance (hip-hop). It was said that there would be quite a few people there, and my friend suggested that I come and introduce his band, and at the same time say something about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. I left for the airport and was right on schedule until a seemingly drunk driver blocked my way for quite some time. I had booked my flight with American Airlines, but when I got there I was told that I needed to go to Horizon. The people at Horizon told me that I was 10 minutes late and that my ticket was non-refundable.

I had the option of taking a later flight - 8 hours later. So I called my friend to tell him I couldn't make it. It was too early in the morning and I woke him up. He got angry and hung up. I called my brother, from whom I had to borrow the money for the ticket, and I told him my situation and that I thought maybe I wasn't supposed to go. His response was that of a practitioner (although he wasn't), or maybe it was Master was talking through him, because he told me, "I think this is something you're supposed to do. I think this is a test. It could be a test for your xinxing." I decided to wait for the later flight. I called my friend again and he said that he would be waiting at the airport.

When I arrived though, he was not around. I went straight for the public transport because I knew that I had to make it in time for the show. I asked the bus driver how to get to the show venue and she said I needed a ticket. I had no cash, but luckily the ticket machine took credit cards too. I put my card in the machine and it would not read it!

The bus driver gave me a free pass to the bus, and so I gave her a Falun Dafa flyer. I did not know which stop to take, so I asked someone for directions. A man nearby told me, and I gave him a flyer. My friend called me and said that there was a traffic jam and that I should take a different bus. When I arrived at the hall where the show was to be held, I found that my friend was very busy. Every time I went to ask him when I could give my speech, he had something else to do. I was supposed to introduce his band before he got on. So I stood at the stage edge, but he didn't see me and started to play. He told me afterwards that he couldn't find me, so I asked him if I could fit my talk in before the next show. At that point people told him that time was tight. I asked the other performer if it was ok, and he said yes.

My friend introduced me and I was very nervous stepping up to microphone. My heart beat very fast and I was short of breath. However, I successfully managed to tell them about the persecution and my friend even started to clarify the truth with me at the microphone next to me. After that, many people in the crowd came up to me and asked questions about Falun Dafa and the persecution and how to help. Everything went smoothly after that, and it was as if all those obstacles and hardships were only temporary, up until that one point where I was at the microphone clarifying the truth. I wrote this down to help anyone else running into obstacles on their path to clarify the truth. I find that the greater it is, sometimes the harder it is to do.
