My Understanding about Memorizing the Fa

(Clearwisdom.net) Today, the process of Fa rectification is moving forward very fast. Our surroundings are getting more relaxed and easy, and we have enlightened to the fact that we should rebuild our exercise sites and cultivate ourselves well while saving sentient beings.

We established many exercise sites in our area. Many practitioners there started memorizing the Fa, so we evaluated ourselves on how well we memorized the Fa, since Master told us to do so in study and cultivation. We called the week of November 1 "The starting week to memorize the Fa." We started with memorizing Master's latest article, "The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be" and two poems, and memorized earlier articles after memorizing the latest ones. As younger practitioners memorized the Fa, the older practitioners said, "We could memorize too. We'll do it paragraph by paragraph." Some older practitioners also started memorizing Zhuan Falun. Master once talked about practitioners in Changchun City memorizing the Fa, and how this was an example. Now we can spread this cultivation format of memorizing the Fa. For truly diligent practitioners, this should be doable.

Since the first week of memorizing the Fa, more and more practitioners have joined. We all are truly experiencing the benefits and pleasure of memorizing the Fa. We can clearly feel the elimination of our thought karma, which has helped us to focus and cultivate diligently. Memorizing the Fa has also helped us to break through interference. Master's latest article is truly a key for us to eliminate laziness. It is a weapon that Master has given us to eliminate the evil, and we must memorize it.

Once we memorize the Fa, we can recite it at any time, when walking, eating, working or before going to sleep. This way our brains can totally melt into the Fa, and there is no room at all for thought karma or outside interference.

Surprisingly, we have discovered that memorizing the Fa is a better way to study. Before when we studied the Fa, we only read it once. When we were not focusing, we did not even understand the words. Memorizing the Fa is different. Since our brains are filled with Dafa, any evil thoughts are eliminated immediately. Once memorized, we understand clearly Master's articles and lectures.

For example, in "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Canada Fa Conference," Master told us the situations of different gods in heavens, and I had a hard time understanding. Once I memorized it, though, I gradually understood it in the context of the Fa.

Master said,

"Each time you finish reading Zhuan Falun, you have made progress as long as you have gained some understanding. Even if you understood only one point after reading it, you have truly made progress." ("Learning the Fa" in Essentials for Further Advancement)

When we could not calm down and focus, we could not enlighten to anything even after reading Zhuan Falun many times. When we memorize the Fa, we improve much faster. Many practitioners agree that our minds calm down when memorizing the Fa, and our Main Consciousness is very strong. We can quickly eliminate the interference.

Also, we realize that we are now making good use of our time. Though we sleep much less now, we do better in practicing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the truth. As soon as we receive any new articles, we start memorizing them right away.

Of course you may encounter many interruptions at the beginning, but you must break through them. Be firm in your mind and remind yourself that as long as you remember one paragraph, you are assimilating that part of the Fa. Once memorized, it is the best to review every day. If we review, it is not easy to forget.

My experience is that I review what I memorized the day before each day and move on after reviewing twice. I saw a young practitioner's experience sharing on the Internet that he reviews a paragraph of the Fa he memorized five times and moved on after that. Once he had memorized the whole book, he would start from the beginning for a second time.

Many exercise sites are well organized, everyone memorizing the Fa together before studying and sharing experiences with others to improve as a whole body.

We are currently memorizing Master's new articles. It has not hindered our reading of Zhuan Falun. Some practitioners can memorize Zhuan Falun even better.

Dear fellow practitioners, please join us in memorizing the Fa if you have not already done so. Of course, I did not say every practitioner has to memorize the Fa, but I truly hope that fellow practitioners can start doing so. Let us all improve together as a whole body, do well the three things, and save all beings.
