Facts of the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Luoding City, Guangdong Province in 2000
The police of the Guangzhou Train Station illegally arrested a few Falun Dafa practitioners in June 2000, when practitioners were on their way to Beijing to make appeals for Falun Dafa. After detaining them for a dozen hours the police turned the practitioners over to the officers of Luoding City. They then brought them back to Luoding and detained them for 28 days. Officers Tan Baiyong and Liang Hanqiang, at the Political Security Section of Luoding Police Department, extorted thousands of yuan from one practitioner and ransacked the homes of others.
Facts of the Persecution
Authorities in Jiangxi Women's Prison continue to brutally persecute over a hundred Falun Dafa practitioners who are illegally imprisoned there. The practitioners continue to uphold their beliefs in Falun Gong amidst this persecution. The practitioners refuse to read the official propaganda materials that slander Falun Gong, or take part in the forced brainwashing sessions in the prison. The practitioners insist on not writing the so-called repentance statement or articles that "uncover and criticize" Falun Gong. As a result, the authorities brutally beat them, pierce them with needles, burn them with cigarettes and fire, strip off their clothes and expose them to the sun for extended periods of time, and deprive them of sleep. They also order them to do laborious work, force-feed them, and lock them up in small cells for extended periods of time, etc. Under this brutal torture some practitioners have suffered various forms of mental trauma while others have developed terrible blisters on their bodies.
