Compassionate Master Helped Me Be More Diligent in Cultivation

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to cultivate Falun Dafa in November 1996. My health was not previously good. I had stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, blood clots in my brain capillaries, and a dislodged lumbar vertebra, all of which caused me tremendous pain and despair.

When I was at my wits end, I was given the lucky chance to find out about Falun Dafa. After I started cultivating I was very diligent in studying the Fa and doing the exercises. In six months all my illness disappeared without a single pill or any injections. Furthermore, through studying the Fa and doing the exercises, I experienced mental and physical improvements.

My husband and I did not have a regular source of income, and our child was incurring a lot of expenses studying overseas. My attachment to monetary gain was brought out and I kept considering issues from the standpoint of a non-practitioner. My understanding of cultivation stopped at the superficial level. I did not cultivate with a steadfast faith, thus the old evil forces took advantage of this loophole.

This past summer I was busy earning money. I woke up very early every morning to make a living. I did not place emphasis on cultivation. Under these circumstances, an incident occurred.

We had planted black wood ears (auricular mushrooms), and they have to be harvested every morning. After they are plucked and put into back baskets and woven bags, we transport them to our home on our motorbike to dry in the sun. On this particular day, besides my husband, who drove the bike, and me, who had a basket on my back, there were also woven bags filled with mushrooms on the motorbike's fuel tank.

Because the weather was good, we wanted to rush home to sun-dry the mushrooms, so we drove very fast. The roads in the mountainous areas are not very good, and as we were speeding along, me with over 50 kg of fresh mushrooms on my back, I fell off the motorbike when it hit an uneven patch of bumpy ground where broken bricks were scattered. The motorbike continued traveling for several meters before stopping. I was flung hard onto the ground, together with the heavy basket on my back. My right leg hurt so much that I could not get up.

I then immediately understood that this had happened because I had loopholes in my cultivation that resulted in the evil taking advantage of them. My husband got off the motorbike and ran over to ask me how I was. I replied that I was okay but I still could not get up on my own. He lifted me up and let me stretch a bit, but I still did not dare to lift my right leg. When he asked me if my leg was injured, I said that I was okay and told him to go and spread the mushrooms in the sun. I slowly walked home by myself.

Later, while I was preparing food and recalling what had happened, I reflected on the state of my past cultivation and felt very sad. I could not stop my tears from flowing. I thank Master from my heart for his compassion and protection, and for helping me awaken from my lost state.

When my husband came back from spreading the mushrooms in the sun, he saw me crying as I was preparing the food. He thought that my leg was hurting me and said, "Didn't you say that when you are in danger, Master will protect you?" When I heard what he said, I did not manage to maintain my xinxing. I became angry and shouted even as I was crying, "You have the audacity to say something like that! Look at me! Do I behave like a practitioner? I don't study the Fa and don't do the exercises on a daily basis. I don't send forth righteous thoughts and don't clarify the truth about Falun Dafa! Am I still a worthy practitioner?"

Then I changed my mind and said to him, "From today forward, I must study the Fa and do the exercises well. I will do well all the things that a practitioner should do. That way I will not let Master and Falun Dafa down. You say that my Master did not protect me. If Master really did not bother about me, I would not be okay now. I was carrying such a heavy load when I fell off a speeding motorbike. Even if I did not break an arm or a leg, I would have been injured somehow. How is it that I can stand here now and prepare food?"

The next day when the neighbors saw the black and blue marks on my leg and asked what had happened, I told them all about the accident. They were surprised that I fell down so hard yet I could still continue doing my work. I told them that I am a Falun Gong practitioner and therefore I did not meet with any danger. If not, who knows what would have happened? I told them about the boundless power of Falun Dafa and everyone learned about the miracle.
