By a newer Falun Gong Practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to cultivate Falun Dafa seriously in July 2004. After starting to cultivate I benefited a great deal. The power of Falun Dafa manifested in me. I think this is also Master's compassion toward me.

I actually knew before 2004 that Falun Gong is good, but kept using the perceptions I had formed earlier to look at things. I thought that it was possible that "some people with political intentions" to achieve their goals, were making use of Falun Gong practitioners and their kindness to drag them into in politics. These perceptions blocked me from getting to know Falun Gong better and I frequently advised Falun Gong practitioners not to be deceived.

I was a three-pack-a-day smoker. I knew that smoking was extremely bad for my health. I frequently had black outs and would only recover after a few minutes. I wanted to quit smoking but, after a few attempts, I was unsuccessful. It could be said that I was too addicted to nicotine.

In July 2004, when I finished watching the VCD that the local practitioners gave me, I was shocked and could not believe my eyes. I had completely believed Chinese Central Television (CCTV) as a source of information. However, in order to stir up hatred of the Chinese masses toward Falun Gong, the television station actually went out of its way to fabricate lies and stories and deceive the public. It withheld the fact that Falun Gong was very popular, that within seven years Falun Gong had spread to many areas in China, and that there were more than 100 million people practicing Falun Gong. Furthermore the fact that Falun Gong had spread to many countries all over the world was also withheld. It cannot be that so many Falun Gong practitioners all over the world have mental problems and ask to be deceived. This made me think more deeply. Because of this, I wanted to find out and learn more about Falun Gong.

I started to watch Master's Nine Day Lecture in Guangzhou on VCD. These lectures are about cultivation, raising one's morals and revolve around the issue of how to be a better person. These teachings are beneficial, whether it is to a country, a race, a family or to an individual. Furthermore, each word and sentence is very clear and easily understood. Everyone can understand. When I saw that Master mentioned my old habit of smoking, which I have not been able to get rid of, I secretly had the thought of kicking this bad habit. Thus, that very same day I no longer thought about smoking. When I saw a cigarette in front of me, I was not tempted. I felt that Falun Dafa was miraculous.

I picked up the book Zhuan Falun, and read like a thirsty and hungry man again and again. I understood some issues about life that I hadn't been able to figure out. My mind and soul were purified and there were also changes to my body. After a period of time I looked younger than my peers. I once again experienced the wonder of Falun Dafa.

One day before the 2005 Chinese New Year it was getting dark. I was riding my motorcycle on the way home at a high speed, going down a slope. When I reached a turn, trees suddenly started falling down from a steep slope on the side of the highway. I saw this danger, but I could not brake in time. It looked as though the tree was going to fall on me. The first tree fell and lay across the highway. A second tree fell down and landed in the same position. The time difference was less than two seconds. Then the motorcycle suddenly stopped. I did not step on the brake and I also did not jerk forward as a person would if there were a sudden braking. Somehow the vehicle just stopped. My front wheel was just touching the leaves of the fallen trees.

When I lifted my head to take a look, I saw that an old farmer was chopping down trees on the slope. I was not angry with him and merely drove my vehicle around the fallen trees, made a detour and went on my way. Later, I thought to myself, "Wasn't this an incident where my life could have been taken away?" If I had not cultivated and did not have Master's protection, the consequences would have been disastrous. I felt that Master is beside me all the time. Once again I experienced the miracles of Falun Dafa and felt Master's compassion. This increased my confidence in cultivation and made me more steadfast in my belief in Falun Dafa.

I had a predestined relationship to cultivate in Falun Dafa. For that I must thank the sacrifices made by my fellow practitioners who arduously persisted in clarifying the truth, to the point that I finally understood the truth and knew that Falun Dafa is a righteous cultivation way. Thus I had the opportunity to take the path of cultivation and experience Master's compassion, protection and salvation. I am extremely fortunate.

I have written the factual experiences I had during the past year of cultivation, so that I can tell everyone that through these real life experiences and the validation of Falun Gong by cultivators, it has been proven that Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is the righteous cultivation way!
