1. My understanding of "divorce"

Divorce has become a routine event in our society, but to Falun Dafa disciples, it is a very serious issue. Master has emphasized many times in his past teachings and lectures about the behavior between a wife and a husband. I think that "divorce" is a deviated concept of modern society and a product of the corruption of human virtues. Dafa disciples' actions will become a reference for future human beings. Therefore, Dafa disciples' words and actions among ordinary people should follow Dafa very strictly and higher standards should be there for us. Dafa disciples should not divorce so easily, not including those that happened before cultivation.

2. If the spouse who doesn't practice proposes a "divorce," how should a Dafa disciple handle this situation?

Dafa disciples will be good people in any situation and be kind to others at all times, let alone our relatives and spouse. Before the persecution started, many Dafa disciples' families were quite harmonious. Of course, there were hurdles for practitioners during their cultivation, but after July 20, 1999, the persecution started. Since some disciples were illegally sent to jail or forced labor camp unconstitutionally, some spouses who supported us in the past could not understand. He or she is an ordinary person and hence wanted to get a divorce. I think that these things occurring during the Fa-rectification period is due to the old forces utilizing the evil lives from higher levels to control ordinary people. It should be considered interference and a form of persecution intended to disrupt the Fa-rectification. Indeed many women Dafa disciples have suffered unnecessary hardships, like a husband having an affair or difficulties maintaining family expenses after divorce, and so on. The spouse who proposes a divorce probably does not understand Fa-rectification. He or she looks at Dafa superficially, and their unwise decisions will change their future. As Dafa disciples, we should try our best to persuade our spouses not to get a divorce, because they have special relationships with Dafa disciples. Everyone in the world has a connection with Dafa, so we have to save the spouses at a critical point and let them have opportunities to further understand Dafa. We are saving them, too.

3. Harmonizing family relationships is a way to save more human beings

As Dafa disciples, we should be very kind to every single family member. If we do well, they will understand us from the bottom of their hearts and support us. Especially for husbands and wives, cultivators should not go to extremes by shunning all intimate relations. We should care about others more in our daily lives, and learn to show our appreciation for others' help and to see other people's strengths.

My husband requested a divorce when I was in a labor camp for an extended term. After I came back, we got married again and he is now very supportive. When I clarify the truth, he would be at my side, helping. Sometimes he even helped me to go to remote rural areas to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Our relationship got better, and the evil can't find any loopholes any more. I used my kindness to touch him and rectified his words and behavior. When we do it this way, it is a powerful way to fight back against the evil's lies and show the world our compassion and goodness.
