In every political movement after the CCP took power, fabrication was used to deceive public opinion. Most people in China can see this, but some see such fabrication as only the behavior of some individuals in the CCP, that the CCP itself is not to blame. Some think that the CCP has acknowledged the previous fabrications and amended the mistakes, so they will not make the same mistakes again. These thoughts, out of good will, arise from a lack of sufficient understanding of the nature of the CCP. Fabrication is the CCP's pathological and unchangeable nature. Regardless of the person in power, the CCP has consistently made us of lies and fabrication to further its ends. Once it has launched a political movement, the fabrication will become more intense and unscrupulous.

We all know that it is impossible for all the flowers in the world to have one single color, or all the trees one single shape. The same applies to human society. Since the normal state of societal development is complex and multi-faceted, there ought to exist different modes of thinking and a variety of groups. The Communist Party has refused to acknowledge this fact.

Those who are familiar with the CCP's history, from its inception to its taking power, know that the CCP considers itself the master of history. It follows the dictatorship philosophy that "whoever goes along with me prospers, and whoever goes against me perishes." Because of this characteristic, the CCP not only cannot tolerate any opponents who want to replace it, but also cannot tolerate any different kinds of thinking or any independent groups, either outside or inside the CCP. In their eyes, having political agendas is not just limited to those who want to replace them. All individuals and groups with independent thinking also bear the label of "ulterior political motive" and thus are a threat and challenge to their power. So then they need to be eradicated as soon as possible.

There are always different kinds of thinking and various social groups in human society. The arbitrary mindset of the CCP does not tolerate their existence, so it applies its tyrannical rule to constantly suppress different thinking and differing groups, to the extent of launching large-scale political movements to persecute people. In addition, the CCP is continually utilizing persecution movements to make individuals and groups with independent thinking submit to the CCP's authority and to profess their allegiance. Mao Zedong's well-known remark, "battling with heaven is endless joy; fighting with the earth is endless joy, and struggling with people is endless joy" was quite telling.

In order to persecute individuals or groups, the CCP needs to stir up people's hatred and win their support. To achieve this goal, the CCP can't just label the victims with frightening monikers--they must also be able to withstand rigorous tests. Otherwise, the persecution loses its legitimacy. The problem is, however, when those CCP members in power declare someone guilty, it is not based on fact, but by some decree. The charges are fabricated, and not backed up by evidence. So how do they deal with this, then? Making things up is the only way. Since the CCP's self-interest is the most important, the fabrications that follow are necessary and justified. As long as the CCP sees a need for it, they can fabricate everything.

If one day the CCP stops making fabrications, it won't be the same Communist Party anymore. As long as it is still the Communist Party, it must fabricate things to sustain itself. The more important some issue is, and more serious the perceived threat, the more the CCP will make things up to justify its actions.

Lies are a natural product of deception. Although lies are false, they are frequently able to deceive people. People are often taken in and believe lies as truth. Since the CCP took power, very few people have escaped deception during the numerous political movements the CCP initiated. For instance, during the Cultural Revolution, the whole nation condemned Liu Shaoqi as a "traitor, spy and renegade," with conclusive "evidence" in hand. Who could have expected that all the "evidence" was fabricated?

Then, why is it that lies and fabrications have been able to deceive people, over and over again? The key is that the CCP has a meticulous and systematic way to deliver them and seal out the truth. Like all liars, what the CCP fears most is people seeing through their lies, because once their lies are brought to light, they would be useless. Therefore, in order to cover up the false image the lies represent, they have indeed racked their brains. The CCP has created a pattern and methodology to carry out and cover up its lies. It includes the following four main aspects:

(1) Closed environment for creating the lies: The whole process of setting up the fabrication is kept behind the scenes. When it comes to all those involved in the process of making up the lies, regardless of their role, their personal safety, lives, jobs, education and futures are completely in the hands of the CCP, and as a result, their only way out is to cooperate with the CCP.

(2) Closed environment for public opinion: All voices of opposition are suppressed and the targeted people are deprived of all opportunities to defend themselves. As a result, the general public has no way of knowing anything except what the government wants them to know. This is why in the various political movements, the CCP has spared no effort to block unofficial news sources, particularly news from foreign, democratic countries. As for those who dared to transmit unofficially sanctioned information and the so-called "major cases," the CCP deals with them ruthlessly. Meanwhile, with the economic reforms and the opening-up policies, people feel that they now have much more freedom. They have seen frequent exchange of information with the outside world, and the official newspapers also frequently report negative news from abroad. All this makes people feel that the official media has become objective and unbiased. In fact, the CCP today is no different than what it was before. It is still closely filtering what news the people can or cannot see, and how the negative news should be reported to serve the interest of the CCP. The so-called "open" information world is in fact closed in China and is totally under the control of the CCP behind the scenes. Underneath the superficial disguise of "being relaxed," the ordinary people still have no way of knowing the extremely adverse situations of those groups who are being persecuted. People have come to believe even more easily the CCP's slanderous propaganda against a particular group or a specific incident.

(3) Closed environment for brainwashing: the CCP targeted the masses with brainwashing as a part of each political movement. In addition to the rampant lies from the mass media, schools, government organs, various systems as well as overseas Chinese community groups are organized to watch slanderous TV programs, listen to defamatory speeches, see slanderous art exhibitions, run defamatory seminars and write their understandings under the guidance of the CCP and the Chinese Communist Youth League. People are forced to participate in political studies and take a stand. On the other hand, there is the brainwashing aimed at those being persecuted. The targeted people are abducted and taken to the "study class" or "reform class," and forced to read slanderous materials under high duress. The perpetrators dispatch special personnel to attack them and subject them to long periods of sleep deprivation, forcing them into a confused state of mind so that they cannot distinguish between right and wrong. If they refuse to admit they are wrong, they will be tortured, fined, sentenced to forced labor or imprisonment, and even their families will be harassed and intimidated. As for those who have "realized their mistakes" after the brainwashing, the CCP will further force them to help fabricate news with their personal experiences, which will then be fed to the people via newspapers and TV. These stories further perpetuate the ongoing brainwashing and continue to poison the minds of more people.

(4) Closed environment for thought: When people have no way of knowing the facts, and the people are being bombarded with lies and hatred year in and year out, over time they form a certain psychological mindset. Regardless of whether they believe in the CCP or not, they have closed off their own thinking and have developed the thought to reject any wish to get to know the facts. Furthermore, they have also developed resentment against those who try to tell them the facts. Another method of the CCP is to bombard people with their lies, disseminating all kinds of lies with such high frequency and in such a broad scope within a certain period of time that the people begin to believe in the lies over time. In the end, they will totally believe the lies. The CCP is an epitome of the saying, "Lies will become truth after they are told a thousand times."

In the course of numerous political struggles, the CCP has succeeded time and again in deceiving people using its array of time-tested methods. However, the result might eventually turn out to be, as a Chinese saying goes, "The clever ones may become victims of their own cleverness."

After many years of their personal experience with political movements, more and more Chinese people have come to realize that no matter how the official media presents "conclusive evidence" to justify the crimes they claim, as long as the CCP denies those whom they classify as enemies the legal right to defend themselves, as long as Chinese authorities continue to suffocate all dissident voices and control the media and public opinion tightly, as long as the CCP does not permit anyone other than CCP authorities to investigate or raise questions with regards to the so-called "evidence" the CCP has announced -- all such "evidence" are bound to be lies, no matter how authentic and conclusive they may seem to be.

The logic for such reasoning is very simple. Only those who feel insecure about their lies would resort to such outrageous methods to force people to believe them. These methods that they use have become hallmarks to identify whether CCP is telling lies and fabricating evidence again. Those who invent and implement such methods fail to realize that at the same time when they succeed in deceiving people again and again using these methods, they are also presenting to people the most distinctive hallmarks of their actions, and are thus providing a powerful tool for people to see through their ploys.

Why do we say that all of the Jiang regime's propaganda regarding Falun Gong is the typical falsification and lies? In the persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP's habitual methods have been adopted, and this time carried out to an extreme. Even without going into the details of what the CCP has concocted, looking at how the propaganda is being disseminated is telling enough.

First, let us look at the procedure whereby the propaganda was produced. The propaganda related to Falun Gong was assigned to different executive levels as political tasks. All those involved, including program producers, reporters, TV or radio broadcasters, as well as the parties involved in a specific case and their family members and all those who are interviewed, can do nothing but follow the CCP's orders. The CCP basically hijacked them, threatened their personal safety, daily life, the opportunity to go to school (for kids and young people) and their careers. Among the different tactics used, one of the Jiang regime's favorites is to have the parties involved in a certain case publicly admit their "mistakes."

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, all sorts of people have been forced to claim through the media that they "wanted to burn themselves," "wanted to kill someone," or "wanted to spread false rumors." Meanwhile, the outside world has no way to contact those people. Even though one may find some of them for an interview or an investigation, what they say is hardly surprising when the CCP holds everything in the palm of its hand • the CCP controls the very lives of these people and their family members.

In addition to the propaganda, the Jiang regime's defamation of Falun Gong has manifested itself in the tight control of public opinion. In the past five plus years, strictly prohibiting the propagation of facts about Falun Gong has been key to sustaining the persecution. In order to achieve this, the regime has stopped at nothing to suppress all voices against the persecution, at home and abroad. It does not give Falun Gong practitioners any opportunity to defend themselves. The Internet is blocked; police go all out to look for Falun Gong materials production sites; Falun Gong practitioners who try to broadcast Falun Gong video programs are subjected to heavy prison sentences; all cases in which practitioners propagate the facts about Falun Gong are dealt with as "major cases," and the practitioners involved are punished ruthlessly. Overseas Falun Gong websites are blocked; e-mails are monitored and filtered; normal mail is confiscated once Falun Gong related information is found in the mail. Signals from TV or radio stations that speak the truth about Falun Gong are interfered with. Falun Gong truth clarification materials production sites inside China have become the highest priority targets of the CCP suppression. Under such an extreme situation, Falun Gong practitioners had to resort to splicing a video program into the regular TV broadcast to help the Chinese people get to know the true situation. In response, several practitioners who were involved were tortured to death, and the rest of them were sentenced to heavy jail terms.

The Jiang regime's defamation of Falun Gong is not accidental, but an inevitable crime that it would commit out of its very nature. Although Falun Gong believes in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," aims at improving physical health and moral standards and does not care about politics, Falun Gong is an ideological system completely different from Marxism-Leninism and Maoism. Falun Gong practitioners are a special societal group that follows an independent ideology. In the eyes of the top rulers of the CCP, who fear and hate all independent thought, Falun Gong is perceived as a dire threat, especially in the eyes of Jiang, an extremely narrow-minded ruler. The regime thus saw Falun Gong as an unacceptable threat.

Falun Gong practitioners have done nothing to suggest that they are detrimental to society, but this did not stop the regime from going all out to slander and persecute them. It wasn't a problem at all for the CCP to persecute Falun Gong. Just like previous political movements, all sorts of lies defaming Falun Gong were fabricated. The slanderous propaganda inundated Chinese society and spread to the rest of the world.

Let us then ask: Who is the CCP? Is the CCP the same as China, or the Chinese nationality? These are questions that the CCP and Jiang's regime, united in their joint interest, cannot answer. They can only try to confuse the people by mixing together the concept of a political party with that of one's motherland. For example, the very nature of the United States' political system is based on a multi-party, check and balance system. The nation stands alone, and the politicians are charged with protecting the best interest of the country. There is a clear line drawn between one's political affiliation and the ultimate goal of doing what is right and best for the people. If that line is crossed, usually the result is that the politician is thrown out of office at the next election. That system was set up to prevent the very thing that is occurring in China - one party and a small select group of people defining the country's identity and abusing that power to their own ends.

Ultimately, lies may be able to deceive people for a while, but cannot deceive people forever. At present, more and more people have come to know the true situation. It won't take much longer for the truth to be completely unveiled to the whole world.

As soon as my winter vacation started, I packed my bags and went to Manhattan right away to clarify the truth of the persecution. I spent 18 days in New York, 15 of which were spent handing out materials on the streets. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Day, the anti-torture exhibits we use to expose the persecution continued as usual.

I want to share some of my experiences from those 15 days. These experiences were about people's attitude toward Falun Dafa and the events that moved me the most.

There were several days when it was so cold that the temperatures were down to around zero degrees Fahrenheit. My toes were painful from the cold. In such cold weather, almost everybody walking on the streets stuck their hands into their pockets and hurried along. They did not want to stay in the cold one second more than they had to, but Falun Gong practitioners continued to hand out materials despite the chilly wind.

One Westerner came over and asked me about a popular New York attraction. "Where is the Christmas tree?" I told him that I was not from the area and that I had come to tell people the truth about Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China. He told me that actually the majority of New Yorkers knew that this kind of persecution is a crime and is infringing upon basic human rights. But why were some people still indifferent and not speaking out? "Look," he said, pointing to his own clothes, shoes and cell phone, "All made in China. People just simply cover their eyes and pretend not to see anything." He then waved at me and wished us success as he left.

The following week the weather turned warmer with the temperatures up around 32 degrees. We started to ask the people passing by to sign our petitions to help stop the persecution. I had many touching encounters.

On the first day of the New Year, as soon as we set up the anti-torture exhibits, a young lady read the truth about the persecution on our posters. When we asked her if she was willing to sign her name, she did so without any hesitation. When I explained to her in detail that what the Falun Gong practitioners in China have suffered is much more and worse than what is shown on the posters, tears ran down her face. In a voice choked with sobs she said, "I am really sorry. I feel that my signature is too trivial and I don't know what else I can do to help the people being persecuted." Looking at her sincere eyes and listening to the voice of her heart, I was deeply moved and I almost cried as well.

A young Filipino-American rode his bicycle to our exhibit site specifically to sign his name. When I expressed appreciation, he said, "This is what I should do."

A New Yorker, when he heard my request for his signature, stopped right away and signed his name. He then gave the thumbs up and said, "You are doing a great thing!"

A German family of four vacationing in New York all signed their names and said to me, "The darkness will soon be over."

An affable Western mother and a little Chinese girl of about six years old came to look at our posters. When I mentioned to them that Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted in China, she said, "I believe that the Chinese government is capable of doing anything because I have been in China." I looked at the little girl she had adopted, bent down and told the girl, "You are really lucky that you have found such a good mother." About half an hour later, I saw the little girl pulling her father by the hand and coming towards us. He also signed his name. The family's kindness and justice touched me deeply.

A couple from Poland, after hearing my explanation about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution against Falun Gong, said, "I know about the Communist Party's cruelty because they also badly harmed us." They signed their names immediately.

When an older woman happened to pass by our exhibit site, she said to me in a loud voice, "I saw it, I saw it." She then loudly said again, "When I was at Tiananmen Square, I saw with my own eyes how those police brutally beat them. I felt almost suffocated there." After she signed her name, she said to the people around that everybody should sign their names to stop the cruel and barbaric behavior.

A lady from Central America stood reading in front of the display board for a long time. I approached her and told her about the tragedies of the persecution. She said that she fully understood. Then she told me her family's story. Her grandfather is Chinese and her grandmother is from Central America. She has an uncle who stayed in China and was a doctor. The Chinese Communist Party put him in jail for 20 years because he had a foreign mother. "Passing information to a foreign country" has always been a tool for persecuting innocent Chinese people. Later her uncle sent all of his children to the United States to prevent them from falling into the CCP's hands. Her cousins are now living in Chinatown in New York City and they can only speak Chinese. I gave her some Chinese-language materials, hoping she would pass them on to them and tell them not to listen to the rumors and lies the CCP tells about Falun Gong. She said, "They will not believe in the propaganda of the Chinese communist government because of their father's whole bitter life." I said, "There are many Chinese in America who do believe the propaganda and hate Falun Gong. I hope you can tell them the truth of the persecution." She said, "I will." She took a photo with me and took both Chinese and English materials. I was moved by her understanding and felt very happy.

On another day, an older gentleman stood at the display board looking for a long time. When I tried to approach him, he walked away. Shortly after, I saw him standing at a far-away corner looking at the torture exhibit. After many people finished signing their names and left, he came back again. I asked him to sign his name. He asked how Falun Gong is persecuted. I told him about the party's vicious regime under Jiang Zemin, which couldn't tolerate people believing in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. He told me he used to be a Communist Party member. I was surprised. He said he came from Hungary when he was young. The Hungarian communist government forced him to join the party, threatening him that he would lose his job, his children would not be able to go to school, and he could have everything taken away if he didn't. I told him that Falun Gong practitioners are now under the same kind of threat because of their belief. What they are suffering is far beyond the pressure he had experienced in Hungary. In China, many practitioners have been forced to leave their homes, have lost their jobs, have lost the chance to go to school, have lost their families or even their lives, all because they wanted to exercise the right to practice Falun Gong. Looking at his shaking hand as he signed the signature book, I could sense the shock he experienced in his heart.

Hearing about Falun Gong and the persecution for the first time, a couple from London immediately wanted to sign their names. They also said, "We are Christians, and we were persecuted for our belief in the past, so it is our duty to oppose persecution." Just like them, many Christians signed their names because persecution cannot be tolerated.

One day, a man in his seventies was standing in front of the display board. He looked very gentle. When I got close to him, he told me that a few days before a New York newspaper reported how the angry people in a remote rural town in China burned police vehicles and attacked county government buildings. He said this was what the government forced people into, and probably the citizens there had no other choice. When he finished signing his name, he said, "The Communist Party will lose its power soon."

More and more people understand what Falun Gong is, why such peaceful exercises from ancient China have been brutally persecuted, and why these individuals pay with their lives for the right to believe in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.

Some Tibetans from New York signed their names without any hesitation. They told me, "We have also suffered the same kind of persecution."

Visitors and New Yorkers from Poland, Vietnam, Cuba and the former Soviet Union also showed their support without hesitation, since they have also been ruled by brutal communist powers.

When I asked a passing young man, "Do you want to sign the petition to help us stop the persecution?" He answered, "Please." After he signed his name, he sincerely thanked me. Of course, there were many other people who did not stop but said to us, "Good luck," which indirectly expressed their support.

There were too many other stories to write down every one. The many righteous and kind people inspired me to clarify the truth even more diligently with other practitioners to stop the persecution soon.

(Clearwisdom.net) February 13, 2005 was a sunny day in Bangkok, Thailand and the sky was clear. Falun Gong practitioners conducted their first anti-torture exhibition in the "October 14 Memorial" located in downtown Bangkok. The exhibition reenacted the Jiang faction's illegal suppression and brutal torture suffered by Falun Gong practitioners in China for upholding their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

The exhibition started at 9:00 am on February 13. A table was set up at the entrance of the exhibit hall, displaying Falun Dafa truth-clarifying booklets in several languages, as well as paper lotus flowers, calendars, bookmarks, and fans made by practitioners. On the other side, a petition table was set up to call upon people to sign the appeal, which will be delivered to Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The appeal calls for attention to the Falun Gong issue at the 2005 United Nations' Human Rights Convention.

The exhibition included two parts: "The Journey of Falun Gong" and "Uncompromising Courage". The front walls of the exhibit hall displayed a huge Falun emblem, photos depicting the worldwide spread of Dafa, proclamations received to honor Dafa, as well as Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeals and global rescue efforts after July 20, 1999, when the persecution began. A TV set and VCD continually played the Falun Gong truth-clarifying programs produced by Fangguangming TV. People who entered the exhibit hall attentively viewed those photos and asked questions. Practitioners patiently explained the history of Falun Dafa and the cause of the persecution, as well as the real story about the staged self-immolation and the reason why Falun Gong practitioners in China will not give up their belief under such brutal persecution.

Live re-enactment of torture methods

Live re-enactments of torture methods used against Falun Gong practitioners were held on the second half of the exhibit hall. The demonstrated torture methods included force-feeding, hanging up, digging bamboo sticks into practitioners' fingers, "Tiger Bench", and confined cell. The re-enactment vividly displayed the inhuman torture suffered by practitioners in China. This became a focal point of the audience. Many people were shocked upon seeing the demonstrations, revealing the outrageous persecution currently going on in China. People took the initiative to sign the petition in support of Falun Gong. Those who learned about Falun Gong asked for more truth-clarifying booklets and video CDs. Some requested to learn the exercises on the spot. The anti-torture exhibition thoroughly and vividly exposed the brutality of Jiang's regime and its lies.

The exhibition concluded at 5:00 pm. A number of newspapers including Matichon, Naewna, Thai Rath, Siam Rath, Thai Post, Post Today, Nation and Epoch Times, as well as New Tang Dynasty TV, came to cover the event.

More than 60 Chinese practitioners living in Seoul and surrounding areas gathered at their indoor practice site in Seoul to study the Fa, practice the exercises, share experiences, watch the New Tang Dynasty Chinese New Year Gala 2005, and write truth-clarifying letters to be mailed to China.

The event started 4 p.m. After sending righteous thoughts together, practitioners studied the Fa for 3 hours. A new practitioner said: "This is my first time to partake in such a gathering. I feel that my body and spirit has been purified." A Korean practitioner who was a monk for years and then started to practice Falun Gong said: "I like to participate in Chinese practitioners' event. Though I can't understand their language, I feel our hearts are communicating. It is so wonderful."

Around 8 p.m., practitioners watched Numbers 6 and 7 of the Falun Gong truth-clarifying video series entitled "Let's Tell The Future" which showed everyone the great efforts of practitioners around the world are making to assist Master's Fa rectification. At this very moment, practitioners came to understand better what Master has given and endured for practitioners. Looking back on the righteous belief, thoughts and acts of all Fa-rectification practitioners, many were moved to tears.

After the NTDTV Chinese New Year Gala, practitioners started to share experiences. In the past year, everyone was busy with what he or she should do and rarely had time to share experiences. Today, every practitioner was provided an opportunity to share. Through sharing, practitioners realized how fast the Fa rectification is progressing today and that the methods of truth-clarification need to be adjusted as well. All these require that practitioners discipline themselves strictly according to the Fa and enlighten to the wisdom needed to clarify truth.

Starting at 3 a.m. the next day (February 9), practitioners started to write letters that will be mailed to China so that more people will learn the truth of Falun Dafa.

We are Falun Gong practitioners living and working in Ukraine. Amongst us there are government officials, retired people, school pupils, college students and people of all professions. We love our own country very much and at the same time we also hope that all Ukrainian people can live in peace with everyone else in this world.

Falun Gong is an ancient and traditional Chinese practice, cultivating "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". It can improve the practitioner's physical and spiritual health, improve human society's moral standards and make people's hearts kinder. Five thousand years of Chinese history and splendid culture profoundly attracts people from all around the world. Hence we pay high respects to your ancient country's traditional culture.

Everyone is very clear that only by being honest, compassionate and tolerant towards people around us can we help our society to become stable and assist the improvement of people's moral standards to some extent.

On this planet there are three beautiful words in every language. Those are "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". People believing in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" are righteous people, kind people and lawful citizens. They are all good people who respect others, treat their parents with love, sympathize with less fortunate ones and are willing to help others.

We are extremely concerned about the people who determinedly believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and are suffering cruel persecution in China. We believe that in the near future people will all see that justice will eventually overcome evil.

In the human race's history, those people who have contributed to truth and justice are being respected and admired by people, and what's more they have left compassion and equity in people's memories forever.

In the New Year, we hope that the representatives of China in Ukraine will manifest their courage and justice and can all stand on justice's side, together upholding human rights and legality. (Clearwisdom.net) My name is Ma Shuhua. I live in Japan and am a Chinese citizen. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My husband is a foreign student and my child is now in the sixth grade. We obtained our visas for Japan because of my husband's student status.

On April 18, 2003, I went to the Chinese Consulate in Japan to submit my passport renewal application, because all pages had been stamped. They accepted my application and asked me to return for pickup on April 23. Before that date, staff from the consulate called me and I talked to a secretary with the last name of Wu. In summary, I was told that I would only receive a new passport if I agreed to give up Falun Gong. I did not cave in to this demand.

On Feb 2, 2004, my child's and my passport expired and I again submitted the application for renewal. When turning in my application I told the clerk that I didn't get my new passport earlier because I practiced Falun Gong. She told me that this was no longer the case. I was told that I should return for our passports on February 5^th. On Feb 2^nd, a secretary from the consulate, with the last name of Lu, called me at 5 pm and asked me to come for an interview. After two interviews, he proposed two conditions:

1. Not to hurt the economic benefits of the country and not to damage the image of the country (government);
2. Not to appeal outside the consulate for a period of time.

He thought that my appealing outside the consulate would prevent foreigners from investing in China's businesses. I did not accept these conditions, as I had not done anything to hurt the image of the country. A free country and its government would attract more investments and a government that persecutes its citizen and commits human rights violations would prevent foreign investments. It was the persecution of Falun Gong that sullied the image of China and thus lost economic opportunities.

He called me and I called him back. He told me that he had sent a message to China to ask authority to renew my passport, but he did not know when he would get a reply. I didn't know how long I would have to wait. Among the people who did not receive their passports were Falun Gong practitioners.

I am a Chinese citizen. I have not done anything that sullied the country's image, or anything that would have made China lose economic benefits. I have never broken any law. I had no idea when and how I was put on their blacklist. The refusal of issuing new passports or renewals of passports to overseas practitioners is definitely persecution and discrimination.

I came to Japan in March 1999 and started to practice Falun Gong in April. I became healthy and was feeling happy. My chronic shoulder bursitis and arthritis were gone within two months. When I saw the suppression against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, I felt it was unreasonable and decided to continue the practice.

Around Dec 10, 1999, I traveled to Hong Kong to attend the Falun Dafa Asia Experience Sharing Conference. Regulations in Hong Kong required me and other Chinese practitioners from Japan to enter through customs in Shenzhen. At customs, the officer realized that we were Falun Gong practitioners and detained us. After 5 or 6 hours, they sent us back to Japan and some practitioners' passports were stamped "cancel".

After we returned to Japan, we understood how the propaganda in China was deceiving all Chinese people. They even claimed that overseas Chinese were forbidden to practice Falun Gong. I was very sad.

On Dec 20, 1999, Macau was going to be returned to China. On the 19^th, some practitioners and I traveled to Macau and participated in the group exercise on a big plaza. We wanted officials from China and the world's media to see how peaceful Falun Gong was. Under pressure, the Macau police arrested us in front of everyone, including the media, and took us to a police station. After 7-8 hours, without receiving an explanation, we were sent back to Hong Kong.

After what happened to us, some of us practitioners decided to go to Beijing to appeal. We wanted to speak for overseas practitioners and appeal for an end to the suppression of Falun Gong. On Dec 29, 1999, our flight arrived in Shanghai. Armed officers at customs arrested us. A female officer at customs was looking at the computer screen and kept repeating, "There are more of them." Seven of the eight of us were locked in a hotel that night. Police were assigned to all the rooms to monitor us and we were not allowed to leave the room. The next morning around 9 o'clock we were sent back to Japan against our will and our visas were all stamped "cancel." We were not able to appeal in Beijing.

From that time on, I could no longer return to my country. I had become an outcast.

In March 2004, as I had not heard any news from the consulate, I faxed a letter that I had prepared for the media and public to the Chinese consulate. After an hour, the secretary with the last name of Lu called me and asked if I had sent out the letter. As soon as he heard that I had not done so, he said, "It would create a lot of problems if you did. Come tomorrow and apply for your passport." I got my passport within three days.

Though I received my passport, which was supposed to be issued to me a long time ago, there are still a lot of practitioners in Japan who have not received their passports. I ask the public for their support. Please help us end the persecution of Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) 64-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Honghuai from Jiutai City, Jilin Province started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, which cured his illnesses. In December 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, but was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor and incarcerated in Jilin Province's Jiutai Forced Labor Camp. During the period of his incarceration, Mr. Zhang suffered from liver illness as a result of the abuse he endured. Later he was released for medical treatment. After he returned home, he again took up studying the Falun Gong teachings and practicing the Falun Gong exercises, and his liver ailment was cured.

As Zhang Honghuai refused to give up his practice, he was illegally detained for 15 days in 2002 and later sentenced to forced labor for two years. He was tortured, which resulted in the relapse of his liver disease. He was released on medical parole on September 25, 2002, but the local authorities still often went to his home to harass him. Suffering from both serious mental and physical trauma, he died on November 28, 2004.

Ms. Zhou Liru, 50 years old, was the deputy manager for the Xiushui Resort, the Zhalantun City Energy Supply Bureau in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. She went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in January 2001. In March 2001 she was sent to a brainwashing class. As she refused to give up her Falun Gong practice, the authorities sentenced her to forced labor of two years. She was severely tortured and suffered from serious mental and physical trauma. She began to suffer from an array of illnesses and died in October 2004.

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Qu Baifu was seventy-nine years old, a Falun Dafa practitioner who lived in Kuiying Street, Zhongshan District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After July 20, 1999, Jiang ordered the 610 Office to systematically follow his genocidal policy to "ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically." Police repeatedly came to his home to harass and threaten him. They ransacked his house looking for Falun Dafa material. Mr. Qu's son, daughter-in-law, second daughter, and third daughter were all sentenced to forced labor, which severely hurt Mr. Qu. He died on August 27, 2001 as the result of the cruel persecution.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen Huakun was 75 years old and lived in the No.10 Commune, Dingjiao Village, Nanqiang Town, Middle District, Suining City. He was plagued with severe bronchitis and pulmonary alveolus. After he started cultivating Falun Dafa in June 1997, he became healthy and regained his strength. He clarified the truth to people, and as a result he was targeted by the Nanqiang Town Government officials on July 20, 2003. He had to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested. As a result of the severe persecution, he died on December 18, 2003

According to reports, many Falun Dafa practitioners have been tortured to death in Suining City. Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xi Zhimin, from the No.11 Village, Fuqiao Town, Middle District, Suining City was arrested in January 2002 after his home was ransacked. He was beaten until two of his ribs were fractured in the Lingquan City Detention Center, and then he was transferred to the Xinhua Labor Camp in Mianyang City. He was tortured to death in July 2003. His body had three stitches on the forehead and rope marks on his neck.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Peng Fangjian from Renli Town, Suining City was arrested at his home by policeman Rao Jun (male), the Town Legal Office Member Zhang Kangping (male), Town 610 Officer Yuan Xiaolin (male) and Hu Zongcheng (male). Police asked his family to pay 50,000 yuan to bail him out, but his family did not have the money. Because of this, he was transferred to the Lingquansi Detention Center three days later. Only a few days thereafter, he was tortured to death on February 10, 2003.

Mr. Zhang Ruiyou was in his 40's and lived in Weizhou Town, Wei County, Hebei Province. He was very healthy as he cultivated Falun Dafa with a firm and steady faith. The local 610 Office started to harass him in January 2000. Twice they arrested Mr. Zhang. He died in December 2000 after repeated abuse from the 610 Office system.

In July 2000, the Party Deputy Secretary Ren Ligang (male) of Weizhou Town, Wei County and police officer Men Fawang (male) led a group of thugs in establishing a brainwashing class in a motel near Qilihe Village. They called it the "Animal Training Drug Rehabilitation Class," which is a telling name for how they viewed and treated practitioners.

Town officials and police arrested more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners and tortured them for more than 20 hours each day. They forced the practitioners to run at 4-5 a.m. and tortured them until 3 a.m. the next day by forcing them to stand on bricks, facing the wall. They kicked and beat the practitioners and used electric batons to shock them while they were tied up. They burned the practitioners with cigarettes, stabbed them with needles and forced them to stand on a piece of brick or kneel on a wooden stick. The Falun Dafa practitioners were covered with injuries.

Ms. Qi Xiuzhen was taking care of her grandson, because her son and daughter-in-law had traveled to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. She and the child were both locked up. Police forced her to attend the brainwashing class while holding her grandson. They forced her to stand in the hot, midday sun or stand on a piece of brick while facing the wall with her grandson in her arms. The Party Secretary Yu Li (male) of Weizhou Town came to personally direct these tortures on many occasions. Mr. Zheng Nianjie was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Beikou Village, Mucun Township, Shenzhou City, Hebei Province. His entire family started cultivating Falun Dafa in 1996. He used to be very weak and suffered from many illnesses. After practicing Falun Dafa, he fully recovered. He was always very nice, honest, and had a kind heart. He was famous in the Village for his good temperament. However, because he firmly kept his faith, he was persecuted many times and suffered numerous internal injuries. He died in October 2002 from torture in a labor camp.

Mr. Zheng Nianjie was fifty years old. He went to Beijing to appeal on April 25, 1999, and was brutally beaten and detained by local police, who extorted 200 yuan from him before they released him. He went to Beijing to appeal again on July 20, 1999, and was beaten and detained by local police again. He passed out three times during detention, because of torture by police, but they poured cold water on him to revive him each time. He was so weak after the tortures that they extorted 1,000 yuan and released him to avoid the risk of being responsible for his death.

In October 1999, Mr Zheng several police raided and ransacked his home, then arrested him. They confiscated his Falun Dafa books and materials. While in custody, they shocked him with electric batons, and beat him with a wooden stick. At the same time that he was being detained, his wife and fifteen years old daughter were on their way to Beijing to appeal. After several months, both he and his wife were sentenced to three years at forced labor in the Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp. Mr. Zheng was in the Fifth Ward and his wife was in the Fourth Women's Ward. Their fifteen years old daughter is home alone. Both were cruelly beaten by prisoners and police, as well as tortured. Mr. Zheng became very weak, so he was released on a medical parole in May 2001. At home, police repeatedly harassed him and closely monitored him. He never recovered due to the constant mental and physical pressure. Less than a year after his wife returned, he died. His family will never have a proper reunion.

(Clearwisdom.net) We are Falun Gong practitioners from the Qiaokou District in Wuhan City. We are reporting the criminal conduct, which occurred from October 1999 to April 2004, of Jin Zhiping, the director of the First Division of the Qiaokou Police Station in Wuhan City.

The Chinese Constitution states that citizens have the right to their own beliefs. Citizens can report or file a lawsuit against any government employee who violates that law while performing his duties. Presently there is no law or judicial regulation identifying Falun Gong as a "cult." Regulations do not exist in either the Peoples' Congress's "Decision on punishing cults" or in the judicial explanation from the Supreme Peoples' Court and Supreme Peoples' Procuratorate. On October 28, 1999, the negative editorial in the Peoples' Daily only represented the opinion of one of the central leaders, and it carried no legal weight. Since Falun Gong practitioners believe in "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance" they go to Beijing to appeal the illegal rulings against them. Practitioners are exercising their basic rights as provided by the Constitution and demonstrating that they believe in the government and are responsible to society.

Since 1999, Jin Zhiping, Director of the First Division of the Qiaokou Police Station, has illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing. He has arrested them from their homes, their work places, or off the streets. Jin imprisoned and persecuted practitioners in the "Transformation Education Center" that he was directly in charge of. Any practitioner who refused to "transform" could be imprisoned indefinitely. The longest illegal imprisonment was 21 months. Practitioners Chen Aifeng from Liujiao Street, Qiaokou District, and Wang Ping who worked in the Shiyi Hospital suffered through two Chinese New Years imprisoned in the Transformation Education Center. This type of imprisonment never involved any legal procedure.

The Brainwashing Centers were set up in the Qiaokou District Gongdu School and the District Administrative Prison. They were guarded by the police 24 hours a day and the centers' four iron doors were locked from inside. The staff there often beat and humiliated practitioners. Practitioners had no freedom inside the prison. They were forced to do all kinds of labor and were subjected to brainwashing with lies slandering Falun Gong.

There was a closed room in the brainwashing center. Those locked up in this room were allowed to open the door only twice a day to clean themselves up. Sometimes the center would not open the door for many days. Jin Zhiping often brought practitioners to the room, handcuffed their hands behind their backs and hung them up on the window frame for many days. Practitioners were hung up with their feet barely touching the floor and their handcuffed hands bearing the weight of their whole body. Their hands would be terribly swollen in just half an hour, with the steel handcuffs cutting into their flesh. Soon the flesh would be lacerated and both arms would lose feeling. Practitioners' hands were damaged or disabled for this torture, and recovery from the injury was difficult. Most of the imprisoned practitioners were locked in the closed room and tortured in this way. Practitioner Cao Jingyu from the Haigong Dormitory on Hanshuiqiao Street was tortured like this in March 2001. In December 2001, practitioner Ms. Cai Changzhen, who lived on Zongguan Street, was imprisoned and handcuffed for three days. She was not released during that time even when her eyes became red and swollen, causing her blindness.

On September 15, 2000, Jin Zhiping locked Ms. Xiao Yingxue, an employee of the Qiaokou Industrial and Business Bureau, in the staff room alone and tied her up in a chair with a thick rope. When Ms. Xiao yelled out, Jin stuffed a mop in her mouth and used a briefcase to beat her. Jin wore steel-toed shoes and ruthlessly stomped on Ms. Xiao. Ms. Xiao's mouth had a 2-inch wound because of the beating and she had bruises all over her body. She couldn't straighten her back or raise her arms for 2 weeks after this abuse.

Jin Zhiping often beat and kicked practitioners. In the bitter cold winter, he would force practitioners to run a 300-meter drill field 30 times and then pour cold water on them. In the steaming hot summers, he exposed practitioners to prolonged periods of time under the hot sun and physically tortured them.

On October 19, 2001, thirteen female practitioners in the brainwashing center were punished for practicing the Falun Gong exercises and were made to stand in the rain. After Jin heard about this, he sent for practitioners Wang Jinde, Zhou Desheng, and Xiao Ganzhi, claiming he wanted to "have a good time" beating up those practitioners. They were thrown to the ground and forced to kneel down in muddy water. They beat the practitioners who refused to kneel down. Practitioners were also kicked and jumped on by police with steel-toed shoes when they refused to kneel down. They did not even spare practitioners in their 60s and 70s. Sixty-year-old Zhang Huifen, who lived on Ronghua Street, was beaten until she lost control of her bladder. Many practitioners were bleeding from their mouth, gums and nose as a result of the beatings. In addition, these practitioners were not allowed to eat or use the toilet for an entire day and they were left out in the freezing rain.

On February 2, 2001, Xiao Ganzhi and Li Hanhua from the First Division of the Qiaokou Police Station took Liu Li out of the brainwashing center for no apparent reason. When questioned about this, they claimed Liu was a rapist. Everyone started to accuse Xiao and Li of defaming the character of Liu Li. The next day, Jin Zhiping and the assistant director of the Qiaokou Police Station, surnamed Zhu, sent ten police cars with over 30 anti-riot police to the center. They all wore helmets and carried rods in their hands. They rushed into the brainwashing center, striking at any practitioner, young or old, as if attempting to kill them. More than 100 of the imprisoned practitioners quickly fell to the ground. Jin Zhiping ordered Wang Jinde and several anti-riot police to bring practitioner Liu Ning to a small house and brutally beat him. This happened three times, until Liu Ning's head was bleeding and he had wounds all over his body. Even after Mr. Liu was covered in blood, they still would not stop. Almost every practitioner was brutally beaten during this terrible incident.

In December 2001, Jin and other police officers went to arrest practitioner Mr. Ji Peng. Several police knocked him down right on the street and brutally stomped on his head. Later at the police station, someone saw Jin and other officers dragging Ji Peng up and down the stairs as they brutally beat and tortured him. Later on, Ji Peng was at the district prison and his head was unbelievably swollen.

On January 16, 2002, Jin Zhiping and Zhou Desheng went to the Ruanjiatai Sub-district in the Qiaokou District and arrested practitioner Mr. Chen Rongyao. Jin and Zhou confiscated Mr. Chen's household property, including a bike and a stereo, and took 13,000 yuan in cash from Mr. Chen's daughter, without giving any receipt. Chen Rongyao was imprisoned in the Qiaokou Police Station Administrative Prison and then the district prison. While illegally imprisoned, Mr. Chen, 65 years old, was tortured many times by Jin Zhiping as well as other police officers and common prisoners. On April 29, 2002 Chen Ronyao's life became endangered, and he was sent to a hospital for emergency treatment. He died 6 months later.

At 10 p.m. on April 1, 2004, Jin Zhiping and Xiao Gangzhi broke into practitioners Ms. Huang Zhao and Mr. Liu Ning's apartments. Jin and Xiao confiscated the two practitioner's property without due cause or proper legal procedure. They took away 2,000 yuan in cash and other valuables worth over 10,000 yuan. They abducted the two practitioners and took them to the Qiaokou Police Station and secretly interrogated them. Jin and Xiao handcuffed Huang Zhao's hands and feet and used a thick rope to tie her to a chair and brutally beat her with electric batons. That night Ms. Huang became unconscious and died shortly after being sent to a hospital. On April 5, Huang Zhao's parents asked Jin about their daughter. Jin didn't tell them that Ms. Huang had been tortured to death or where her body was. Up until April 16, the Qiaokou Police Station informed Huang Zhao's family that she had attempted suicide and had been sent to the Shiyi Hospital for treatment and later died there. Ms. Huang's family asked for the medical documents and receipts for the medical expenses but never received any. On April 21, when the police prepared to cremate Huang Zhao's body, her family saw that her head was swollen and she had bruises everywhere. Even with makeup to cover the wounds, Ms. Huang still looked horrible. The police listed "stabbed" as the cause of death on the death certificate. Jin Zhiping and the police had succeeded in beating a 32-year-old healthy young woman to death in less than one day.

Huang Zhao was arrested on April 1 and the police claimed she was dead in the hospital on April 16. Jin and the police never followed any legal procedure. Ms. Huang was neither subpoenaed nor legally arrested.

On many occasions Jin Zhiping illegally confiscated practitioners' household property and took away large amounts of money. He never followed any legal procedure or gave any receipt for the things he took. Jin twice confiscated practitioner Hu Jianhua's property. Mr. Hu was a former employee of the District Industrial and Business Bureau. Jin took 13,000 yuan from Chen Rongyao's daughter (this case was described earlier in this article). Mr. Chen has been dead for more than 2 years and Jin still owed his daughter 6,400 yuan. Nine practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal in November 1999 were detained and sent back to their hometown by Jin. He took 26,000 yuan from the practitioners and never returned it.

While Jin was in charge of the brainwashing center, any practitioners needing to return home for funerals or family emergencies were charged 2,000 to 6,000 yuan before they could go. In the brainwashing center, the practitioners were forced to pay 300 to 2,000 yuan "living expenses" each month. However, they were only given meager meals of boiled carrots and cabbage to eat.

The above descriptions are only part of the crimes Jin Zhiping was involved in. Many other criminal violations are still being collected and confirmed. In just the above-mentioned incidences alone, Jin has violated the Criminal Law, Article 234: "Intentional injury to others;" Article 247: "Using torture during interrogation to obtain conviction;" and Article 397: "Abuse of authority." The witnesses and the evidence are all being collected and Jin cannot escape from his legal responsibilities.

Jin's conduct has severely damaged the image of the police and caused great loss to the practitioners and their families. We demand punishment of Jin Zhiping for his crimes so that people will receive justice, dignity and retribution according to the law.

(Clearwisdom.net) Through the efforts of many practitioners in both China and abroad over the last five years, more and more people in China have come to know the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. However, there are still many people who are deceived by the lies of Jiang's regime. In recent years, Teacher has repeatedly emphasized the importance of clarifying the truth. In the article "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save The World's People," Teacher once again emphasized that we need to "start to seize the day and comprehensively save the world's people" and "begin comprehensively clarifying the truth." To keep the pace of the process of Fa rectification and successfully fulfill our mission as Dafa disciples, we need to calm down and carefully analyze what factors are preventing more people from learning the truth about Dafa. Thus, we can clarify the truth in a more targeted and efficient way.

Based on my experiences, I think that the following four factors are the main contributors to the problem.

First, the range of distribution of truth-clarifying materials is still not broad enough. As a result, some people still have not had the chance to read them. These people will certainly have difficulty learning the truth. Some people have come across truth-clarifying materials, but the content is not complete enough, so they may still have some doubts in their minds. To solve this problem, we need to further expand the distribution range and try to provide materials with more comprehensive content and address questions from different aspects.

Secondly, some people lack knowledge of the true nature and history of the Communist Party. After reading the truth-clarifying materials, they usually will admit that the official propaganda is false. However, they think that this is only a local or individual phenomenon caused by individuals or departments. They refuse to believe that the entire government and Party is fabricating and making false accusations. In order to eliminate this notion, we need to use our wisdom and provide them with some targeted reference materials from the viewpoint of saving sentient beings. This way we can eliminate this specific obstacle as early as possible and they will be willing to accept the truth of Dafa.

Thirdly, people are influenced by many deviated notions as a result of long-term education of the "Party culture."

For example, Dafa acknowledges the existence of Gods, but nowadays most people are atheists due to the influence of science. They think that believing in God is superstitious and anti-science. There are many other deviated notions formed through the Party's education. In addition, there are other conceptual confusions. Influenced by those deviated factors, many deceived ordinary people develop resistance towards Dafa. To solve this problem, we must rectify their deviated notions in a proper way when we clarify the truth to them. It is very important and urgent, although it is difficult to achieve.

The fourth factor is related to ourselves.

In order to justify the persecution, Jiang's regime made every effort to demonize Falun Gong. Some practitioners lack complete understanding of the Fa and do not strictly follow Teacher's words that we should try to conform as much as possible to the state of ordinary people. They often go to extremes in their daily lives and leave a negative impression on ordinary people who do not know the truth about Dafa. People with this negative impression about Dafa then tend to believe the rumors from Jiang's regime. It takes more effort for them to accept the truth.

When clarifying the truth, some practitioners mix various ordinary people's attachments, such as the attachment of competition, showing off, hatred or anxiety to convince others. In this state, one's words naturally lack power and cannot reach the heart of ordinary people. In some serious cases, we not only fail to clarify the truth well, but also confuse others.

Some practitioners mix in politics when clarifying the truth. For example, they distribute articles about the political dynamics of high-ranking officials in the Chinese government cited from ordinary websites, leaving the impression that we are involved in politics. This seriously inhibits their opportunities for clarifying the truth.

Certain materials are of poor quality: 1). Some are too high a level and ordinary people will not accept them and think that we are promoting superstition. 2). Some lack understanding of what ordinary people care about most or the issues they are most confused about regarding Falun Gong. The materials are written from the viewpoint of practitioners, but not from viewpoint of ordinary people; thus ordinary people do not want to read them. 3). Lack of facts in some materials. They do not give specific details of names, time and location. This will make people suspicious about its reliability. 4). The format is uniform and expression is boring. Materials of poor quality do not attract ordinary people. In order to eliminate those drawbacks and negative influences brought by them, we need to intensify our Fa study, constantly improve, and purify ourselves. Our path is indeed very narrow. A slight deviation will cause damage to clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.

I remember when I was detained in a brainwashing center last year, I often had one thought in my mind; that is, I would struggle against the most evil thug there--even to the end of my life. At that time, I also realized that such a thought was not good, and it was a manifestation of my attachment to conflict. However, I just could not get rid of it. Even after I was released from the class, that thought still popped up sometimes. I was very puzzled as to why I still had such a strong attachment to conflict after cultivating for so long.

After reading "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party," I suddenly realized the root cause of my problem. For the past several dozen years, people who live in China have been instilled with many evil substances by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). We all live in the field covered by the CCP, so we cannot realize that there are evil substances in our minds.

When talking about the root cause of people's health problems, Teacher said,

"But, black qi is not the root cause of the problem. Instead, it's a being in a deeper dimension, and it's that being that produces the field." (Seventh Talk, Zhuan Falun)

Many Dafa practitioners have not realized that the bad thoughts in our minds are not only manifestation of our attachments, but also manifestations of the evil substances instilled in us by the CCP. Why is the CCP's evil spirit running rampant? It's probably because Dafa disciples haven't gotten rid of the evil substances instilled in us by the CCP. If we don't remove their evil substances, then we are acknowledging them. Therefore, the CCP will still be able to exist.

I'd like to suggest that each time when we find bad thoughts cropping up, we should dig further to see the root cause of these thoughts. For those of us who grew up in China, many of our bad thoughts are closely related to the evil substances instilled in us by the CCP.

(Clearwisdom.net) In the autumn of 2001, the police arrested a fellow practitioner and me for posting materials about the truth of Falun Gong. At about 3 a.m. that night, with the help of our Master and righteous thoughts, we were able to escape, but we had to leave our homes to avoid further persecution.

In the past three and a half years away from my home, although I have tried hard to follow Master's Fa, I have always felt that in my cultivation I didn't maximally conform to the ordinary human society, which made it difficult for my relatives, friends and neighbors to learn the truth of Falun Gong. To some extent, I followed the old forces' arrangements. Since the summer of 2004, I have been thinking of rectifying my path by going home to validate Dafa in an open and dignified manner.

On December 24, 2004, I was arrested on a bus in a city. My mind was very clam at that moment and my first thought was: I will grasp this opportunity to break through the evil's arrangements and return home openly. So at the police department, I told them my name and home address, and I also exposed the persecution and clarified the truth to them.

At the police station, police officer Zhang searched me and illegally confiscated my watch and 187 yuan. They handcuffed me for the night and sent me to a detention center the next day.

In the detention center, I could feel that Master was protecting me and helping me all the time. The Fa principles constantly appeared in my mind, and I was very clear-headed. So with Master's help and through my righteous thoughts and actions, I walked out of that place openly on January 7, 2004, and returned home.

Just after my arrest, I protested with a hunger strike. But sometimes a thought like, "You were arrested because you didn't cultivate well" would pop up. So I followed Master's teaching in a Hong Yin (II) poem called "Don't be Sad":

Your body lies in prison • don't be sorrowful, don't be sad
With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, Fa is here
Calmly reflect on how many attachments you have
As you get rid of human mentality, evil naturally disappears [Unofficial translation]

I looked inside myself for any remaining attachments and got rid of them. In the meantime, I refused to acknowledge the thought and understood that it didn't come from me but was rather imposed by the old forces, so I completely denied it. I still had attachments, and I would cultivate them away, but I shall never let them be the evil's excuse to persecute me.

"I'm Li Hongzhi's disciple, I don't want other arrangements or acknowledge them." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")

Therefore, I totally negated the persecution. I am a life created by Dafa • a Dafa Disciple. My mission is to validate the Fa and save sentient beings; it is definitely not to bear any persecutions.

Those10 days in detention were the coldest I had ever experienced. The temperature dropped to minus 10 degrees below zero Celsius with snowstorms. There was no heat in the cell, and the water instantly froze when it dripped. The wall to the north was covered with ice. Under such circumstances, it would be inconceivable for ordinary people to go on a hunger strike without food and water, but I sent forth strong righteous thoughts: I am a Dafa disciple, a life created by Dafa. I have energy from other dimensions to help evolve my physical body, so I will not feel cold, hungry or thirsty. Once again, I confirmed that Dafa is supernatural, amazing and powerful.

During my hunger strike, other practitioners reminded me that I might be subjected to force-feeding, which would be much more painful than the hunger strike. I denied it completely and thought that nobody had the right to do that to me. No matter at how high a level the old forces existed, they were still lives to be rectified by the Fa. I am a Dafa disciple and I am saving sentient beings, so no one has the right to persecute me. In the meantime, I tried my best for a benevolent solution by following Master's teaching in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York":

"During the Fa-rectification of the cosmos, I can make a reasonable arrangement for those of you who don't interfere with my validating the Fa; I can have you become beings in the future. Those of you who seek a benevolent resolution should leave me and wait in my surroundings. If you really cannot leave me, then don't have any part in interfering with me. In the future I will be able to achieve Consummation, and I will offer you a benevolent resolution. Those who are completely bad, who still interfere with me and who cannot remain will, according to the standards, have to be eliminated. Even if I don't eliminate you, the Law of the cosmos won't let you remain."

I sent out this thought and was deeply moved by the grand mercy of our Master. With strong righteous thoughts and a compassionate heart, the police dared not touch me during my hunger strike.

My family came to visit me but was not granted permission from the detention center. However, an inmate who knew that Falun Dafa is good cleverly helped me to meet one of my family members during visiting hours. My relative told me that our family knew someone in the police department, and they were considering asking the person for a favor to bail me out. I replied, "Don't do that, since nobody can save me except Falun Dafa and my Master. Tell the others in the family that, if the police ask for money for my release, don't come, but if they release me unconditionally, you may come."

While in detention, my mind was very calm. In addition to reciting the Fa, I sent forth righteous thoughts and could feel that Master was right by my side. Ten days into my hunger strike, Master gave me a hint. I could faintly see the Chinese character "xiong," which is composed of two parts, the upper part "neng" meaning "can do" in English and the lower part with four point strikes. What could it mean? I suddenly realized that it meant I "can do" after removing the four points. It might refer to my leaving that place after getting rid of four attachments or to waiting four more days to go home. Sure enough, beginning on day 11, the magpies sang happily each morning, which gave me tremendous confidence and courage. In the end, 14 days after I began my hunger strike, I was released unconditionally.

In my experience, in every circumstance we should have unshakable faith in our Master and Dafa and should enlighten on a righteous path given Master's hints. Always fill our minds with the Fa principles and be prepared at any moment to refuse to accept the persecution. We should refuse it actively, proactively break it up, and fundamentally negate the arrangements by the old forces. I have felt the great power when Dafa disciples become one body and when practitioners inside and outside of detention centers cooperate well. I am greatly touched by Master's boundless graciousness.

(Clearwisdom.net) Looking back on the changes in me after I obtained the Fa, I feel that I really received a new lease on life. Now I'd like to share my experiences with everyone so you will know that practicing Falun Dafa not only improves one's health but also elevates one's character. Please do not believe the lies spread by Jiang's regime.

I am 64 years old. I began to practice Falun Gong in 1997. Back in 1991, I developed rheumatoid arthritis. My wrists were swollen and painful. Later the swelling spread to my feet. In the end, all the joints in my body were hurting badly. I had a yellowish, swollen face. My red blood count was really low. Even on the hottest days of summer, I had to be covered with quilts and stay in a room with the windows closed. In winter, the pain was just beyond description. I sought a cure everywhere, but to no avail. The hard-earned money my family had saved for years was almost used up in their attempts to cure my disease. Because of the side effects of the medicines I was taking, I had bodily dysfunctions. I had a vacant look and I did not want to speak. I lost my ability to take care of myself and to work. I contemplated ending my life, but the thought of my parents in their eighties compelled me to struggle to live on.

In April 1997, I came across Falun Gong by chance. Since then I have read the Falun Gong books every day. Starting in June of that year, I began to practice the exercises. The first time I did the standing exercise, it felt as though both of my legs were being baked, and I could feel the warmth flow through my whole body. The feeling was extremely comfortable. I thought to myself that this must be a really good practice and I should stick with it. In no more than a month, I had completely changed to a different person. People who saw me said I had gained weight and could see I was in very good spirits.

I was soon able to do the housework. I even took care of my one-year-old granddaughter. Now, I don't need any medicine, as all my illnesses have gone away.

My husband always tells everyone he meets that one person practicing Falun Gong has benefited the whole family. My daughter told my son that we should really thank Teacher Li. My fellow villagers all know that a miracle happened to me, a once bedridden person. Even our village party secretary tells other people that a rheumatoid arthritis patient had her illness cured after practicing Falun Gong.

We are a group of Falun Dafa practitioners who have been persecuted and detained in Zhongba Forced Labor Camp in Guizhou Province for a long time. Under the command of Guizhou Province's "610 Office", guards and drug addicts of Zhongba Forced Labor Camp have restrained and brutally tortured us for long periods of time. The policemen secretly set up a "prison inside the prison" to torture Falun Dafa practitioners with methods such as continuous sleep deprivation for several days and nights, brutal torture and forcing practitioners to work 15 to 16 hours a day, even on weekends and public holidays. Falun Dafa practitioners are surrounded and supervised by drug addicts 24 hours a day.

We hope to get assistance from fellow practitioners. We call on the international community and kind-hearted people all over the world to pay attention to this matter and call upon the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Sun Jinkui has not been able to take any food and is now being held at the Jixi City No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Shuzhi is a Falun Gong practitioner from the No. 8 Oil Extraction Factory of the Daqing Petroleum Administrative Bureau. On January 16, 2005, she attended a relative's wedding at Maoershan Town, Shangzhi City. Because she clarified the truth to a tricycle operator and turned in, she was taken away by Zhao Guangchun from the Maoershan Town Public Security Sub-bureau at 9:30 a.m. on January 17. Her Falun Gong truth-clarification materials were also confiscated.

On the morning of January 18, policemen from Daqing City Public Security Bureau searched Zhang Shuzhi's home and illegally confiscated Falun Gong tapes and materials. That same day, members of her family went to the Maoershan Town Public Security Sub-bureau to request her release. The police said, "It was not us who arrested her, but the provincial 610 Office." The National Protection Unit of Shangzhi City Public Security Bureau is now in charge of her case, and Zhang Shuzhi is being detained at the Shangzhi City No. 1 Detention Center. She is now in the 11^th day of a hunger strike.

In recent days police from Tonghua City, Jilin Province have arrested more than ten Dafa practitioners and sent them to the Changliu and Tonghua Detention Centers.

In the examination section of the Changliu Detention Center, Ms. Li Haihong was tortured with the electric batons. The police covered her head with plastic bags until she lost the consciousness. Ms. Xu Xiaofei is on a hunger strike. Another female practitioner over 50 has had her breasts withered from electric shocks by the police.

Ms. Meng Lijun from Zhangqiu, Shandong Province, was arrested at the Falun Gong material production site in Jinan on December 20, 2004. She was detained at the Jinan Liuchangshan Detention Center for 17 days and picked up by family members on January 7, 2005.

During her detention period, she was handcuffed in a freezing corridor and force-fed after conducting a hunger strike. She was tortured with a Dead Person's Bed, where her four limbs were immobilized. A normal person can only endure an hour of this torture, but Meng Lijun endured it for 24 hours. She also conducted a hunger strike to protest the detention the entire time she was there. Through the joint efforts of Falun Dafa practitioners sending forth righteous thoughts and her family asking the police for her release, she was released when she was nearly on her last breath from being tortured.

Ms. Li Hongling is a teacher of English at Zengcheng City's No. 2 High School in Guangdong Province. She was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong and delivering truth-clarification materials. For more than a year now, she has been tortured in the Chatou Forced Labor Camp. People coming out of the Chatou Forced Labor Camp have disclosed that Li Hongling has been on hunger strike to protest her persecution for more than half a year and is often force-fed. Her life is in danger.

The Jiaozhou City Party Committee and the Municipal Government instructed the 610 Office to arrest Ms. Song Yuling, Wang Yubao, Han Daxue, Ms. Gao Fen, and detain them at the Zhangjiatun Brainwashing Center in Jiaozhou City. A group of more than ten of their family members went to the Party Committee to request the release of these practitioners. The Party Committee not only refused to release them, but transferred them to other facilities. Han Daxue is in a forced labor camp, Gao Fen and Wang Yubao are being held at a detention center. Song Yuling has been tormented to the point of being emaciated, her leg has sustained injuries while being beaten, and her life is in danger. She is said to have been sent to the Wang Village Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. When her family went there to visit her, they were shown her name on the list of inmates but not allowed to see her in person. It is not known whether she is still alive.

Between November 5, 2004, and January 2005, about ten Dafa practitioners from Jiangcheng, Anhui Province have been detained, and their homes searched by 610 Office. Some of the details are as follows:

Ms. Ding Xia, over 40 years old, is sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Ms. Ding Yao, over 30 years old, is sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Ms. Hu Kean, over 60 years old, is sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Ms. Yin, over 60 years old, is sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Ms. Wang Shuhua, 70 years old, has recently been released and returned home.
Ms. Yuan Shiyun, 63 years old, is detained, but her whereabouts are unclear.
Ms. Ma Yanling, 40 years old, is detained, but her whereabouts are unclear.
Ms. Chen Shoudao, over 60 years old, has recently been released and returned home.
Ms. Xue Shurong, 69 years old, has recently been released and returned home.
Ms. Cai Jingfang, 68 years old, has been forced into destitution and homelessness in her effort to avoid being illegally arrested by the police.

On November 22, 2004, Mr. Huang Lubin was arrested for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at Huangjiaoping, and taken to the Huayan Detention Center in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City. It was reported that Huang Lubin is paralyzed and has lost the capability to take care of himself as a result of his torture. The detention center will not allow his family members to visit.

On January 18, 2005, Wei Hua of Xiong County, Hebei Province, was arrested by police from the Xiaobu Village Police Station while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification flyers at Jiazhuang Village, Xiong County. Wei Hua was sent to the National Protection Unit, and is now being detained at the Baoding City Brainwashing Center, which is located inside Baoding Yahua Hotel.

On the afternoon of December 20, 2004, four policemen from the Navy Square Police Station in Zhongshan District, Dalian City, came to the home of Ms. Zhao Jing, who is a retired teacher from the Dalian Aquatic Products Institute. The policemen had a search warrant and said that people had reported to them that they had received correspondence from her containing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. They searched her home and confiscated more than ten Falun Gong books, as well as Zhao Jing. The police were going to send her to the detention center, but she did not pass the health examination, they eventually let her go with a fine 210 yuan.

After an investigation, it was found that no one had reported Zhao Jing, but that the Dalian City 610 Office had illegally opened mail searching for Falun Gong materials, and then arrested practitioners after identifying their handwriting.

On March 9, 2004, the Chengdu City Public Security Bureau seized several Dafa practitioners. They are:

Mr. Zeng Tao, employee of Chengdu City Industry Bank who lives on Shuyuan Street

Mr. Li Xiaobo, company manager, his wife suffered mental collapse after being tortured in Xinjin County Brainwashing Center, he lives on Shuyuan Street.

Ms. Deng Jianping, was tortured to death on August 11.

They have been unlawfully detained for more than ten months, and probably have not been sentenced yet. There is no news of them.

Mr. Li Yuanyong from Beichen District, Tianjin City, was arrested in January 2005, and is now being held at the Beichen District Detention Center. Li Yuanyong has been on a hunger strike since he was arrested. Although his life is now in danger, the police still refuse to release him.

On January 4, 2005, Ms. Li Xiulan from Caoguanzhuang Village, Jinghai County, Tianjin City, was arrested by personnel from Xicheng Police Station, Jinghai County, while she was posting Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Wen Yong, over 30, is an employee of the Handan Municipal Administration Company, a university graduate and a senior engineer. He is the technical mainstay in his workplace, very honest and nice, works earnestly, and is publicly recognized as a good person by fellow employees from all levels. On January 11, 2005, members of the Handan 610 Office took him into custody at his workplace and took him to a brainwashing center. Staff members at his workplace were also pressured into participating in his arrest.

Ms. Men Xiangrong lives at Huilongguan, Changping District, Beijing. At the end of 2003, she handed out Falun Gong materials as she carried her child in a park. Police from the Beijing Public Security Bureau arrested her, and her home was searched. The police confiscated truth-clarification VCDs, Falun Gong materials and cash. Men Xiangrong has not been heard from since then. Her husband has requested her release from public security department on numerous occasions, but officials tried to avoid responsibility by either telling him that they know nothing about it or that they have already released her.

Ms. Chen Ruiqin and Ms. Zhu Limin have both been brutally tortured by a team charged with "launching an all out assault on Falun Gong practitioners" in the Banqiao Female Forced Labor Camp, Tianjin City. They remain in the custody.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Solemn Declaration

I am a student. Before I began cultivating within Falun Dafa, I read the book Zhuan Falun and learned that Falun Dafa is great. In the past, my school followed immoral orders and developed some exam questions to slander Falun Dafa and its founder, Li Hongzhi; we filled in the answers that our home room teacher told us to use. I committed a wrong act toward Falun Dafa, and I now extremely regret doing so. Therefore, I state that all the answers I gave to those questions are invalid. From now on, I will make use of opportunities to tell people how great Falun Dafa is, and to make up for the damage I caused in the past.

A few days ago, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Dawei was transported from the detention center to the Dehui City Chinese Medicine Hospital for suturing of two lacerations of his head, which was caused by beatings from a guard. Practitioner Ms. Ma Chunli has been on a hunger strike for one month to protest the persecution at the detention center. She was force-fed every day and her situation is critical. Practitioner Mr. Sun Dawei and other practitioners were abducted by the authorities at Tienan, Dehui City on December 14, 2004. Practitioner Mr. Zhu Guoyou from the Tienan County and practitioner Mr. Sun Changsheng from the Dehui City Dahua Factory are still being held at the detention center. Since his arrival, Mr. Sun Changsheng has been on a hunger strike. Authorities tried to send him to the labor camp on two occasions, but he was not accepted due to his poor health status. To force a confession from him, police cruelly tortured practitioner Mr. Zhu Guoyou. Following his kidnapping he was interrogated several times and severely beaten by the guards.

2. Persecution Experiences of Taian (Shandong Province) Practitioner Ms. Yan Ting

For many years, 25-year-old practitioner Ms. Yan Ting lived in the worker staff dormitory of Taian Taishan Beer Company, Ltd. with her parents. Several times she was abducted to detention centers and brainwashing centers and persecuted by the police from Hubei Province. This occurred even when she was a student at Hubei University. In 2000, she was sentenced to a year and half of "re-education through forced labor" in the Wuhan City Shizishan Forced Labor Camp. Policeman Zhang Shixiong from the Ezhou City (Hubei Province) Phoenix Police Station came to her parents' home in Taian and stayed there for some time during the period of Ms. Yan's imprisonment. He took advantage of Ms. Yan's parents, using any excuse, and even insisted a family member go with him to Tai Mountain to "have fun." His behavior was just like that of a criminal. On October 28, 2003, while she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong in Feicheng, Ms. Yan Ting was again kidnapped and sent to Feicheng Detention Center by the police She went on a hunger strike and 22 days later, she walked out of there as a result of righteous thoughts. At 10 a.m., on November 24, 2003, Ms. Yan Ting and her mother were walking on the road outside their dormitory. Ms. Yan was abducted by the police from the Xujialou Police Station and taken to the Shandong Province First Women's Forced Labor Camp where she was sentenced to two years of "re-education through forced labor."
