I'm a 69-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Anqiu city of Shandong province. Before practicing Falun Gong, I was illiterate and suffered from many illnesses. In 1997 a relative came to our village to teach Falun Gong. That relative looked very healthy after practicing Falun Gong. I started learning the practice and felt very comfortable after doing the movements. I have not stopped practicing since. Because I could not read, my daughter-in-law had to teach me to read Zhuan Falun word by word. I did my best to learn. Within a short time, I was able to read the whole book. Now I can read all of Master's books and lectures easily and only need to ask my daughter-in-law for help with very difficult words. Although I can read Dafa books, I cannot read other things like newspapers. I understand that Master gave me the ability to read the Fa just for the purpose of cultivation. I treasure it from my heart and I am grateful to Master. Since practicing Falun Gong, all my illnesses have disappeared without my noticing. My whole family is very happy for me.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 20, 1999, under great pressure, some practitioners in my village stopped practicing Falun Gong. Now all of their illnesses, which had disappeared after they practiced Falun Gong, have come back to them again. One woman in her 40s' used to be ill all year long and could not do any work and required others to take care of her. By practicing Falun Gong she got rid of all her illnesses and totally recovered. Her whole family was very supportive of her practice. After the persecution she gave up practicing and all her old illnesses returned. Others who had given up practicing are all experiencing similar problems. The Communist Party Secretary of my village told me: "Look, they gave up practicing and fell ill again. You should continue practicing!"

After the persecution started, practitioners from other places regularly sent truth-clarifying materials to us. During the persecution some of them were abducted, detained, or sent to force-labor camps. Sometimes I could not wait for the delivery of the materials and tried my best to go out to get them. Even so, there are still many times that I could not get any.

On the days that I don't have truth-clarifying materials, I am not moved. I believe in Master and believe in Dafa. Sometimes I feel Master right beside me. I remember one day a couple of years ago: after sending forth righteous thoughts at midnight, I left home with 20 or 30 pounds of truth-clarifying materials. I went to surrounding villages to distribute them. Before entering a village, I took off my shoes to avoid waking the dogs and bothering the residents. Walking in my bare feet, I distributed the materials door to door. Some places were muddy and even very icy. However, my feet did not feel cold or painful, but warm and comfortable. I did this village by village until I ran out of materials.

In 2003, with my advice, my cousin started practicing Falun Gong. Not long afterward her health began to improve. Her family was very happy about this.

After the Spring Festival of 2004, the weather was still cold. My cousin used a coal stove to keep her home warm. One night everyone in her family was poisoned from the fumes. No one could get out of bed except my cousin. She barely got up and opened the door before she lost consciousness. At about 8 or 9 o'clock the next morning, when her neighbor visited her, my cousin had already come through the danger and so did everyone else. The only difference was that the others did not recover as fast as my cousin did. The neighbors witnessed the power of Falun Dafa from this incident.

Before this event, my cousin's husband believed the government's propaganda defaming Falun Gong and refused to read any truth-clarifying material. Now he has changed, and he is actively involved in clarifying the truth and validating Dafa.
