Austria: Anti-torture Exhibition in Vienna Helps People See the Evil Nature of the Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 20th 2005, Austrian Falun Gong practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition and information day in Vienna's Stephansplatz. The re-enactments of the methods of torture used to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs helped many people see the terrible crimes committed under orders from the former Chinese Leader Jiang Zemin. At the same time, people gained greater awareness of the inhuman nature of this persecution and how it is a direct attack on morality and justice as Falun Gong practitioners are tortured and killed for trying to live by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

Practitioners distributed leaflets about Falun Gong and the persecution whilst talking to passersby. People were eager to sign their names on the petition calling for an end to the Chinese Communist Party's campaign of genocide against Falun Gong.

One practitioner talked in English for a long time with a man who had just arrived from China. The Chinese man believed that Westerners have no idea about the real situation in China. The practitioner told him about the 2001 self-immolation incident, which was set up by the Chinese regime to justify the suppression against Falun Gong. She wanted him to understand the cruelty and injustice of this persecution.

The Chinese man's eyes opened wide and he stopped mid-sentence to listen earnestly to the practitioner. She told him how people had been arranged to set themselves alight on Tiananmen Square and claim that they practiced Falun Gong. She also told him about the puzzling occurrences during the incident and explained that they helped identify the immolation as a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese regime. He heard how this incident occurred because the Chinese regime wanted to incite hatred against Falun Gong, turning the Chinese people against Falun Gong and thereby justifying their persecution. The self-immolation caused a stir all over the world as the Chinese Communist Party used all the power of their state-controlled media to spread lies and slander against Falun Gong.

The Chinese man realized that the practitioner was telling the truth when she showed him pictures used as evidence to disprove the Communist Party's immolation story. She also showed him many pictures of practitioners from around the world and told him about the many lawsuits against Jiang Zemin and his followers, which were filed for crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity. At the end he accepted more leaflets and thanked the practitioner profusely for her patient explanations. The practitioner wished him all the best for his future.
