New Zealand: Practitioners Introduce Falun Gong During Vintage Car Show (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 19 and 20, 2005, practitioners in New Zealand participated in an annual vintage car show in Napier. They conducted an exercise demonstration and held a poster display to introduce the grace of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China to visitors and local residents.

Based on the city information desk, nearly 10,000 visitors come to this coastal city of 40,000 each year to attend the vintage car exhibition.

Local practitioners applied for a permit to hold an activity in a small park beside the major road where the vintage car show was held. They held banners with the words, "Falun Dafa is good," and a large banner calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, and set up more than 20 poster boards to expose the persecution and the torture taking place in China. The practitioners' peaceful exercises and the photos of torture on the posters formed a strong contrast. Many people were shocked at the facts when practitioners explained about the persecution of Falun Gong that the Chinese Communist Party and Jiang's regime initiated in 1999 in their attempt to force practitioners to give up their belief. The visitors learned that if practitioners did not give up their belief, they would be subjected to torture in brainwashing centers, jails and labor camps, sentenced to prison unlawfully or even beaten to death.

After learning the facts, a man in his 30s said, "The Communist Party does not believe in God. So it does not allow people to believe. It is time to eliminate the Communist Party from the earth."

A woman in her 60s requested to learn the Falun Gong exercises at the site. She also asked a gentleman to learn with her. They learned the first four sets of the exercises.

One of the practitioners participating in this activity was recently rescued from a jail in China. She explained about the persecution with her own experience, and spoke about the how the righteous voices of Falun Gong supporters from the international community have a definite restraining effect on the perpetrators of the persecution.

A young woman touring from Austria said, "I heard of Falun Gong, but didn't know about the persecution in China. I'll browse your website and find a local practice site after I return to Austria. I will learn the exercises."

A mother and her daughter, after looking at the poster boards, asked the practitioners, "Is there any practitioner who fights back in China?" The practitioners told them that even though they face the danger of torture or death, practitioners in China continue to practice Falun Gong and clarify the truth peacefully. The mother and daughter were moved. Upon leaving, they said, while holding the practitioner's hands, "You'll win. God bless you!" They turned and waved to the practitioners after they had walked a distance away.

Two Korean students said somewhat disappointedly, after learning the truth, "There are no people practicing Falun Gong in the town where we study, and people there have never heard of Falun Gong." They lived in a town about two hours' drive from Napier. They said they'd like to learn Falun Gong and wrote down the contact information of practitioners in Napier. A practitioner suggested, "If you like, you can take the Falun Gong introductory literature and distribute it to your classmates, teachers or friends." One of the two said, "I am happy to do this. I feel that I am near to Falun Gong and I know Falun Gong very well."
