The Situation of Wang Zhiping, Son of Practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaomin of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, Who Died as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaomin of Anshan City, Liaoning Province was tortured at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp of Shenyang City to the point of mental collapse. She died November 28, 2002. The following is brief information about her surviving child, Wang Zhiping.

Ms. Zhang Xiaomin, 39 years old, started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. In order to seek justice for Falun Dafa, she went to Beijing to peacefully appeal. She was detained and taken home by security personnel at the train station. After that, to validate Falun Dafa, she hung a small tape recorder with a loudspeaker on the tree outside of her home to broadcast the facts about Falun Dafa. One evening in April 2002, she brought a loudspeaker to Anshan City Train Station Square to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa. She was taken away by the police and sent to the Yuemingshan Detention Center. During her detention, Zhang Xiaomin was handcuffed and shackled to a heating pipe and tortured until she lost consciousness. She was not granted her legal rights of due process and was sent to a forced labor camp for a two-year term.

Around August of 2002, Zhang Xiaomin was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp of Shenyang City, where she continued to be tortured. During her time there, she endured numerous inhumane methods of torture. She was severely injured and mentally traumatized, causing her to suffer a mental collapse. In order to avoid being held responsible for her death, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp ordered her family to take her home. Her relatives tried various means of treatment, however, she never improved. On November 28, 2002, when her family members were not present, Zhang Xiaomin either fell, jumped, or was pushed from the sixth floor of the building and passed away. [With the information we have, it is not clear whether the cause of death was murder, suicide, or an accident. However, it should be noted that suicide is expressly against Falun Gong's teachings, so if Ms. Zhang indeed took her own life, it could only have been because of the mental collapse she suffered as a result of being tortured at the Masanjia Labor Camp.-Ed]
