By a Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) At the start of the persecution, when I clarified the truth to my colleagues and supervisors at my place of work, they either would not give me the time of day or urged me with good intentions, "Don't say anything, or someone might report you to the authorities and lock you up." Most were either not willing to listen or dared not listen. I then reviewed the lessons learned from such resistance and began a gradual process to win them over with my sincere demeanor and compassionate words, improving the environment around me significantly. Thereafter when I clarified the facts to them, I met virtually no obstacles. My colleagues and supervisors were glad to discuss with me what they were not quite clear about in the Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials that I gave them.

Now, even during office hours, I can openly deliver Falun Gong materials to the staff in the various administrative offices. If I have not given them any materials for a while, they will even ask me, "Are there any new articles? Bring them over and let us read them." In the filing cabinet in my office, I often place two or three different truth clarification booklets as well as compact discs for my colleagues to pass around.

As for my work, I am meticulous, responsible, diligent and hardworking. The unit supervisors and my colleagues all admire and respect me a great deal. So long as I do what I should do well and my thoughts are righteous, my supervisor or colleagues, either intentionally or not, create many opportunities for me to clarify the truth. I then make use of those opportunities to clarify the truth, and the results have been quite good. Many times when they introduce me to our clients, they purposely say, "This is our Falun Gong practitioner." Thus, my truth-clarifying task goes without a hitch.

At the beginning of October 2004, the company vice-president took us to northern Anhui Province on business. He then invited the assistant commissioner, the commission secretary, the association's secretary general and others from another company to our business banquet. At the banquet, at the request of the guests, I discussed an issue in my area of expertise and gave my perspective on the subject. They listened and found it very refreshing and satisfying. I was highly complimented.

At this point, the company vice-president introduced me to the guests but in a calculatingly mysterious way, "This expert of ours is rather special." He then paused deliberately for a moment before announcing proudly, "He is a practitioner of Falun Gong." The several dozen people present were greatly surprised and could not believe it, "This is impossible. Such an intelligent person with brains, how could he be a Falun Gong practitioner?" I smiled and nodded, "Yes, I certainly am a Falun Gong practitioner. You find that unbelievable because what you see or hear in the media is controlled by Jiang Zemin, and all the facts are intentionally twisted to make Falun Gong practitioners look like lunatics, idiots, or people with mental problems. So today, when you see a neatly attired and intelligent Falun Gong practitioner, you find it inconceivable. I am living testimony that the media is lying. We Falun Gong practitioners only become more intelligent as we practice, more competent, more rational, more compassionate, and would absolutely not commit murder, suicide or do anything illegal!"

After that, the guests asked questions on the self-immolation, as well as certain murders that were blamed on Falun Gong, and other lies perpetrated by the state-controlled media. I used nearly 40 minutes' time to explain them all in detail. In the process, I also drew on the skills and experiences I had gained in the last several years of truth clarification, to improve the ambience of the meeting. Everyone present was all ears and gazed at me in astonishment.

Afterwards, the female secretary general even asked me, "Is the content of Zhuan Falun not too difficult to understand? If I give you the money now could you help me acquire a copy and give it to me next time you come?" The commission secretary said, "I am responsible for dealing with Falun Gong in my department. Falun Gong practitioners have talked to me before. It was not that I did not believe them, but they did not give as much detail, they were not this thorough and this poignant. What you are saying makes much more sense." I said, "It's not that they were not clear, but, rather, that the moment they started to talk, you reverted to the viewpoint that the media had instilled in you and instinctively rejected what they had to say. Even if they had said it better than I, you were not in a state to listen. Today, because I am a visitor, you give me the privilege to talk, enabling the door of kindness deep in your heart to open a little. Thus the goodness of Dafa also impressed on your good heart. So long as you believe that Dafa is good, you and your family members will certainly have a glorious future!" He hastily said, "Thank you, thank you for your auspicious words. Falun Gong is really great!"

I was able to seize the opportunity and clarify the truth effectively on this occasion because, as I have realized, Teacher was helping and pointing things out to me. But actually I have not done as well as I should. I have missed many opportunities and wasted much time looking for the "right" moment to talk to people. From now on I will strive to do better!
