Having Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions As a Genuine Dafa Practitioner in the Fa-Rectification Period

(Clearwisdom.net) I was a Buddhist originally and had a chance to learn Falun Dafa in 2001. After beginning cultivation practice I eagerly read the Fa. There were times when it was very difficult to get Teacher's articles. I worked day and night to hand-copy Zhuan Falun and Teacher's other articles so fellow practitioners would not be without them. I felt the miracle of Dafa. My mind suddenly became calm and previous attachments to fame, material benefits, and anger suddenly disappeared. My mood was lighthearted and my body felt light and nimble. I could go up and down stairs like a young person. Sometimes, when I sat to meditate or send forth righteous thoughts, I felt Teacher was helping me. I would feel my Falun rotating, causing my whole body to rotate also.

In August 2001, Teacher told us in his "Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples" article,

I started to learn Falun Dafa after the persecution. At that time, Teacher did not specifically request new practitioners to clarify the truth. Veteran practitioners were concerned that the new practitioners would not develop a strong foundation. Some of the new practitioners also had this concern. However, I knew that if I were determined to cultivate Falun Dafa, I should keep in step with Teacher. Since I learned Falun Dafa later than others, I should not fall behind and should go forth in validating the Fa. Therefore, I enthusiastically distributed truth-clarification materials and VCDs with veteran practitioners and clarified the truth to acquaintances and friends. In addition to sending forth righteous thoughts, studying the Fa, and doing exercises at home, I also wrote letters to clarify the truth.

After a period of time, I felt I was moving along in cultivation at an "up and down" pace. I always had interference while studying the Fa and doing the exercises, and I could not break through this. It seemed like a wall was blocking me. I thought deeply about how to break through this wall and dissolve myself into Dafa. That cultivation state continued until this year. I began to add this thought while sending forth righteous thoughts and clearing my mind: "I am our magnificent Teacher's disciple, a particle of Dafa, a Fa-Rectification period Dafa disciple and a guardian angel of the new universe." Suddenly I realized I must ask myself: "Have I let go of attachments? Do I have enough mighty virtue? Have I been striving forward in cultivation diligently?" The requirements that Teacher has for Fa-Rectification period Dafa disciples are higher and higher! I even had the wrong understanding of doing the three things well for Dafa and Teacher. Isn't that wrong fundamentally?

I read the article "Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples" repeatedly. Teacher said,

Teacher clearly pointed out my existing problem. I was truly ashamed of myself and my cultivation state. I not only had attachments of "selfishness" and "egotism" but was also pursuing consummation, had a self-satisfied heart, thought myself good, and so on. I now understand and realize that I was in danger. Teacher always leads us and reminds us to walk righteously at all times. After clearing away interference and attachments, I was able to pay more attention to Fa study and gradually the bad state disappeared.

Dafa at higher levels has higher standards for Dafa practitioners. Teacher told us in "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People" that,

I will diligently do well the three things Dafa disciples are supposed to do. I will also cultivate my xinxing and let go of attachments, especially the attachments of suspiciousness and shyness with strangers while clarifying the truth. I will have righteous thoughts and righteous actions and be a qualified Dafa practitioner in the Fa-rectification period.
