Jilin Province Police Open Fire on Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Yitong County is less than thirty miles from Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. Prior to July 20 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong began, there were over 1000 Falun Gong practitioners in the area. Since the onset of the persecution, eight practitioners have been illegally sentenced to prison terms, over 150 practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps, and two practitioners have been tortured to death. Police have exhorted over one million yuan from practitioners' relatives.

Mr. Liu Wen worked at the Logistics and Sales Department of the Yitong County Cashmere Factory. As a Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Liu endured much persecution. He has been illegally detained in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp and in brainwashing classes.

On August 27, 2002, police abducted Liu from work and took him to a brainwashing "class" sponsored by the Yitong County Police Station and the local 610 Office. Ma Gang, the former head of the Politics and Security Department at the police station, is currently the head of the National Security branch. Ma supervised the brainwashing. The police abducted seven other practitioners and forced them to attend the class, including Mr. Zheng Lin, Mr. Liu Wen, Ms. Chen Yuxia, and Mr. Zhang Zhen.

At midnight, Liu Wen and three other practitioners tried to escape from the brainwashing class by climbing over a wall. Malicious guards opened fire on them. Fortunately, the four hid in a corner and fled unscathed. The guards said to one another "The practitioners must have been shot dead." The guards then returned to the brainwashing class without checking how severely the practitioners were injured. They have no humanity and carelessly dismissed a possible killing.

Later, the four practitioners were abducted and taken to the Yitong County Police Station. Some vicious officers beat Ms. Chen Yuxia with a square wooden club until she spit up blood. Her family was forced to pay ten thousand yuan in "bail." Liu Wen has been detained in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp since that time.
