Dafa disciples in Mainland China, Dafa disciples around the world, Happy New Year! The Year of Yiyou has begun. During this year, Fa-rectification's enormous force will bring changes to mankind. That being the case, all the more so should you do well the three things that Dafa disciples should do, let go of attachments, and not look with human thoughts at what Dafa disciples need to recognize: the persecution and the true nature of the evil party that has been persecuting us.

We have not been doing political work, we have not been picking fights with the human race's real evil cult, and even less so do we want any worldly political power. During the persecution, we must be clear that we are saving the people in the world who have been misled by the Party's culture, because they believe in that cult so much that they won't even listen to the truth. Also, what we are doing is having those students who are not clearheaded on this issue recognize its evil nature. It is a human attachment that must be let go and a step that has to be taken as part of the process of validating the Fa. Don't use human notions to judge the Fa-rectification or the form in which Dafa disciples cultivate, and don't always prolong the process of improving your understanding due to your human thoughts. You are people walking the path to godhood, and every single attachment will hinder you.

The path that Master tells you to take is sure to be righteous. I hope you will complete--soberly, rationally, and with righteous thoughts--your journey to Consummation.

The Essentials to Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts and the Schedule for Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts at Set Times Around the World (Updated)
(Clearwisdom.net) Sending forth righteous thoughts is one of the three things that Master requires of us. It is very important, and every Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple must do well in this regard. However, for a very long time and due to various reasons, students in some areas of Mainland China have not seen Master's teachings on sending forth righteous thoughts and relevant articles from the Clearwisdom editors. Because of this, they have still not correctly grasped the times and essentials for sending forth righteous thoughts. There are areas where a few individuals have gone and established something new and different of their own, creating interference for some students. To address this, this article is a re-compilation of the requirements and essentials for sending righteous thoughts consisting of articles from the earliest to the latest, and is provided here for reference for Mainland Chinese students and new students from other areas:
I. Essentials for sending forth righteous thoughts
First cleanse yourself for five minutes, and then begin to send forth righteous thoughts to clear away the evil dark minions and rotten demons, and eradicate all of the elements of the Communist evil specter.
Take as an example sending forth righteous thoughts simultaneously across the world: before sending forth righteous thoughts to clear away the evil (starting at 5:55, 11:55, etc), become tranquil for 5 minutes and think about eliminating the bad thoughts in your mind, karma, and bad notions or external interference; and then start to send forth righteous thoughts at the top of the hour, disintegrating the dark minions, rotten demons, and all of the other elements of persecution arranged by the old forces, each time lasting at least five minutes.
When sending forth righteous thoughts, your mind must be focused, pure, and stable--only then can you put your greater abilities into play.
After cleansing your mind, what should you think about before reciting the verses?
Again taking sending forth righteous thoughts simultaneously across the world as an example: after cleansing yourself, starting at the top of each hour and for at least five minutes each time, all of the Dafa disciples across the world should think about the following:

1) Eradicate all evil that damages Dafa, disintegrating all of the dark minions and rotten demons, destroying all elements of the Communist evil specter, and purging these final forms of interference in other dimensions, encompassing all of it and leaving out none;
2) It is fine to designate a couple of specific targets;
3) Silently recite Master's Fa-rectification verses: "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated, and you can add "The Fa rectifies heaven and earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime" as the need arises; whether or not one's primary language is Chinese, they should use accurate Mandarin Chinese pronunciations as much as possible when reciting the verses.
The Chinese pronunciation for the verses are given below:
The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated

fa zheng qian kun
xie e quan mie
(phonetic rendering)
fah jung chyen kwuhn
shyeh uh! chwen myeh
The Fa rectifies heaven and earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime

4) After silently reciting the verses, focus powerful thoughts in saying the word Mie¹ (). The Mie () word needs to be so strong that it's as large as the cosmic body, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing in any dimension. ("Righteous Thoughts")
¹This is the last word in one of the formulas, and means "cleaned out," "eliminated," "purged," etc. It is pronounced "Myeh."
Regarding item number two above, before silently reciting the verses and the word Mie, it is fine to silently add in a thought based on the local conditions. For example: eradicate the evil in the local labor camp or brainwashing center, have some specific wicked individual receive immediate karmic retribution, etc. But please make sure to note: it is not appropriate for the actual targets to be too numerous or specific, otherwise, not only will it take too long to recite and cause you to miss the time for everyone sending forth righteous thoughts together, if you can't calm your mind, it won't achieve the effect of sending forth righteous thoughts, and because it is all specific things, this will limit the realm of influence of your own powers.
Master said in the scripture "Righteous Thoughts",

"There are also some students who, when they send righteous thoughts, specifically target in their minds one or a few evil elements, and that prevents the gong and the divine powers they send out from having the maximum effect. Of course, if the circumstances are special and you target one evil being or a few evil beings as you send forth righteous thoughts, either by yourself or together, then that's something you should do, and the concentrated power is tremendous. But when you normally send righteous thoughts together on a daily basis you should chase down the evil on a larger scale. You shouldn't target one or a few evil beings each day, each time."
You have to serenely, silently recite the verses
Before sending forth righteous thoughts, you need to have powerful, steadfast thoughts to eliminate the evil, and know that your righteous thoughts can for sure eliminate the evil. Use pure, righteous benevolence and serenely, silently recite the Fa-rectification verses.
Attention:

5) The requirement for reciting the verses is to "recite silently," not chant loudly (or audibly). Reciting the verses does not mean chanting them repeatedly. When silently reciting the verses, the more tranquil, the more steadfast, the more pure and stable the thoughts, the greater the power they will have.
6) When sending forth righteous thoughts, after reciting the verse once silently, it is best if one can maintain righteous thoughts within a state of tranquility. When the righteous thoughts are not stable, repeat the verse again to focus one's energies. Repeatedly and continuously reciting the verses will affect one's state of tranquility; over-emphasizing the reciting of the verses could in fact restrict the range in which the supernormal powers are effective.
7) Some students look at the surface results after sending forth righteous thoughts, and they'll think that their sending forth righteous thoughts is ineffective if they can't see the surface results. This is caused by not understanding the Fa principles well and not having strong enough righteous thoughts, and this will affect the results of sending forth righteous thoughts. Before sending forth righteous thoughts, it is imperative to strengthen your own thoughts to steadfastly eliminate the evil, and know for sure that your righteous thoughts will be able to eliminate the evil. Only studying the Fa a lot and well can enable us to reinforce our righteous thoughts and do well in sending forth righteous thoughts, one of the three things that Master requires each Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples to do well.
Master said in "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference",

"When you send righteous thoughts you shouldn't keep reciting the formula. You just need to recite it once and it'll work, except for in special circumstances. If you feel that you can't become tranquil and you readjust your righteous thoughts, that's okay, but still it's just for that moment. Actually, when you can truly be tranquil, one thought is more than enough to shake Heaven and Earth, there's nothing that it can't do, and it's as if it immediately immobilizes and restrains everything covered by your domain; you're like a mountain, and you instantly restrain them. You shouldn't always have an unsteady mind. You can't achieve that when your mind is unsteady."
When sending forth righteous thoughts, make sure that you are clearheaded and the strength of the thoughts is powerful
Master said in "Righteous Thoughts",

"At present, there are still some students who haven't really grasped the essentials of sending righteous thoughts. Some students are in the exact same state as when they do the meditation--even when they're just doing the meditation, some students are in a half-asleep state, are in a state in which their minds aren't alert enough, or are in a state in which they're severely interfered with by stray thoughts--so they can't achieve a very good effect"
In "Righteous Thoughts", Master's instructions on how to send forth righteous thoughts are as follows,

"This is how to do it: (1) You should focus your attention and your effort, your mind has to be absolutely clear and rational, the force of your thoughts needs to be focused and strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos. (2) The disciples who for the time being aren't able to see other dimensions can focus powerful thoughts in saying the word Mie¹ () after they finish saying the formula(s). The Mie () word needs to be so strong that it's as large as the cosmic body, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing in any dimension. (3) Those disciples who can see the evil beings in other dimensions can handle things according to the situations they are aware of. Their righteous thoughts need to be strong, and they should fully use their wisdom. One righteous thought itself subdues a hundred evil things. (4) Closing your eyes and not closing your eyes both have the same effect when you send righteous thoughts. If you keep your eyes open you need to reach a state where you don't take note of anything you see in the dimension of everyday people."

The position and hand gesture for sending for righteous thoughts

Whether walking, eating, or working, sending forth righteous thoughts can be done in any environment. It doesn't have to be in the sitting meditation, and it can be done with the eyes open or closed. It's not absolutely required to do the hand gestures, but you must concentrate your efforts in your thinking, and make sure your mind is focused, pure and steadfast.
If you want to use the hand gestures during sending forth righteous thoughts, then you must do so according to Master's requirements, and use either the upright palm or the lotus flower palm (see the article "The Two Hand Gestures for Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts" June 12, 2001, which contains pictures of Master demonstrating the gestures). If you add in or create gestures on your own, then it is not an act out of righteous thoughts done by Dafa disciples.
II. Recommended times for Dafa disciples all over the world to send forth righteous thoughts simultaneously

Four set times during each day: 6 a.m., noon, 6 p.m. and midnight Beijing time, as well as 5 a.m., 6 a.m., and 7 a.m. Beijing time each Sunday. (For new students in other areas, please use time zone conversions to determine your local times.)
First cleanse yourself for five minutes each time before sending forth righteous thoughts, and send forth righteous thoughts for at least five minutes.
If there are special circumstances (for example to ensure that no manufacturing safety problems occur during the day at work), it is fine to adjust accordingly on your own (for example participating in the daily global sending forth righteous thoughts once or twice less). But the premise is that you must maintain the state of mind of a Dafa disciple, place a high importance on sending forth righteous thoughts well and doing so persistently, and it would be best to find other times to make up for it.

Kinki Area Minghui School of Japan Officially Started in Spring and Sends Chinese New Year's Greetings to Great Revered Master

With the increase of new practitioners in the Kinki area of Japan, there are also more children. To provide the children with a good cultivation environment, Kinki Area Minghui School was officially set up on February 6, 2005. The school is guided by "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and teaches children Chinese, so as to lay a good foundation for them to better understand the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun.
Kinki Area Minghui School currently focuses on Hong Yin, and teaches Falun Gong exercises, accompanied by other activities, such as handcrafts, singing and games. They also take part in various activities to provide children with a cultivation environment where children can communicate and help each other, forming an integrated entity of young Falun Gong disciples. As the school has just been set up, many things are not mature enough, but with school teachers and students' efforts, we believe we will be more and more close to the maturity.

Welcoming the New Spring, Minghui Weekly is Now Available to the Chinese People

Minghui Weekly Inaugural Statement
With the Lunar New Year right around the corner, Minghui.net (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net), presents its first issue of Minghui Weekly as a New Year's gift. This weekly publication is a window through which the Chinese people can positively exercise their right to know about Falun Gong. It is also a powerful tool for Falun Dafa practitioners in China who are clarifying the truth.
Over the past five years, Minghui.net has periodically published a variety of flyers, journals, and booklets, such as Sentient Beings, New Epoch, Minghui Digest, Falun Dafa is Good, Fa Net is Tightening, and Minghui Weekends to mainland Chinese readers. Based on our audience's needs and our past experience, we decided to stop issuing Minghui Digest, which is suitable for normal society, but not for the current situation in China. In its place we have formed the Minghui Weekly editorial group and will now publish Minghui Weekly for all of China. We hope the new Minghui Weekly can focus more specifically on each specific group in the audience. At the same time, all Falun Dafa practitioners, whether they live in the cities or the countryside, and whether the truth is well known or still needs lots of clarification, can be involved in the production and distribution of this publication, further strengthening our oneness in Dafa.
Under the circumstance of the persecution, which is still ongoing in China, the Minghui Weekly will temporarily use a flyer format. Each issue will consist of three parts: 1. City Oasis, addressing urban residents; 2. Village Folks, addressing the countryside; 3. Cheerful Voices at Dawn, for young readers. The format of each section will be an independent, two-page flyer. The content and style will continue to evolve and improve to meet the audience's needs.
Every material center in China can choose one or two parts to download, print and distribute weekly. If conditions allow, they can add local information, such as local persecution facts, perpetrators' names, or even add a "Local Column" to the Minghui Weekly to attract and help local readers.
We hope all Falun Dafa practitioners in China as well as overseas who have publishing experience or who are familiar with certain audience groups will provide feedback, submit articles, or offer help of any kind. Let us work together to clarify the truth more completely, more deeply, and more specifically. Finally, we hope Minghui Weekly can bring the spring to every household, walk into people's hearts, bring good fortune, hope and a bright and beautiful future to the Chinese people!

Facts of the Persecution
More Information about Mr. Cao Yang, a Chongqing Practitioner Who Was Tortured to Death in 2001 (Photo)

Mr. Cao Yang was born in November 1971. He was a Falun Gong practitioner from Nanchuan, Chongqing City and he used to be the director of the Dongsheng Power Plant. Around 6 o'clock in the morning on October 12, 2000, the Nanchuan City Police Department abducted him because he had printed Falun Gong flyers.
Because Cao Yang refused to renounce Falun Dafa, the Nanchuan City Court sentenced him to three years in prison in February 2001. On April 16, 2001, he was sent to the Dianjiang Forced Labor Camp where he was detained in a "strictly monitored team," specifically set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Later, he was transferred to Team No. 1. Then, on June 17, 2001, he was sent back to the strictly monitored team. On August 26, 2001, he was found dead in the washroom. The labor camp authorities did not inform his family of his death until two days later.
The labor camp authorities claimed that Cao's death was a suicide and his family refused to sign the death certificate. Several days later, the authorities visited his family, along with local police officers, to force them to sign the death certificate. They threatened to have every one in the family fired from their jobs if they did not cooperate. Under this tremendous pressure, Cao's family signed the document.
According to sources within the labor camp, Cao Yang had suffered numerous tortures. However, his faith in Falun Dafa remained firm, and he shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good" at a meeting that had been organized to slander Falun Gong. When it became clear that the labor camp authorities intended to kill him, he bit his finger and wrote on the wall with his blood "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good."
Jilin Province Falun Gong Practitioner Yang Xiaohai Given Illegal Trial, Court Appoints Strangers to Pose as Family Members
(Clearwisdom.net) At 8:20 a.m. on January 19, 2005, the Jiaohe City People's Court held an illegal trial of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Xiaohai from Naizishan, Jiaohe City, Jilin Province in Courtroom Eight on the second floor. Among the participants were officials from the Jiaohe Communist Party Committee and City Political and Judiciary Committee, members of the 610 Office, some staff from the Procurator's office, Chief Justice of the court and some office personnel. They even brought in some peasants from nearby villages to act as Yang Xiaohai's family members.
Before the trial, the court officials made the following arrangements: blocking information, not telling the family, not issuing a hearing permit (only the 610 Office could issue a permit in this trial against Yang Xiaohai), denying hearing requests from family members.
During the illegal trial, the security in the courthouse was extremely tight. The gatekeepers were on duty outside the entrance, and from courtroom eight to the lobby. 610 Office personnel were all over the place. Outside the courtroom, police officers served as guards. Family members were kept away from the building. Mr. Yang Xiaohai was not allowed to hire a defense lawyer.
Yang's wife Guo Shiqing is 45 years old. Before she practiced Falun Gong, she was bedridden and could not live without the help of others. In 1995, she started to practice Falun Gong. Soon she regained her health and became capable of caring for herself and helping her husband to do farm work. After July 1999, when the government began to persecute Falun Gong, their home was repeatedly searched. Both of them were arrested, detained and extorted out of money. Police officer Wang Aisheng from the Naizishan Police Station even beat up their young son.
We strongly demand the immediate release of Yang Xiaohai and all detained practitioners and to bring the perpetrators of the persecution to justice.
A Letter Delivered from the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp After Passing Through Many Hands
(Clearwisdom.net) Officer Sun Zhian and others from the Linhe Police Station in Jinzhou City tortured me after I was arrested and taken to the police station. I was then taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp where I am currently detained, without any legal procedures. Group leader Wang said my record shows that I was arrested for carrying a Falun Gong related VCD while visiting a friend's home.
At the forced labor camp, I suffered unspeakable humiliation, abuses, and torture because I maintained my firm belief in Falun Dafa. The mental pressure and tortures to which practitioners are subjected is beyond what anyone can imagine. The nightmares I've experienced during my detention are imprinted in my mind and continually haunt me.
The guards strictly monitor me, fearing that I may influence other practitioners. Everything I say and do are tightly monitored and constrained. The brigade head said, "Talking is not allowed if a practitioner is not 'reformed'." Once a fellow practitioner greeted me in the bathroom, and was immediately scolded by the criminal detainees. We are monitored 24 hours a day.
In the camp, I wrote a letter to appeal my case, describing how I had been illegally insulted and tortured. The camp officers, however, would not send my letter out. Instead, they threatened that the letter would be used as evidence to sentence me to Dabei Prison.
During brainwashing sessions, the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp deprived us of sleep. We were forced to work extra-long hours, deprived of sleep for several consecutive days, or only allowed a few hours of sleep per day. I was forced to go through brainwashing sessions from 4:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. for an entire month. I was given the nickname "die-hard person" because I refused to cooperate or be transformed through brainwashing.
Since I did not give up the practice of Falun Gong, the guards confined me in a small cell for many months. I was handcuffed to a chair for nine consecutive days. This made it difficult to sleep and I was only freed to use the bathroom. I was also forced to stand in the guards' bathroom for eight consecutive days. The bathroom had no windows to allow fresh air in. The guards read books that defamed Dafa, and cursed and slandered Teacher to mentally torture me. I was forced to eat in the bathroom. When my feet swelled up and I could not stand anymore, they still forced me to stand on my feet until I almost fainted. Even in my condition, after I was sent back to the cell, I was still forced to work and was not allowed to sleep.
Two days after I was released from solitary confinement, I wrote a letter exposing how the guards illegally tortured me. For that, they confined me in a cell in the north side with no heat, and handcuffed me to a chair for another nine straight days and nights. It was late December. My feet and hands were shackled to the chair, and I could not sleep. My hands were frozen and went numb, and I could not straighten my fingers. I was freezing all the way to my heart, I was always trembling, and I suffered horrendous pain on my lips. The handcuffs hurt me physically, but more so mentally. My feet swelled up until they didn't fit into my shoes. I was only allowed to use the bathroom twice a day, at 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. When my period came, due to the extreme cold it stopped after one day, and did not resume until eighteen months later.
During the second solitary confinement, I was always handcuffed and had to be pulled by someone to get in and out of the cell. I felt very humiliated. I was given only dry cakes and salted vegetables to eat. I could only drink water when using the bathroom and this had to be done quickly and under pressure from the group leader. From 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the camp loudly broadcast programs that slandered Falun Gong that resonated in the small cell. During the first five days, I did not have anything to drink or eat. On December 30, 2003, they released me back to a regular cell.
Back at the regular cell, I suffered more than I did during the nine days of torture in the confined cell. On the first night, the frostbite on my hands and feet caused severe pain. My health deteriorated rapidly, and I developed a fever due to the extreme cold. My feet swelled up and were covered with blisters. I couldn't endure the excruciating pain any longer and cried out loudly. I had to rely on two people for support when using the bathroom.
The guards at the labor camp sent me to a hospital because they didn't want to take responsibility for what happened to me. The doctors prescribed some medications for me. Group leader Yang Xiaofeng shackled me to the bed and injected me with penicillin. As I was allergic to medication, my finger tips became extremely painful after the injection. They injected in me a total of six bottles of penicillin, and deducted 400 yuan from my account as medical fee. The medical fee and prescription, however, did not match, and they gave no explanation. They threatened that I should ask no more questions.
Although eighteen months has elapsed, my toes and the soles of my feet are still numb. For several months, I could not sleep due to the pain from the frostbite on my feet. Instead of showing concern, the guards used a variety of methods to cover up their persecution. I have used various ways, including writing letters to expose the inhumane treatments I suffered. Back then, the doctor said I had pancreatitis. I could not take in food, and I felt nauseated. The doctors said it was dangerous to eat. Fearing that I would go on a hunger strike, the guards forced me to eat. My brain and body have suffered permanent injuries.
Since I refused to do forced labor, my term was extended and I was locked up in a warehouse with dirty air and no windows. I was forced to work in the warehouse for four months starting at 4:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. One night I suddenly lost my memory. I am gradually recovering, but I have lost my previous sharp mind, and cannot think consistently. Currently it is difficult for me to read a book or take control of my impulsive mind. I know that all this is directly due to the damage caused by the long term sleep deprivation.
On September 1, 2003, I was transferred to Group 5, but I was still isolated from the others. They had people accompany me, to prevent me from talking with others. The cell I am staying in right now is damp and cold, with no sunlight. Last November, when I was strictly monitored for 24 hours a day, the guards forced me to sit in a one-square-foot area, and I was not allowed to move. My daily meals consisted of a half-cooked steamed bun made from spoiled flour. It would become moldy in one day. I told the guards that this kind of food was not edible, but they replied, "This is what you have to eat, like it or not!" I then said, "Moldy food is poisonous." But group leader Wang said, "If you do not eat, we'll force-feed you."
I have been confined in a small cell for more than eight months. There are no windows in the cell. Due to the forced-feeding I am very malnourished, and this has led to heart problems and a weak body. Many people have witnessed me being force-fed. Many people sit on top of me while the guards pry open my mouth and force-feed me with corn porridge, water, or garlic. The one liter of water or porridge they force-feed me three times a day caused me to have excruciating stomach pains. I have to use the bathroom every thirty minutes.

Torturing me mentally and physically is not enough for the labor camp. They have also deducted over 1,000 yuan from my account.
Before May 1, 2004, they again gave everyone moldy food. During the five days of the May first holiday, we had to peel garlic every day. After the holiday, we ate food made of moldy corn flour, and many inmates suffered from diarrhea and vomiting. Since my stomach didn't feel well, I did not eat anything.
Seven days a week, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., I was forced to sit on a small stool and work in the cell. The smell of garlic, paint, and other various materials inside the cell made it difficult to breathe. I felt I was suffocating.
The above is only a fraction of what I suffered in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
In their persecution of practitioners, the camp combines mental, physical, and economic torture and pressure in order to destroy practitioners' wills. Many practitioners have been killed or seriously injured in the process. Such persecution is still ongoing!

The Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Dongmei by the Gansu Provincial Committee Party School
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Dongmei is 47 years old, has a college degree, and is an associate Professor in the Gansu Provincial Committee Party School. She was once injured while on the job, and as a consequence she became riddled with illnesses. In early 1999, Professor Li started practicing Falun Gong and benefited from it both physically and mentally. Because she persevered in her belief, in the past several years, she has been abducted, detained, and sent to brainwashing classes and a mental hospital for persecution by Fan Peng (home phone: 86-931-7765116 office: 86-931-7760851), vice president of the Provincial Committee Party School Wang Zhixue (home phone: 86-931-7768398, office: 86-931-7765229), director of the 610 Office Lin Shiwen, deputy director of the 610 Office Han Ming, Chen Zhigang and others from the Political Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau in Anning District, Lanzhou City. She is now being detained in a forced labor camp.
In early March 2001, the 610 Office of the Party School and 4-5 people from the Political Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau in Anning District, Lanzhou City, tricked Ms. Li Dongmei into going to the public security bureau. Because she refused to give up her belief, the police illegally detained her for 15 days on a false charge of "interfering with law enforcement." Prior to this, in the year 2000, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yao Baorong from Lanfei Factory in Anning District, Lanzhou City died there as a result of persecution. After 15 days, the police still did not release her. Later, because of her physical problems, the public security bureau was afraid of taking responsibility and released her. The Party School also deducted 3000 yuan out of Professor Li's pay without authorization and claimed it was used for holding the brainwashing classes by the public security bureau. Since then, the 610 Office of the Party School has prevented Professor Li from receiving her service pay, bonuses and benefits.
At the end of 2001, the first brainwashing class in Lanzhou City was held. Fan Peng, Wang Zhixue, public security officers, more than a dozen policemen, and security guards forcibly abducted Professor Li from her workplace to the Longjiawan brainwashing class. Handling Ms. Li roughly, the thugs injured her hand. During the brainwashing class, Fan Peng and several section chiefs came every other day to try to force her to give up her belief, but they did not succeed. Two months later, the work unit had spent 12,000 yuan and used several groups of people to try to wear her down, but it was all in vain. Later, because Professor Li's child was critically ill, she was released. The Party School also planned to send people to her home to monitor her, but Professor Li refused them sternly.
In November 2002, Ms. Li Dongmei was arrested by plain-clothes police for posting truth-clarifying materials. She was once again sent to the brainwashing class. Her home was ransacked by the Political Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau and the 610 Office.
Because Ms. Li Dongmei remained steadfast, 19 days later she was sent to the No.1 Mental Hospital of Gansu Province, located in Tianshui City, by Wang Zhixue, director of the 610 Office, and Chen Zhigang from the Political Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau. The mental hospital is a place of filth and sheer horror. Professor Li suffered there for 100 days. Because no one paid for her expenses, the hospital notified her family members to take her out. Her husband paid the expenses and brought her home. After she came home, people from the Political Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau in Anning District and the Party School's 610 Office still went after her. In April 2003, she was illegally sentenced to 18 months of forced labor, but Ms. Li Dongmei refused to sign her name. Because her husband could not bear the harassment from the police, he divorced Ms. Li. The court ruled that the son would be raised by his mother. Because of this arrangement, she could not be sent to forced labor, so the sentence was carried out at her home.
On January 5, 2005, under the instigation of Fan Peng, Wang Zhixue, and Lin Shiwen, policeman Yang Yanwen (phone: 86-13399315860) from Shilidian Police Station, Zhang Zhenmin (phone: 86-931-3312279) from the Joint Defense Battalion, and two other people arrested Ms. Li Dongmei, who was on her way to pick up her child. They sent her to another brainwashing class, and later to the Female Forced Labor Camp in Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City. On January 6, several people from the Anning District Political Security Brigade pried open the door and ransacked Ms. Li's home.

In the process of clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa, some practitioners were arrested by the police. The practitioners were strapped to a Tiger Bench and forced to wear a gauze mask, which was soaked in mustard oil. If the gauze dried out, it would be soaked in mustard oil again. Practitioner Xiaobu was forced to wear this kind of mask for three consecutive days. When the mask was removed, the skin fell away from his face.

A 610 Office Agent in Shandong Province Admits the Persecution is Not Sustainable
(Clearwisdom.net) A Minghui Net (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) reporter states that Dafa practitioners in mainland China recently made several contacts with the personnel of a local 610 Office in Shandong Province. Office personnel frankly admitted that the 610 Office does not have the strength to continue persecuting Falun Gong.
One Shandong Province 610 Office employee admitted, "According to our preliminary estimate, there are from several thousand to probably more than 10,000 people in our area who are practicing Falun Gong at home, and the number is increasing. Because they do not come out into the open, we cannot do anything about them. In our area several practitioners were sentenced to imprisonment, nearly 100 were sent to forced labor camps, and over 400 people were "reformed" at four re-education centers, but those numbers don't account for anything near the total number of practitioners in our area."
This 610 Office employee continued, "Many articles published on Minghui.net have been from our area, but we cannot investigate them even if we wanted to. Flyers, CDs, Falun Dafa cards, and posters are everywhere. What can we do about it? Nothing, there is nothing we can do. We simply catch a few people arbitrarily so that we have something to report to our superiors."
The person said, "Each session of the re-education class lasts three months and costs 10,000 yuan per practitioner. For every person 'reformed,' we are supposed to pay a monetary reward of 20,000 yuan. That means we would be out 30,000 yuan for each practitioner. To transform 10,000 people we would need 3 million yuan. Where can we get that kind of money? At so many places, with so many staff members and so many helping and coaching personnel to do the work, if there is no money, no one wants to do it! In addition, the Falun Gong practitioners that have claimed to be transformed were all pretending, and we know that they will continue to practice when they get out. All we can do is scare a few cowards and force them to write something so we can get our reward money."
This employee also said, "We are not '610 Office' personnel anymore: we are 'Anti-cult Association' personnel. I never thought that even our title would change back and forth. It's all to meet the needs of the politicians!"
The comments expressed by the 610 Office employee above verify that for several years the Chinese Communist Party and the Jiang regime have been bribing officials to illegally arrest and brainwash Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, based on the numbers of practitioners the 610 Offices have reportedly handled during the past five plus years that Jiang Zemin has persecuted Falun Gong, the number of people who practice Falun Gong in mainland China has not decreased. Instead, it has been increasing steadily.
The reporter learned that recently the heads of many work units in China have been reporting that there are no Falun Gong practitioners in their work units anymore, even though the number is increasing. This is the technique they are using to deal with the pressure from Jiang's 610 Office system.
But the persecution continues. In some areas the 610 Office and the police are still not willing to give up their illusions about brainwashing. So what kind of people are still trying to fish for money and power by persecuting Falun Gong? The reporter talked with several people who knew the situation:

The heads of some work units are just plain mean, and they are still actively persecuting Falun Gong;
The heads of some work units are timid and afraid of trouble, so they are still toeing the line on the persecution;
Some police officers want to get promotions for persecuting Falun Gong, so they are still actively harassing practitioners.
Some people who are dead-set on the purpose of the 610 Office are fishing for money. If they find out that any of the Falun Gong practitioners are having family difficulties or that any practitioners are timid, they will focus on persecuting those practitioners, trying to force them to transform in order to get monetary rewards.

Some insiders have made the comment that anyone who spared no effort to help the Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong actually had his or her own personal interests in mind. Under the current situation, everyone can see that the funding has dried up and that the evil mechanism that was created especially to persecute Falun Gong no longer works and is rapidly falling apart. On the other hand, Falun Gong practitioners depend on the strength of their belief. In any difficult situation, what really sustains people is their beliefs and their spiritual strength.

In winter 2003, I clarified the truth to a leader in the Bureau of Industry and Commerce and gave him some informational materials. He enjoyed listening to and reading them. He told me, "The Party is so corrupt. We really need Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in our country. The people who practice Falun Gong are all good people."
I even gave the truth-clarifying brochure to a leader of the Forestry Bureau and told him the truth about Falun Gong. He said, "Li, a young person who works in our office, also practices Falun Gong. He is a really good person. He relinquished his condo to others when our office gave out condos. Such a good person has been arrested by the police department and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. His sister-in-law also practices Falun Gong and has benefited from the practice. She is a good person too. I heard that the head of the local police station arrested her one day and she died the next day."
Another practitioner and I have clarified the truth to a young person in the Bureau of Industry and Commerce. He voluntarily asked for the truth clarifying materials. He told me that he has already watched the truth clarifying VCD and immediately realized that the Tiananmen Self-immolation incident was fake. "How could the police officers go on patrol carrying fire extinguishers and take pictures while the officer was holding the fire-smothering blanket?"
He also said that people should take a look at the content of Zhuan Falun first and then draw their own conclusions. The government deceives the public. The things the government does are really dirty. Then he expressed his willingness to practice Falun Dafa. I gave him some Dafa books and instructional videotapes. He was really happy and decided to practice Falun Gong seriously.
A Dafa practitioner is given a position of responsibility at her new job
A female Dafa practitioner was hired by a private enterprise after her office fired her because she persists in practicing Falun Gong. During the interview, the practitioner asked the manager, "I practice Falun Dafa. Do you have any concerns?" The manager laughed, "I know about your story. I surf the Internet very often." He also said that a lot of practitioners have been oppressed and tortured to death.
After watching her for a while, the manager assigned the purchasing work that everyone considered as work with "benefits" to this Dafa practitioner. This position is in charge of tens of thousands of yuan in cash every month and a lot of purchases are not formally invoiced. It is therefore very easy to make some illegal gains from this position. But the manager trusts the Dafa practitioner and believes that she is qualified for this work. This made a deep impression on other staff members in the office. They said that the elder sister of a Falun Gong practitioner, when doing work, did a good job and made the boss feel assured.
Kindhearted police officer: "Please don't tell them that I told you this."
A practitioner in a large city in southwestern China was kidnapped by the local police, and held at the custody center and brainwashing center. She was interrogated and threatened by the police officers repeatedly. Among the policemen, there was a police officer who had a sense of righteousness. When the other policemen were not around he told her, "I just want to let you know that the slogan, 'If you confess, the punishment will be lightened, but if you insist on refusing, the punishment will be severe' is a lie. Actually if you 'confess,' you will stay in jail forever, but if you 'persist,' you will be able to go back home in time for the Spring Festival. Please don't tell them that I told you this."
184 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void

Since July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Dafa began, Jiang's regime has carried out an extensive and misleading propaganda campaign against Falun Gong in conjunction with a systematic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. My older sister was taken into custody several times for practicing Falun Gong. She was even sentenced to forced labor for two years. I was also implicated. Special agents from the state security department summoned me to extort money from me. I was forced to pay 2,000 yuan to get my sister released on parole. I had to go visit my sister in a forced labor camp in another town, where I found her in terrible shape as a result of torture. Out of fear of the government, as well as concerns for my sister, I said disrespectful things about Falun Dafa and Teacher Li. After my sister had explained the true situation to me, I realized that the government reports are complete distortions, which are meant to hurt people all around the world. Hereby, I solemnly declare that anything I said against Falun Dafa and Teacher Li is null and void. Any and all so-called Guarantee Statements I signed under pressure at the police station, the state security department, and the labor camp are completely void. I will take every opportunity in the future to tell people that Falun Dafa is great and to make up for the damage that I have caused.

Let Go of Human Thoughts, Step Out from the Throngs of Everyday People, Rectify Oneself, and Validate Dafa
(Clearwisdom.net) Everyday people's attachments constitute the part that has not assimilated to the Fa. If one still allows them to remain, then one is not, or not fully, transcending ordinary people. One will be entangled in various distracting thoughts and worry about personal gains and losses. This will cause us, the Fa-rectification Dafa disciples, to have trouble honoring our vows. The evil dark minions will take advantage of our loopholes and allow us to be used by demons.
Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston,"

"When you're not coolheaded, I'll tell you, that's when demons are using you. I don't care how long you've cultivated for, and it doesn't matter what reputation you have among Dafa disciples, I can guarantee that's what's going on when you're not paying attention to these things. Let me tell you, no matter how well you've cultivated, as long as you still have everyday people's attachments, those are what demons can use, and when you're not paying attention they can be used at any moment."

Human attachments are specifically displayed as desires, jealousy, vanity, showing-off, zealotry, hatred, attachment to doing things, confusion, irritation, discouragement, attachment to gain and loss, lust, laziness, fear, feeling inferior, arrogance, complacency, and others. These all come from selfishness, which can be classified as a fundamental attachment or attachment to self. However, these attachments depart from Dafa's requirements of a cultivator. Only by letting go of these attachments can we truly step out from the multitudes of everyday people. All these human thoughts are karma. These stubborn and harder-than-granite substances have been formed from karma piling on top of karma from remote ages, and they are real, existing matter.
When we say, "look within, look within," these traits are what we are looking within for. In other dimensions they are truly of material existence. We are eliminating those things when we send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the bad thoughts, karma, and bad notions and interference in our minds. These things are the soil, environment, and space that the dark minions rely on to survive. When we do not pay attention and possess these "heavy" human thoughts, they will act without restraint to interfere with Dafa disciples and the Fa-rectification. Only by separating ourselves from the throngs of everyday people, participating actively in validating Dafa, solidly doing well "the three things," and undertaking our significant and historical responsibilities can we then, in the process, correspondingly let go of human thoughts. The most important action is clarifying the truth. The following are some of my opinions and understandings.
A long time friend of mine came back to our hometown and came to my home to visit. Because our friendship was close and the foundation solid, I directly clarified the truth and validated Dafa to him. He had negative notions, and the result was not ideal. I felt deep regret after he left. As a result I began to study the Fa and search within. I realized that I still had serious human thoughts, such as the attachment to showing-off. I still wanted to validate myself. Personal relationships and relationships between friends had become of primary importance to me. I did not behave according to the Fa and did not speak wisely given my friend's attachments. Even more serious was the fact that I had used human sentimentality as a guide, and thus the result was not good.
After that, clarifying the truth became more interesting. Most recently I went to visit a friend who lived far away. Since we had not seen each other for dozens of years, we were both very enthusiastic. We talked about a lot of our experiences. Next, we talked about the Chinese Communist Party's fabrications. This gradually led to talking about Dafa. We talked about the fabrication of the "Tiananmen Self-Immolation" incident, and other specifics. We also talked about how a cultivator can achieve a healthy mind and body and raise his xinxing level. Everything went very smoothly. Although many questions were raised in the process, I acted according to the Fa and could explain things well to him, and he understood and agreed. Comparing the two instances of validating the Fa to my friends, the first time human sentimentality was used to validate the Fa, while the second time benevolence without human thoughts was used. The first instance was weak and ineffective. The latter instance had surpassing power and displayed Dafa's mighty virtue.
I felt good on my way home, and I felt many human attachments had been discarded. Compared to my former self, who was attached to showing-off and self-validating, I was like a different person. I truly felt like I'd ascended to another level and thought to myself, "What a good experience of cultivation!"
Master said,

"There's something you must pay attention to: you are validating the Fa, not validating yourselves. A Dafa disciple's responsibility is to validate the Fa. Validating the Fa is cultivation, and what you remove in the cultivation process is none other than the attachment to self; you can't, instead, go and exacerbate the problem of validating oneself, even if you do it unwittingly. When you're validating the Fa and cultivating, that is a process of removing self, and only when you do that are you really validating yourself. That's because ultimately you have to let go of all your human things, and only after you've let go of all your human attachments can you step out from the throngs of everyday people." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asian-Pacific Students")

In order to step out from the throngs of everyday people and validate Dafa we need to do the three things well together. This is tied to eliminating the evil, saving sentient beings, rectifying ourselves to assimilate to Dafa, and our own path to Consummation.
Master said,

"In terms of Dafa disciples' responsibilities, there are still many things that need to be done in greater depth, especially clarifying the facts. Doing a better job of informing people about the facts more deeply is tied to the people of the future obtaining the Fa, tied to all beings being rescued, tied to negating the old forces, tied to eliminating the evil and this persecution, and tied to your own Consummation." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference")

Clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings are our primary objectives. Only by letting go of our human attachments and stepping out from the throngs of everyday people can we improve. Letting go of human attachments is the key and fundamental point. Master said, "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People." The prerequisite is to let go of one's human attachments. Master also said, "In Fa-Rectification Your Thoughts Have to be Righteous, Not Human." Thus the elimination of our human notions is most urgent.
Eliminating human notions is to separate oneself from this world of ordinary people.
Master said,

"At the crucial moment when I ask you to break away from humanness, you do not follow me. Each opportunity will not occur again." ("Digging Out the Roots" in Essentials for Further Advancement)
"Human beings are just human beings. At critical moments it is hard for them to let go of their human notions, but they always try to find excuses to convince themselves. A magnificent cultivator, on the other hand, is able to let go of his Self and even all of his ordinary human thoughts amidst crucial trials." ("Position" in Essentials for Further Advancement II)

As particles of Fa-Rectification, we must eliminate our human notions. At our current state in the Fa-Rectification, each sentient being's capability to enter the new universe solely depends upon one's own choice. Some will assimilate to the Fa, some will be benevolently resolved by Dafa, and some will be destroyed. How Dafa practitioners position themselves is a most serious matter. There is really nothing to be attached to in this old universe, and we should completely separate ourselves from it. The products of this old universe - selfishness, attachments, human thoughts and notions - are the things we must completely eliminate without leaving behind a single trace, for no human thought can be taken to heaven.
Maintain an Unshakable Calm

Teacher said,

"We negate even the very emergence of the old forces and everything that they've arranged; we don't even acknowledge their existence. We're fundamentally negating all of their things, and all of, and only, the things you do while negating and getting rid of them is mighty-virtue." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference")

I had been pondering this specific part of a recent Fa lecture by Teacher. Exactly what should we do to negate their existence?
I shared my thoughts with another practitioner while in New York last September, yet my question remained unresolved. All I could remember was Teacher's words in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference":

"When you're able to walk a righteous path, that means your righteous thoughts are strong, you're doing things according to Dafa's requirements, and you're doing things according to Master's requirements, then you are negating the old forces, and you are walking your path in a righteous way."

Teacher asked us to do "the three things," yet why are many Dafa practitioners still unable to eliminate the interference after doing these three things?
Once we organized an "anti-torture exhibit." There were construction workers doing excavation work nearby. Their activities generated very loud noises that drowned out our exercise music and overwhelmed the narrating voices from our loudspeakers. We could not hear clearly the questions raised by people viewing the exhibit, and they could not hear our replies, either. I tried to talk to people as loud as I could, but to no avail. At that moment I felt really annoyed. I knew this was interference and that it must be eliminated by sending forth righteous thoughts. However, I also immediately saw my own frustration and irritation. I adjusted my state of mind and made myself settle down and not pay attention to it. Right away I noticed that things changed for the better and my interaction with people improved significantly. Other practitioners continued their activities according to the original plan while sending forth righteous thoughts. They just carried on as usual and unperturbed and the interference factor self-eradicated. Soon the noise disappeared all together.
Before I practiced Falun Gong, I suffered from hemorrhoids. When I went to New York, these symptoms recurred. I knew that it only appeared to be hemorrhoids and was just an illusion. To make me believe it was hemorrhoids there was bleeding, yet I was not fazed by the apparent symptoms and went on doing the three things required of us by Teacher. Soon the symptoms disappeared.
In the "Fa Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference," Teacher said,

"But you should always remember one thing: no matter who is interfering, it's all temporary, all illusions, not the main body, and it's all just like air flowing through."

Through earlier experiences, I recognized that we must first maintain an unshakable calm and remain unperturbed. I recalled Teacher's words in Zhuan Falun,

"I am a person who dislikes fighting with others, and neither was it worth a fight with him. Whenever he brought some bad things upon me, I would just clear them up. Afterwards, I would resume my lecturing."... "Because he always committed bad deeds and interfered with my teaching of Dafa, I then eliminated him completely."

Teacher eliminated it because it interfered with his teaching the Fa, but Teacher was never perturbed. We send forth righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil because it interfered with Fa rectification and salvation of sentient beings, not because they caused our discomfort (whether physically or mentally). Teacher said,

"Regardless of whether it's the old forces' arrangements or karma, we should first of all examine ourselves. I ask you to cleanse yourselves first even when you send righteous thoughts. Look at yourself first, and if you discover that you have a problem, take care of it. With that the old forces won't be able to do anything; when they can't find anything to hold against you they will back off. Of course, at the current time even if the old forces want to back off that doesn't cut it--clear them away entirely. After you cleanse yourself when you sit to send righteous thoughts, clear them away." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students." )

Furthermore, in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York" someone asked,

Disciple: In Russia there have recently been several incidents of terrorist attacks on tourists, so a lot of people don't want to hear about the terrorist-style persecution happening in Mainland China.
Teacher: That, too, is a form of interference. It doesn't matter--clarify the truth as you would normally. [The evil] is intent on trying to interfere with you. Don't let it interfere with you, though, and just go on doing what you would normally do. It's hard for the time being, but it won't be hard for long.

Whenever we encounter ordeals or interference, we must first remain mentally unruffled and composed, maintain an unshakable calm, settle down and examine where we had any omissions and eliminate them.

Teacher asked us to ponder soberly. Only after we maintain our calm with a sober mind can we better identify our attachments, and then truly accomplish the three things requested by Teacher. It is my understanding that we should study the Fa calmly, send forth righteous thoughts with pure and focused attention, and clarify the truth intelligently and rationally.
As long as we maintain strong righteous thoughts, follow the requirement of Dafa and Teacher, remember that each one of us is a Dafa practitioner on the path to godhood and ascend from the notions of man, then the "... righteous thoughts display the might of Gods" (1) and the wisdom and divine power endowed us by Dafa will be more than sufficient to dispel any interference.

There are three Falun Gong practitioners working at a day care center in Northeastern China and four retired ones. In order to clarify the truth to their co-workers, they met a couple of times, analyzed every employee's attitude toward Dafa, coordinated with each other and clarified the truth directly to the individuals.
For those co-workers who were deeply poisoned by the evils' lies and against Dafa, they sent two practitioners with some fruit to visit their homes. One practitioner sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors and the other practitioner clarified the truth. It was very effective.
Currently there are over 50 workers in the day care center; from the leaders to the common workers they have all accepted the truth about Dafa. Five people have started to learn Falun Gong and begin their journey of cultivation. The company employees can now talk about Falun Gong in public and the practitioners can openly read the books.
Money Sent to Prisoners Is Saved to Make Truth-clarifying Materials
On December 20^th, 2004, a truth-clarifying material site received 700 yuan. That 700 yuan came from detained practitioners who saved the money that their families sent them to buy daily necessities. They did this even though they were often body searched by prison guards and they also managed to transfer the money safely out. They urged that the money was to be used to make truth-clarifying materials. The detained practitioners told us, "What we are not able to do well inside of prison you must do well outside for us. Treasure your environment, and in the meantime send forth righteous thoughts more to strengthen the detained practitioners."
Practitioners in a Village in Hebei Province Clean Up the Snow to Clarify the Truth
Recently the temperature in many areas of Northern China has dropped extremely low and there has been a lot of heavy snowfall. In a village in Hebei province, after vehicles drove over the snow on the road, it became very slippery and many people fell down. After the practitioners in the village saw this, they spent four days cleaning up all the snow on the streets in the village.
The passersby have all praised the practitioners. Some people turned up their thumbs and said, "Falun Dafa is good!" Even the village officials were deeply moved, continuously saying, "You Falun Gong practitioners are all good people!" All the people on the street talked about how Falun Dafa is good and that those people who practice Falun Gong are good people.
[Note: Falun Dafa cultivation emphasizes guarding virtue, not accumulating virtue. In this story, practitioners used their time to clean up the snow and repair the road, and other things as volunteers. All of this is good; nevertheless, practitioners should not purposely look for good things to do in order to reach a certain goal. From the Fa's standpoint, in order to truly save people, practitioners should tell people the facts about the persecution and about Falun Dafa, and should not rely on only doing good deeds. This is because clarifying the truth is the only way to determine a person's true nature and whether that person can truly be saved or not.]

Falun Gong Practitioners Attend Vietnamese American New Year Celebration (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) On Feb. 6, 2005, a New Year's Celebration event sponsored by Vietnamese Americans was held in Reliant Arena in Houston, a popular activity center with a ten-thousand-people capacity. It was the largest New Year celebration of Asian Americans in Houston.
Falun Gong practitioners' introduction booth attracted a lot of attention among all varieties of programs, including traditional music, lion dance, sports and booths of different groups.

The Falun Gong booth displayed peacefulness in the busy and noisy environment. A "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" banner in English, Chinese and Vietnamese looked refreshing and attracted a lot of attention. Display boards showed both pictures and illustrations. Truth-clarification flyers and VCDs in Vietnamese, Chinese and English were available at the booth. Many people took this opportunity to learn more about Falun Gong and make inquiries about where to learn Falun Gong.
A Falun Gong practitioner said, "I am Vietnamese. I know about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. We are stepping forward to tell Chinese Vietnamese about it because we are also Falun Gong practitioners."
Some people wanted to learn Falun Gong right away. They continued to come and to take materials from the booth. A Falun Gong practitioner said, "It is a great thing they will get from this celebration if they learn about Falun Dafa -- Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Preface
In order to hold a five-day Winter Vacation Teachers' Falun Dafa Study Camp in Shuangfeng Primary School in Taipei County, Falun Gong practitioners in Xidian were busy for quite some time. First, we settled on the venue, and then we arranged the course and contacted the lecturers, and sent out a mailing to the department-in-charge at the Education Bureau. After we got approval, practitioners prepared a notice listing the curriculum, schedule and an application for signing up for the courses. Besides distributing the information to teachers in our school, we also sent the information to other schools nearby. We explained to the persons in charge about the study camp and hoped that the material and the positive message would reach every teacher. Because life education courses benefit everyone, the course was also open to parents and to the general public.
This activity was "a rich feast of human culture and life." Every lecturer related his or her own profession and experiences to their cultivating Falun Dafa. They used their personal experience and other vivid examples to validate the wonderfulness of life, and touched many people's hearts. When learning to practice the Falun Gong exercises, veteran practitioners earnestly offered help and instruction, and new practitioners learned attentively. The whole venue was filled with a pure and peaceful energy field.

Rich and Comprehensive Speeches

Life Education group leader of Xinhe Primary School, Cai Shouren, used himself as an example to illustrate the consequences of being selfish. Before practicing Falun Gong, he taught classes in the daytime and ran a business during the evening. He was occupied with seeking worldly benefits, and eventually his health deteriorated and he owed a lot of debts. Later, as a result of cultivation in Falun Dafa, he regained his health, became broad-minded and kind, and witnessed the power of Falun Dafa in improving people's xinxing. He also realized the true meaning of life.
Professor Zhong Gulan from the Economics Department of Donghai University, discussed how the essence of economy should be based on morality, that is, conducting trade with a conscience. She also explained that if people's hearts conform to the standard of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," then that region will definitely have flourishing trade, an advanced economy, and a rich cultural life.
Ms. Zhou Yixiu, an art teacher at Jian High School talked about being perplexed by some unhealthy phenomena in her academic field and her wrong understanding of love before practicing Falun Gong. Later, under the guidance of Falun Dafa principles, these issues were resolved and she was enlightened to the true meaning of life.
Dentist Shen Kunjin from Taipei, discussed the human immune system and modern medicine's limitation and helplessness in enhancing immunity. He also corrected some wrong notions regarding physical training boosting immunity. Dr. Shen cited experiments made by Feng Lili, MD, from Baylor College of Medicine in the United States, on some Falun Gong practitioners. Dr. Feng's research proved that cultivation can enhance immunity. Even our physical cells conform to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," the principles of Falun Gong.
Li Qingmei, an employee of the Financial Affairs Department at Taiwan Bank, illustrated that modern people try to accumulate as much money and material things as possible in seeking a life of comfort. He said that this is actually a fallacy. The constantly increased desire instead puts so much pressure on people; they get in over their heads, but are unable to pull out, until finally everything becomes a mess, and their life is far from being comfortable. Mr. Li also mentioned that even though he did not suffer much in his childhood, he has always been pursuing the true meaning of life. He said he finally fulfilled his long-cherished wish through cultivating Falun Gong.
Chang Chin-hua, Dean of the graduate school of journalism at Taiwan University, was also a lecturer at the study camp. Her husband studies philosophy and has a clear, logical way of thinking. Before practicing Falun Gong, whenever encountering conflicts, they would argue every detail. And every time, she failed to win an argument, until finally, the situation made her feel disappointed. After practicing Falun Gong, and gradually assimilating to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," such conflicts between her and her husband have been gradually resolved. Also because of her cultivation practice, whenever she encounters an intense conflict with a colleague, she simply maintains her xinxing, and finally the conflicts are amicably settled. The life that has assimilated to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" can resolve everything compassionately. Finally, Professor Chang talked about the Chinese Communist Party and how Jiang's faction is actively framing and persecuting Falun Gong and blocking the truth of the persecution from being known by the public. The media in Taiwan have published some reports about the persecution, but due to the issue of profit involved, such reports are still not comprehensive and in depth.
Professor Chen, who is engaged both in medicine and education, used her own experience of learning about Falun Dafa to point out how the mindset of scholars and experts sometimes prevents them from coming to know Dafa. She believes this is because of the attachment to their own professions, sometimes to the point where they cannot be broadminded and open-minded and accept higher principles. Fortunately, Professor Chen has finally started practicing Falun Dafa, and she has traveled across Taiwan to give several lectures, even while she was pregnant, to help others learn about Falun Dafa.

Mr. Yang: the courses taught during these past few days are really very rich in content! Each speaker gave us a wonderful speech! I also noticed the unselfish contribution of Falun Gong practitioners who came to help. I'm very touched! I'm truly thankful to everyone, thank you!
Mr. Xu: I asked a question during the experience sharing yesterday, and after I returned home, I thought it over and now I'm clear about it now. There was an example in Professor Chen's speech today - she said that people's hearts should not have animosity, so my heart does not have animosity! Regarding the words, "not have animosity," and other things I learned from the study camp and all that I have experienced... I am going to think them over after I return home; I think I will start to experience some changes!
Mr. Chong: I used to practice other qigong practices. From these days' classes, I heard a lot of higher principles, and heard many good things. I also saw your efforts to hold this series of classes. I think this cultivation practice is different! I will cherish it after I return home. Thank you!
Ms. Li: I read Zhuan Falun one or two years ago, but I didn't really get anything out of it. Today, when I picked up the book again, I felt like I had never read it before. I have a good memory, but how could it be like this? It seems that there is something miraculous going on; I will take a copy of Zhuan Falun back home and read it carefully.

Postscript:
Ms. Li went back home and attentively read the first lecture of Zhuan Falun. She then developed a fever for no apparent reason. At first she didn't know why, but after she finished reading Lecture Two, she realized that it was the phenomenon of body purification as described in the book. Shortly after she understood this, the symptoms of fever gradually disappeared. So she decided to make good use of her time and keep on reading. It seems that she has felt the miraculous power of Falun Dafa.
Taiwan: Falun Gong Exercise Demonstration at Annual Holiday Luncheon (Photos)

My company invited guests to give an art performance at this year's holiday luncheon. A special program stood out with its peacefulness and beauty.

The audience was fascinated by the beautiful exercises and the smooth and slow movements. Even the loud dance music coming from another part of the same restaurant couldn't disturb the young practitioners' concentration.

At the end of the demonstration, everyone in the audience rewarded them with warm applause. Many people told the practitioners that their demo was great and unique. Many said, "Falun Dafa is really great! I'd like to learn it too." Some said, "The children who practice Falun Gong look great!"

Gao Cuiying, Deputy Commissioner of Zhangbei County in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, Suffers Karmic Retribution
(Clearwisdom.net) Gao Cuiying, female, 43 years old, was deputy commissioner of Zhangbei County in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. Gao died just three days after beating Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Hao Guimei to death. (See the November 30 report on Ms. Hao's death by torture at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/12/8/55364.html.)
On December 2, 2004, as Gao was returning to the county seat from the rural Xiwan area in Zhangbei County, one of the wheels on her vehicle suddenly fell off. The car rolled over several times. Everyone else suffered only minor injuries, but Gao's head was completely crushed, with parts of her brain spilling out. The bones in her chest and back were also broken.
After taking office as the deputy commissioner in Zhangbei County, Gao was in charge of culture, education and health affairs. While in office, she organized all colleges, middle schools and elementary schools in the county to engage in "anti-[slanderous terms deleted] signature gathering." She ordered students to watch movies that slandered Falun Dafa to poison students of all ages, sowing seeds of hatred in their young minds.
Editor's note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. On December 31, 2003, Xingtai City Qiaodong District Court sentenced Xingtai City, Shahe City and Ren County Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhang Wanshan and Mr. Fu Hutou to nine and seven years of jail respectively. Currently they are both detained in Hebei Province Fengnan City's Nanbao Yanchang Jail.
After these two Falun Dafa practitioners were forced to leave home, they were arrested in Xingtai City at the end of 2002. Afterwards they were illegally detained in Xingtai City First Detention Center for a year before they were sent to court.
2. [Tianjin] Yuan Shouchun Illegally Sentenced to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor
On October 28, 2004, Yuan Shouchun was reported while posting stickers explaining the facts about Falun Dafa. After a month, he was illegally sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor camp.

3. [Shantou, Guangdong Province] Multiple Falun Dafa Practitioners from Chaoyang District Arrested by 610 Office
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Shengli from Gurao Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province was arrested by the 610 Office and injected with unknown drugs in the latter half of November, 2004. This was followed by the arrests of Mr. Li Ruixi from Xilu Town, Chaoyang District, Ms. Chen Suhua (also known as Chan Yanru) from the Agriculture Bureau of Chaoyang District, and a Falun Dafa practitioner from Nanyang Village, Guiyu Town, Chaoyang District. Right now the 610 Office has set up operations in Nanyang Village, Guiyu Town, Chaoyang District and is attempting to persecute other Falun Dafa practitioners in the village.

On November 15, 2004, Mr. Gu Liqiang and Mr. Lei Jiangtao from Jinzhou City, Hebei Province were transferred from Jinzhou City Detention Center to Hebei Province's Jidong Jail. Since they had been forced to do extremely heavy labor during the period they were detained in Jinzhou City Detention Center, their bodies and minds had been severely damaged. They are currently very weak. They have great difficulty remembering anything, and their overall condition is quite poor.
Gu Liqiang is 42 years old and was sentenced to three years of jail. Now he is detained in the Seventh Middle Team of the Fifth Branch of Hebei Province Jidong Jail.
Lei Jiangtao is 25 years old and was sentenced to seven years of jail. He is being detained in the Eighth Middle Team of the Sixth Big Team of the Second Brach of Hebei Province Jidong Jail.
6. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Yan Jingfen Arrested When Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials
Ms. Yan Jingfen from Qingdao is 47 years old. On November 28, 2004, she was arrested by Qingdao City Jinmen Road Police Substation while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Song Guixiang is 50 years old and was arrested on November 30, 2004; Ms. Li Ping is in her 30's and was arrested by Qingdao City Dengzhou Road Police Substation on December 2, 2004 while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Currently these three practitioners are illegally detained in the Qingdao Dashan Detention Center.
7. [Zhang Jiakou, Hebei Province] Li Jun from Wanquan County Arrested and Detained in Baoding Jail
Mr. Li Jun from Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province was arrested and sent to Tangshan Jail secretly on April 16, 2004. Later he was transferred to the First Jail of Hebei Province, the Baoding Jail
After four months of illegal detention and denying family visits, the jail allowed Li Jun's father who is in his 70's, teenage daughter, wife, and sister to see him.

12. [Chongqing] Yuan Qingsheng from Dashiba Area, Jiangbei District Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yuan Qingsheng from Dashiba Area, Jiangbei District, Chongqing City was an employee from the 32nd Workshop of the First Factory Area in Chang'an Company, Chongqing City. He gave a truth-clarifying CD to another employee in his working unit in April 2004. However, that person reported Mr. Yuan, and he was forced to leave home and go from place to place. From that point on, he stayed in Fuling. In May 2004 he was turned in by someone in Fuling and subsequently arrested.
Mr. Chen Wanxin and Ms. Deng Ruhui from Dashiba Area, Jiangbei District, Chongqing City were arrested on November 22, 2004 while distributing truth-clarifying materials.
13. [Beijing] Falun Dafa Practitioners Sun Deli, Gong Bohua and Wang Shugui from Shunyi District Arrested
At the end of September 2004, Mr. Sun Deli, Ms. Wang Shugui and Gong Bohua were taken from their homes and arrested by the National Security Department. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
Sun Deli is 45 years old. Because of practicing Falun Dafa, he was illegally detained for 15 days in July 1999. In March 2000 he was illegally detained again. In July 2000 he was put in a forced labor camp for one year. In January 2002 he was again put in a forced labor camp for two years. On February 1, 2004 he was released. He contracted to harvest eight fields of vegetables, but when it was harvesting season, he was arrested again and his whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ni Guobin Arrested Again
At 8:30 a.m. on December 7, 2004, Mr. Ni Guobin was on his way to work. Suddenly a black car stopped next to him. Four thugs jumped out of the car and beat him up. They then put him into the car.
Ni Guobin had been sentenced to three years of jail for practicing Falun Gong. He was just released not long ago and was again arrested in July 2004. Currently he is detained in Wuhan City's Second Detention Center.
15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Chen Guangyuan Was Arrested Again
Mr. Chen Guangyuan from Xujiapeng, Wuchang District, Wuhan City is 54 years old. At around 5 o'clock on December 4, 2004, two people from the residential committee tricked him into going to the residential committee office, where officials from the Xujiapeng Police Substation abducted him to the Wuchang District Yangyuan Brainwashing Class. Chen Guangyuan was illegally sentenced to four years of jail for practicing Falun Gong.
16. [Guangdong Province] Yangjiang City 610 Office Again Held Brainwashing Class to Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners
At the end of November 2004, the Area Level Yangjiang City 610 Office commanded the County Level Yangchun City 610 Office to hold a brainwashing class again in Shilu Town, Yangchun City in order to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in that area both mentally and physically. On the afternoon of November 21, 2004, Niu Shengbiao, Director of the Political Security Department of Gaoyi County Police Station, led police to break into Ms. Shen Jiumei's home in Beiguan Village, Gaoyi County. They ransacked her home and threw her and her three-year-old child into the car.

18. [Hebei Province] Zhang Xiaoli Illegally Sent to Forced Labor Camp, Police Threaten to Break Her Family Apart
Ms. Zhang Xiaoli from Nanwangzhuang Village, Donglv Township, Qingyuan County, Baoding City, Hebei Province is 42 years old. She was arrested by Director of the Donglv Township Fan Wenzhi and others from home on the evening of September 18 and sent to the Qingyuan County Brainwashing Class. Zhang Xiaoli went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor camp in Baoding City's Balizhuang Labor Camp on November 5. Her hunger strike lasted for over a month and her life is in danger.
Fan Wenzhi attempted to extort 10,000 yuan from Zhang Xiaoli's husband and was turned down. Fan Wenzhi flew into a rage and threatened to arrest Zhang Xiaoli's whole family. One evening in December, 16-year-old Hu Shan, the oldest son of Zhang Xiaoli, was arrested from home and taken to the township government. The officials and police also heavily patrolled the streets of Nanwangzhuang Village in order to try to arrest Zhang Xiaoli's husband.

19. [Inner Mongolia] Yang Chunxiang Forcibly Arrested by Yakeshi 610 Office
Between 5 and 6 p.m. on November 29, 2004, Ms. Yang Chunxiang from Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia was forcibly abducted by 610 Office Director Lin Haiqing and 20 other people. She was put in the local brainwashing class and suffered torture. She wasn't even wearing shoes when she was abducted. Afterwards Yang Chunxiang's home was ransacked by the 610 Office members, who took away truth-clarifying materials, books and banners.
On the evening of November 30, Ms. Zhang Yanrui was forcibly abducted to a local brainwashing class. Currently she is being detained along with Yang Chunxiang and suffering torture.

20. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Fan Jinling from Liaohe Oil Field Drilling Institute Forced to Leave Home Right After Released
Ms. Fan Jinling from the Liaohe Oil Field Drilling Institute returned to work after she was released from a forced labor term. Liu Yan, Zhao Zhengchao and Zhang Hongjun, the leaders in her working unit, tried to force her to write a pledge, threatening that they would send her to a brainwashing class if she refused. Fan Jinling was forced to leave home. Then the leaders of her working unit withheld the bonus of all the employees of the working unit.

21. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Li Guilan Illegally Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Guilan from Jinan City, Shandong Province was distributing truth-clarifying CDs in the market at around 4 p.m. on November 21, 2004. She was followed by plainclothes policemen to Jingqi Road Dormitory of Jinan City Shijin Group. The plainclothes policemen arrested her and took her to the Huaiyin Nanzhuang Police Substation. She was quickly sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor.
Li Guilan once had multiple illnesses, including breast cancer. She regained her health soon after she started to practice Falun Dafa. Right now her parents and mother-in-law are almost 80 years old and need her to look after them.

23. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Zheng Yuqin and Zheng Chunyan from Tangwanghe District Arrested by Police
On the morning of November 23, policeman Li Jianmin broke into Ms. Zheng Yuqin's home and saw a Falun Dafa book on her bed. Just because of this, he took Zheng Yuqin to the Tangwanghe District Hebei Police Substation. At the same time he lied to Zheng Yuqin's family, saying that if they turned in all of their Falun Dafa books, he would release Zheng Yuqin. Zheng Yunqin's family was deceived and found all of the Falun Dafa books in their home and turned them in. The Hebei Police Substation videotaped them turning in the books. On the same afternoon Zheng Yuqin was sent to the Tangwanghe Detention Center.
On the morning of November 23, after Zheng Yuqin was arrested, police also arrested Zheng Chunyan, Zheng Yuqin's younger sister and a teacher at the Tangwanghe District Second Middle School from her workplace and took her to the Tangwanghe District Henan Police Substation. At the same time they set up watch at Zheng Chunyan's home. When her husband got home from work during lunch time, they stormed in and ransacked their home. On the morning of November 24, Zheng Chunyan was sent to Tangwanghe District Police Substation.

27. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Yang Ziren Got out of Yuexiu District Brainwashing Class with Righteous Thoughts
Mr. Yang Ziren from Guangzhou City traveled to Beijing to validate Dafa during January 2001 and was illegally detained. After he was sent back to Guangzhou, the local police and 610 Office sentenced him to one year of forced labor camp. In March 2001 he was sent to Guangzhou City, the First Labor Camp in Chini Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou City and suffered torture there. Around January or February of 2002, his labor camp term expired. However, because he refused to compromise with them, police and 610 officials handcuffed him and directly took him to the Guangzhou City Yuexiu District Brainwashing Class to continue the persecution. On the same night, Yang Ziren got out of the brainwashing class with righteous thoughts but could not go home. Since July 2004, his whereabouts have been unknown.
28. [Huangshi, Hubei Province] Ma Wen Illegally Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Ma Wen from Laoxialu in Huangshi City, Hubei Province was sentenced to two years of forced labor camp not long ago when police broke into his home and wanted to forcibly take away his Falun Dafa books. After this incident was disclosed on the Internet as well as in their city, police abducted him to the Xialu Communist Party School Brainwashing Class and tried to force him to reveal who had disclosed this. Because he refused to cooperate, he was sent to Huangshi City's Second Detention Center to be tortured. Recently it was reported that he was sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Li Baojin from Dakuai Town, Fengquan District, Xinxiang County, Henan Province was arrested by officers from the Xinxiang County Police Station on November 2 when he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. He is being detained in Xinxiang County Detention Center.
30. [Fusong, Jilin Province] Li Zhongyun Illegally Sentenced to Four Years of Forced Labor Camp
Recently, the Fusong County Detention Cetner illegally sentenced Mr. Li Zhongyun to four years of forced labor camp. Li Zhongyun was arrested somewhere else and sent back to the Fusong County Detention Center. Before he was arrested, he had spent the last three years homeless. His wife (also a Falun Gong practitioner) recently was released from Changchun City Heizuzi Women's Labor Camp.
It has been heard recently that Fusong County Labor Camp will send him to labor camp to be tortured.
31. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners from Shenzhen City and One from Hong Kong Illegally Arrested
Mr. Li Jiefu from Shenzhen City is a resident of Xiangmei North Tefa Subdivision of Futian District in Shenzhen city. In November his home was ransacked, and he and his wife were arrested.
Hong Kong resident Mr. Li Jiefu is 50 years old and the Managing Director of the Shenzhen City Tianjian Group. He was arrested on November 19 outside his office building.
Huang Junwei is 27 years old and an employee of Shenzhen University. He was beaten up and arrested at the stadium.
32. [Beijing] Wang Shurong and Lu Qin Arrested
On the afternoon of December 4, Ms. Wang Shurong and Ms. Lu Qin, both over 60 years old and residents of Technical University dorms, were reported and arrested when distributing truth-clarifying materials.
Shortly after 1 a.m. the next morning, the University Residential Committee and Dongsheng Police Substation, as well as the Technical University Dorms Committee, ransacked their homes. They took a big pack of Falun Dafa books from Wang Shurong's home.

36. [Yunnan] Chen Shunying and Chen Fachun from Qiaojia County in Zhaotong Area Arrested
Ms. Chen Shunying is 42 years old and an employee of the Qiaojia County sugar plant. She started to practice Falun Dafa in 1999. At noon of October 22, 2004, she was arrested for posting large truth-clarifying banners. Later her home was ransacked and the police took a copier, a computer, Falun Dafa books, and truth-clarifying materials. Now she is being illegally detained in the Qiaojia County Detention Center and suffering torture. She is not allowed to see her family or anyone else.
Ms. Chen Fachun is 36 years old and an employee of the Qiaojia County Communication Mobile Company. She started to practice Falun Dafa in July 2003. She did the same truth-clarifying work as Chen Shunying and was arrested at a different location. Her home was also ransacked. Police took away her Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. She is also being illegally detained in the Qiaojia County Detention Center and suffering persecution. She is not allowed to see her family or anyone else.
37. [Guizhou Province] Former Employee of Guizhou Province Finance and Economics Institute Liu Shengying Sentenced to Three Years of Jail
Ms. Liu Shengying is 24 years old. She was a student in the coal school, and later she attended the Guizhou Province Finance and Economics Institute. In October 2000, she traveled to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Since then, she has been forced to leave her home to avoid persecution. In March 2003, she was sentenced to three years of jail and detained in the Zhongba Labor Camp. She is currently being forced to do heavy labor.
38. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Lan Shixiang from Xindu Area Arrested
At around 10 a.m. on October 21, Ms. Lan Shixiang from Qingyuan Village, Longhu Town, Xindu Area, Chengdu City was working outside. Someone asked her husband to call her back. After a while, the town government and police substation sent at least six people to arrest her. Lan Shixiang is now being held in the Chengdu City Xinjing Brainwashing Class.

40. [Beijing] Beijing Chemistry University Teacher An Fentian Passed Away
Mr. An Fentian was a faculty member of Beijing Chemistry University. For several years police kept harassing him at his home. He had been arrested and taken to the police substation and detention center. His wife Chen Haifeng (also a faculty member of Beijing Chemistry University) had also been arrested several times and had just come home for 2 years. In October 2004 when they clarified the truth during the National Day period, she was arrested together with An Fentian, leaving their over 80 year-old mother at home alone. Police also ransacked their home. Mrs. Chen was sent to a detention center. Under repeated abuse, An Fentian died of a heart attack in the middle of October.
41. [Nanbu County, Sichuan Province] Two Employees of the Cotton and Linen Company Passed Away under Persecution
Mr. Zhu Qingyu is 74 years old and a retiree of the Sichuan Province Nanbu County Cotton and Linen Company. He started to practice Falun Dafa in 1993 and was the contact person of the local Falun Dafa group. After the persecution, his home was ransacked twice, and he was detained for several days. He was also fined 600 yuan. Afterwards police often harassed him at his home. He was closely monitored and placed under great pressure. He passed away in December 2003 of the lunar calendar.
Mr. Guo Kaichong is 66 years old and a retiree from the Sichuan Province Nanbu County Cotton and Linen Company. Before he retired, he was one of the company's accountants. He started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. After July 20, 1999 his home was ransacked twice. Out of fear he gave up practicing Falun Gong. Soon his old illnesses came back, and he died at the end of 1999.
42. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Over 70-year-old Sui Ruolan Passed Away from Persecution
Ms. Sui Ruolan was 73 years old. Her address was 71 Changping Street, Shahekou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province.
After July 20, 1999, she had been suffering long-term harassment from the police of the Shahekou District Xinggong Street Police Substation and the Street Residential Committee, as well as from neighbors. In March 2003 police officers Xing, Sun, Liu and others ransacked her home and arrested her. She was sent to the Dalian City Yaojia Detention Center. They refused to take her when the jail doctor saw that she had no blood pressure. After she was sent home, the police and Street Residential Committee still watched and harassed her. Ms. Sui died on March 18, 2004.
43. [Honghu, Hubei Province] Dai Jianming Died as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Dai Jianming was 28 years old and from Honghu Hubei Province. He passed away on October 27, 2004 as a result of persecution.
Dai Jianming started to practice Falun Gong at the end of 1997. He graduated from Hunan Province Changsha Architecture Institute. In 2001 he was arrested and sent to the Wuhan Qingling Detention Center, where he was illegally detained for nine months. He suffered severe persecution, and his health declined drastically. He died on October 27, 2004.
44. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Chen Huiying Passed Away as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Chen Huiying was 62 years old and a resident of the Fuchun Subdivision of Dandong City, Liaoning Province. She started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. Chen Huiying had multiple diseases like congenital heart disease, stomach problems, gynecological problems, and brain and nervous system diseases. She could not take care of herself before taking up the practice. After she practiced Falun Gong, she completely recovered and her weight increased from less than 90 lbs to over 130 lbs. Her neighbors saw this and were amazed.
After July 20, 1999, in order to speak up for Falun Gong, she went out to practice the exercises publicly and appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. She was arrested three times, detained in a detention center once, and held at the police substation twice. Afterwards, police often harassed her and put her into brainwashing classes. She was forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution. As a result of the abuse she suffered, her old diseases came back and she died on February 22, 2004.

1. The Brutality in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City
To the practitioners who refused to perform labor, wear prison uniforms or openly practiced Falun Gong exercises, Chief Tian of the forced labor camp ordered guards to tie them to the Death Bed. Some practitioners were unable to walk by themselves after being untied from the Death Bed. The guards force-fed practitioners who were on hunger strikes, and even used a special tool to pry open the practitioners' mouths, and left the tools in the practitioners' mouths for a long time. The practitioners were also injected with drugs.
In 2003, the First Team violently tortured practitioners who had been forced to yield but later returned to cultivation. The persecutors used electric batons to shock the sensitive parts of female practitioners' bodies, including their breasts and private parts. Many practitioners were unable to take the torture and were finally forced to give in again. In 2004, the authorities received documents from the Provincial Public Security Bureau to extend the terms for the determined practitioners, including Sun Xiaoqiu, Wang Yilin, and Chen Jinhui, etc. Chen Jinhui is short and thin. She had been tied to the Death Bed twice. Her weight dropped from 70 some-odd pounds to somewhere in the 60s. Guard Bi Mingming ordered doctor Guo to open Chen's mouth using a mouth-opener, which caused her horrible pain.

2. Ms. Yang Suyun from Cuihuangkou Town of Tianjin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Yang Suyun is a practitioner from Zhaozhuang Village, East Cuihuangkou Town, Wuqing District of Tianjin. On May 26, 2004, while she was posting Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Donghengtou Village, East Dakoutun Town of Baodi District, officers from Dakoutun Police Station arrested her and transferred her to Baodi Detention Center. On January 4, 2005, Baodi District Court sentenced her to three years in prison. At her first court appearance, her family members didn't recognize her because she was so seriously injured from torture. Currently, only Yang's young child and her over 80-year-old grandmother are at home.

3. Police from Qicun Police Station of Shahe City, Hebei Province Ransack People's Houses and Beat a Child
On the night of January 19, 2005, police officers Gao Jinchao, Shen Shengmin, along with four other officers from the Qicun Police Station of Shahe City, Hebei Province, broke into practitioner Yang Aiying's house twice. They threatened and harassed the family. A policeman used a stick to beat a 13 or 14-year-old child. The child's arms were injured and became swollen. The policeman did not want to let the child go. However, the neighbors became angry and scolded him. A short time later the policemen had to leave. I was learned that Chief Wang Long of the Public Security Bureau directly arranged the police action that night.

4. Xilinhaote City Detention Center in Inner Mongolia Tortures Practitioners
On January 1, 2005, seven practitioners, including Zhao Suqin, Zhang Junqing, Liu Runxian, and Yang Jinli from Taipusi Qi of Inner Mongolia, Liang Yuhua from Xuanhua of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, another female practitioner, and a practitioner from Zhengxiangbai Qi of Inner Mongolia, went to visit practitioner Duan Songping who was being detained at the Huhehaote City Women's Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia. The police abducted the seven practitioners at the forced labor camp. Zhao Suqin' hands were cuffed behind her back in the "carrying a sword in the back" position, which is very painful. Yang Jinlin was brutally beaten up. The plain-clothes police officers beat the practitioners, causing their bodies' to become black and blue, and some practitioners were unable to walk. On January 3, the National Security Brigade of Ximeng Public Security Bureau of Inner Mongolia escorted them back and detained them in Xilinhaote City Detention Center. The practitioner from Zhengxiangbai Qi of Inner Mongolia was tortured to the point of heart failure, and her life is in danger. She was released on January 14. Yang Jinli was tortured to the point where she was unable to walk and was also released on January 14, after money was extorted from her. The police attempted to extort money from Liu Runxian's family but they firmly refused to pay. On January 18th, the police released Liu Runxian. On January 14, Zhao Suqin was so brutally tortured that her body was cramped up for more than fifteen minutes, her face was distorted and she vomited. Her body was paralyzed from the waist down and she become incontinent. Currently Zhao Suqin, Zhan Junqing, Liang Yuhua and another female practitioner are still being detained at Xilinhaote City Detention Center in Inner Mongolia. The National Security Brigade wanted to sentence Zhang Junqing to forced labor.

5. The Persecution of Practitioner Zhang Guangcai from Shahe City, Hebei Province
Mr. Zhang Guangcai, 44, is a practitioner from Shahe City, Hebei Province. He opened a dental clinic in Shahe City. Because he practices Falun Gong, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor in Handan Forced Labor Camp. On February 10, 2002, when torturing Zhang Guangcai, police officer Wang Xusheng kicked Zhang's left side. Zhang fell and remained on the ground. The pain made him unable to breathe. Several days later, his wound worsened. Another practitioner detained in the same cell went on a hunger strike to protest the ill treatment of Zhang. After a physical examination, Zhang was found to have two ribs broken from the kick. Zhang was later released from the labor camp.
On the afternoon of June 6, 2004, the police abducted Zhang's wife, Ms. Zhang Xingfang, from her home. Police officer Yu Shuping transferred Zhang Guangcai to Shahe City Pubic Security Bureau. There he was cuffed to the Iron Chair and deprived of sleep. To protest the persecution, he refused to eat. On June 14, Zhang was sent to Xingtai Brainwashing Center. The persecutors there deprived him of sleep, force-fed him, and beat and tortured him. Under this physical and mental torture, Zhang was at the edge of mental collapse. The persecutors took the chance to deceive him into agreeing to give up the practice of Falun Gong. When Zhang later realized that he gave up the practice against his will, he told the perpetrators that he was determined to continue practicing Falun Gong. For that, Qiu Youlin tortured him by force-feeding. Zhang was tortured until he became like a skeleton. At the same time, his wife was detained in Shahe City Detention Center for three months. Their son, who was to take a college entrance examination in a few days, was taken away by the police, and their house was ransacked. The family was later released.
On the afternoon of December 24, 2004, a group of persecutors broke into Zhang's clinic, abducted his wife, and sent Zhang Guangcai to Xingtai Brainwashing Center again. They cuffed him in a painful position known as "Carrying a Sword in the Back" and used electric batons to shock him. Zhang Guangcai's wrist was injured. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and he was later force-fed. After he was released, Zhang had difficulty in breathing, felt pain all over his body, and his left ribs were painful. He was later sent to a hospital for an exam that found his lung was seriously injured, and two of his ribs were broken again (his old wounds from the forced labor camp). Since then, Zhang's health has deteriorated. He is short of breath, coughing, unable to lie down on his back, and has difficulty sleeping. His wife is currently in Xingtai Brainwashing Center.

6. The Persecution of Ms. Yang Zai from Zhanjiang
Ms. Yang Zai is a practitioner from Yangqing Town, Suixi County, Zhanjiang City of Guangdong Province. The local police and 610 Office have abducted and detained her many times. She had been detained at Suixi Detention Center, Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp, Suixi Brainwashing Center, and Zhanjiang Brainwashing Center, where she suffered tremendously. The perpetrators brutally tortured her, deprived her of sleep, attempted to brainwash her, subjected her to fierce beatings and forced feedings etc.

7. The Criminal Acts of Gao Yibin from Anzhai Town Police Station at Quzhou County, Handan City
Anzhai Town Police in Quzhou County, Handan City, Hebei Province actively persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The police chief, Gao Yibin is the one most responsible. He leads others to ransack practitioners' houses, and abduct, detain and extort money from practitioners. Many practitioners have been forced to leave their homes, and many families have been broken up. Elderly people and children constantly live with this horror.

8. The Account of Criminals' Actions in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province
(a) Fu Yanchun of the Wuchang City 610 Office wantonly persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. Since the persecution started on July 20, 1999, in the pursuit of personal gain, Fu Yanchun has been involved in abductions, beatings, and extortion of practitioners. His methods of torturing practitioners are extremely cruel. He slaps and kicks practitioners, forces them to squat down, and stand without moving. He handcuffs and ties up practitioners, and uses electric batons on them. Fu Yanchun put bars on the windows of the third floor of the Seeds Company's building, and set up an illegal private court to torture practitioners.
(b) Director Zhu Xianfu of the 610 Office held many brainwashing sessions to persecute practitioners. He ordered Fu Yanchun and Jing Ji to torture practitioners and extort money from them. Over 100 practitioners have suffered in the brainwashing center. Some practitioners from Harbin City, Bing County, Shangzhi and other areas were sent there and were subjected to torture. The practitioners were injured and disabled from the torture.
(c) Jing Ji is a female in her 20s working at the 610 Office. She worked directly for the director, Zhu Xianfu, and became the deputy head of the brainwashing center. She slapped one practitioner 20 times continuously and cursed at practitioners without control.
(d) The head of the National Security Brigade of Wuchang City Public Security Bureau, Wang Jiye, worked with the 610 Office in plotting and performing the abduction and detention of practitioners. He personally went to practitioners' homes to harass and abduct practitioners. He even beat up a woman in her 50s. Since June 2004, Wuchang City has detained over 20 practitioners, and many other practitioners have been forced into homelessness.
