Tang Hanglin, Surviving Son of Practitioner Mr. Tang Jianping from Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province, Lives in Hardship

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tang Jianping from Weiyuan County in Neijiang City, Sichuan Province died on August 28, 2002 at the age of 29 as a result of brutal persecution at the Mianyang Forced Labor Camp, leaving behind his 3-year-old son Tang Hanglin.

Tang Hanglin is enrolled at the Xijie Elementary School in Weiyuan County. He is being raised by his paternal grandfather and grandmother, both of whom have long been laid off from their jobs. They are having a hard time making a living and rely on the support of relatives, friends and Falun Dafa practitioners. Mr. Tang Jianping's wife, Ms. Wang Huaying, was forced into a divorce by the local police. In addition, she has been dismissed from her job and is not able to raise her son.

Mr. Tang Jianping was an employee of the Tianfu Brick Factory in Weiyuan County. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1995. After the suppression started on July 20, 1999, Mr. Tang was taken into custody six times. While he was in custody, the police instigated over a dozen inmates to beat him until he passed out. He was then doused with cold water until he regained consciousness. The inmates inserted a toothbrush into his rectum and rotated it until he started bleeding. They held him on the ground and pulled out all his pubic hair, and struck him between his eyebrows continuously with the middle finger until a blood blister formed. He was also forced to eat food and cigarette butts off the ground. Mr. Tang suffered extreme mental and physical abuse. His internal organs, including lungs, intestines, stomach, suffered severe damage, and there was serious internal bleeding. He was denied medical treatment and sent to the Mianyang Forced Labor Camp for further torture. In the labor camp, Mr. Tang's internal injuries worsened. His chest and lower abdomen became swollen and he could not walk, eat or drink. The labor camp authorities notified his family and allowed them to take him home only when he started to vomit blood and have bloody urine and stools frequently. His family borrowed money from all available sources to pay for his medical treatment, to no avail. Mr. Tang Jianping died on August 28, 2002 while vomitting blood. He was only 29 years old.
