Finland: Activities in Helsinki to Raise Awareness of the Persecution (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 6 and 7, 2005, Dafa practitioners in Finland held a two-day activity in Helsinki. This activity included a peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Consulate, activities to promote Falun Gong and raise awareness about the persecution, and a group study of the Falun Dafa teachings together in the evenings.

Appealing outside the Chinese Consulate

Despite the fact that March is upon us, it was still freezing and snow was on the ground. On the 6th, Falun Gong practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and peacefully appealed at the Chinese Consulate, calling for an end to the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of people who follow Falun Gong's principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". The number of documented deaths from persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China has reached 1455 whilst the undocumented figure is thought to be closer to 10,000. The call to stop the persecution comes from deep within the heart of every Falun Gong practitioner, their relatives and friends, and kind-hearted people from all over the world.

As practitioners were giving out leaflets at the train station, one man immediately said, "I know, there are no human rights in China. I support you." As we gave our hand-made paper lotus flowers to children and their parents and grandparents, we saw their expressions of gratitude and we felt more strongly the responsibilities Falun Gong practitioners have. We will work harder to expose what is happening in China and awaken the world's people to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
