Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, from Nanpi County, Hebei Province, Died as a Result of Persecution in 2001

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuzhen was 62 years old and a resident of Nanpi County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. Perpetrators from the village, town, and county level tortured her numerous times. Suffering from persecution that included illegal arrests, extortion, having her home ransacked, and police intimidation, Ms. Wang died on August 5, 2001.

Ms. Wang Xiuzhen lived in Zhangguantun Village, Baoguantun Town in Nanpi County. She started to practice Falun Dafa in March of 1998. Before that, she suffered a chronic cough and had difficulty breathing. As a result, she was bedridden and could not perform any type of work. She spent a lot of money to find relief for her condition, but doctors could not improve her condition. She suffered much from her ailment and contemplated suicide. Half a year after she started to practice Falun Dafa, however, she completely recovered from her illnesses and could perform some household chores. During that period, she did not have to take any medicine or spend more money on getting medical treatment. The miracle she experienced from Falun Dafa brought happiness to her family again, and many of her family members and friends also started to practice.

After the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20, 1999, persecutors from the Village Party Committee and Township Government continuously harassed Ms. Wang. In January 2001, police from the Nanpi County Police Department arrested her and many other practitioners and illegally detained them. During her detention, the police viciously tortured her and extorted 6,500 yuan from her and her husband. Ms. Wang was released on January 23, 2001.

After that, perpetrators from the village, town, and county level often went to Ms. Wang's home and harassed her, trying to force her to write the Three Statements and get her fingerprints. Township Party Secretary Bian Jiang, Township Governor Wang Yazhi, and Chu Junhua and Wang Changhong, two government officials in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners; Village Party Secretary Xin Yifang, Village Governor Chi Chunyi, and Security and Protection Director Yan Yixin cooperated with some thugs and confiscated Ms. Wang's TV, audiotape player and other materials when she refused to write the guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Dafa.

After suffering much persecution, Ms. Wang Xiuzhen passed away under duress on August 5, 2001.
