He also tortured practitioners using methods such as having practitioners sit on tires, grabbing their hair and striking their heads against the wall, and putting handcuffs and shackles on them. Some practitioners have been handcuffed and shackled for as long as sixteen days.

Now Huang Dingshan has been diagnosed with late stage liver cancer.

Shan Chengqiang was the assistant director of Hailin detention center. He has ruthlessly tortured Dafa practitioners using methods that include beating practitioners, forcing them to stand up for a long time as punishment and using various instruments to physically torture them. For example, Wang Fang, who was tortured to death later, was once beaten on the soles of her feet with plastic tubing, causing excruciating pain. In December when the weather was very cold, he poured cold water on practitioner Lin Chunzi in the yard of the detention center, causing her feet to freeze to the ground.

In the fall of 2004, Shan Chengqiang was jailed for his involvement in a fraud case.

Li Xiaofu was the director of the Hailin City second detention center. He held a hostile attitude toward Dafa and often insulted Teacher and Dafa. He brutally tortured Dafa practitioners. All practitioners detained there were ruthlessly beaten, tortured, humiliated and insulted by him. He was eventually fired for his involvement in a criminal case.
