Chinese in UK: "From the Words, 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance,' I Know that Falun Gong is Good"

(Clearwisdom.net) "From the words, 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance,' I know that Falun Gong is good." This is what a middle-aged Chinese couple told practitioners when they saw our truth-clarification activity last weekend.

On Saturday March 12, London Falun Gong practitioners went to Wood Green, a busy area in north London, and held an activity outside the Wood Green Library. During the event, a middle-aged Chinese couple stopped by the site. They carefully looked at our posters and anti-torture pictures, and they also asked for all types of leaflets and video-CDs. They started a very long conversation with a practitioner. The gentleman said, "I've heard of Falun Gong and I also know that the Chinese Government doesn't allow people to practice Falun Gong. Although I don't know about Falun Gong in detail, from the words, 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance,' I know that Falun Gong is good. Maybe that's why there are so many people practicing the exercises. If Falun Gong is really like what the Chinese government says, then the practice wouldn't need to be persecuted by the government and would disappear completely by itself. As so many people practice it, however, there must be something good in the practice."

The practitioner told the couple about Falun Gong, discussed Falun Gong's basic cultivation principles, the physical and spiritual benefits which Falun Gong can give people and the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong. After looking at our anti-torture pictures, the gentleman sighed and said with emotion, "I just can't believe that there are still inhumane things like this happening today in the 21st Century!" The practitioner said that he didn't want to believe it either, "...but the persecution has really happened, and is continuing." When the practitioner talked about how the Chinese government used lies to deceive the public, taking advantage of China's state-run media to slander Falun Gong and incite people's hatred towards the practice, the gentleman said, "This, I know too well. This is called condemning and accusing at will with fabricated evidence! Do you know what I used to do? Ten years ago I worked in the Xinhua News Agency. I was a Xinhua News reporter."

Finally, this gentleman showed great interest in learning Falun Gong. A practitioner there gave thus gave him a copy of the book, Zhuan Falun as a gift.
