(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Cui Xiaoping, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Leshan City, Sichuan Province, was sentenced to six years in prison after the police arrested her on December 14, 2004. Ms. Cui protested by going on a hunger strike. At present, she is in critical condition at the Yangmahe Hospital. She is so weak that she cannot speak.

On December 14, 2004, the police arrested Ms. Cui Xiaoping and detained her at the Yangmahe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Janyang City. This time, she was arrested just for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa, for requesting in a letter to return to work and for submitting an appeal letter on behalf of Falun Dafa. Ignoring judicial procedures and without any legal basis, the Central District Court in Leshan City sentenced her to six years in prison. The Leshan City Committee had once threatened Ms. Cui, saying, "As soon as Falun Gong shows any hint of disturbance or trouble, we will begin to suppress it, beginning with Cui Xiaoping."

Ms. Cui was formerly the volunteer contact person for the Falun Dafa group in Leshan City. Many times over the past few years, she has been illegally sentenced to prison, to a forced labor camp and to detention centers.

In August 2004, Ms. Cui held a hunger strike for over twenty days while enduring severe torture. She was as thin as a skeleton since her weight had dropped from 154 lbs. (70 kg) down to about 60 lbs. (30 kg). Her entire body was black with bruises from brutal beatings. Both the 610 Office and the police thought that she would surely die. After an outcry from her family members, her parents were finally allowed to take her home. Later, a court hearing was scheduled for the purpose of sentencing her to prison. Each time a trial was attempted, however, the effort failed, due to the effect of Falun Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts.

Ms. Cui has been on a hunger strike since December 14, 2004, and is presently at the Yangmahe Hospital, too weak even to speak. Both the monitoring and medical personnel have been shaking their heads and saying, "She is dying."
