United Kingdom: Media and Public Support the First Anti-Torture Exhibition in Belfast (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 4th and 5th, in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, Falun Gong practitioners from Scotland, England and Ireland held an anti-torture exhibition to expose the Chinese Communist regime's severe persecution of Falun Gong. The event drew great attention from local people and media.

Before holding the exhibition, practitioners sent out an invitation letter to all UK MPs (Members of Parliament), MEPs (Members of the European Parliament), libraries, police stations, city councilors and some other non-governmental organizations.

On March 4th, the Belfast Telegraph newspaper introduced the anti-torture exhibition information. The practitioners held the anti-torture exhibition in a small square in Belfast's city center and the weather was very cold. Passersby were all astonished while watching the simulation of the brutal methods of torture employed by the Chinese Communist Party in cruel attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief.

During the exhibition, journalists from two media organizations came to report on the event. A female reporter from the BBC interviewed the practitioner who played the role of a persecution victim and the practitioner who organized the activity. She was attracted by the exercise music and the practitioners explained to her the characteristics of the exercises and the benefits they had received from practicing them.

During these extraordinarily cold two days, the practitioners distributed more than five thousand leaflets, newspapers and Video-CDs, in both English and Chinese.
