Children Left Motherless by the Death of Practitioner Xiao Yali in Heilongjiang Province (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xiao Yali was a resident of Dongfa Village in
Zhoujiazhen Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. On March 6, 2004, she
died in the Shuangcheng City No. 2 Detention Center as a result of brutal
force-feeding. (Such brutal force-feeding was by no means intended to improve
Xiao Yali's health or provide her with food, but rather administered as a method
of torture.) Two six-year-old children were left behind. The boy's name is Sun
Ri, and the girl's name is Sun Yue. Both children are now living with their
grandparents. Ms. Xiao's husband Sun Wancai is in poor physical health and has
tuberculosis. He now owes nearly 10,000 yuan in medical expenses. Photo of Sun Yue and Sun Ri At around 4 p.m. on February 28, 2004, Li Yuesheng from the Zhoujiazhen Town
Government and Guo Fujun from the Zhoujiazhen Town Police Station, together with
another five people, went to Ms. Xiao's home and ransacked it. Around 7 p.m. on
that day, about eight people went to Ms. Xiao's home again, including the
Township Political and Judicial Committee Director Gao Jinpeng, the police
station's Deputy Director Bai, and the Township Government officers Hu Zongshen
and Li Yuesheng. They arrested Xiao Yali and took her to the police station.
They then illegally detained her at the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. At
about 6:40 p.m. on March 6, Ms. Xiao's family received a phone call, asking them
to bring money to the emergency room to cover Ms. Xiao's "medical
expenses," even though she had been very healthy and not ill at all. Ten
minutes later the detention center called again, saying it would be fine to come
either on that day or on the following day. At that point, Ms. Xiao was already
dead. That evening, more than 20 of Ms. Xiao's family members went to the
detention center, but they were not allowed to see the body until the following
day. There were round scars on Xiao's forehead and swollen areas on the right
side of her back. Her hands were badly injured and purple. Her mouth was also
severely swollen. It was a horrifying scene! The police wanted to cremate the
body immediately, but the 20 plus family members strongly disagreed. On March
13, her body was cremated against the family's wishes. According to a staff
member from the detention center, Doctor Wang (his full name might be Wang
Shiyuan) from Division 3 of Shuangcheng Hospital was directly involved in the
force-feeding. February 20, 2005
