Cases of Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners from Qishan Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wu Xinfang, 34 years old, lives in Dabozi Village of Qishan Town. In July 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The vice director of the Qishan Police Station confiscated 200 yuan from her family, offering no receipt. On November 16, 1999 when Ms. Wu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong again, the Qishan Police Station illegally detained her for 18 days. Once again the police forced her family to pay a 1500 yuan fine, but didn't give them a receipt. On February 16, 2000 the supervisor of the Armed Forces Department, along with his followers, abducted Ms. Wu to the police station and detained her for 34 days. The director of the Qishan Police Station forced her family to pay a 300 yuan fine.

Mr. Li Yitang, 64 years old, lives in Zhougezhuang Village of Qishan Town. On October 25, 2000 when he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, he was detained in the Qishan Police Station. The police forced his family to pay a 2000 yuan fine.

On October 18, 2000 Ms. Shan Shulan, 54 years old, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained in the local police station (Qishan). The police forced her family to pay a 3500 yuan fine without issuing a receipt. In the fall of 2003, she was abducted to a brainwashing center for 17 days by officials from the local government of Linglong Town in Zhaoyuan City.

Ms. Li Cuijuan, 51 years old, was detained in the Dawujia Police Station for 8 days. She had to pay a 2200 yuan fine. She was also forced to undergo brainwashing for 7 weeks straight.

Ms. Sun Junhong, 41 years old, lives in Dabo Village of Qishan Town. In July 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Then the director of the Police Station of Qishan Town forced her to pay a 200 yuan fine without giving her a receipt. On November 16, 1999, Sun Junhong again went to Beijing where the Qishan Police detained her for 16 days and confiscated a 1700 yuan fine without issuing a receipt. On February 16, 2000, she was transferred back to Qishan Town and her detention continued. The director of the Qishan Police Station and the director of the Armed Forces Department forced her family to pay a 200 yuan fine without a receipt.

Ms. Duan Shuying, 60 years old, lives in Zhougezhuang Village, Qishan Town. In July 1999, when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, Wang Fuwen, a policeman from Qishan Town, took 100 yuan from her. In the winter of 1999, because she and other practitioners practiced Falun Gong at her home, the director of the Police Station of Qishan Town confiscated a 1000 yuan fine without issuing a receipt. On February 12, 2000, because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, the police detained her for over 40 days and confiscated a 2000 yuan from her family without a receipt. In September 2000, the vice-director of the Police Station of Qishan Town abducted and detained her for 9 days. On October 25, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The director of the police station confiscated a 2000 yuan fine from her family without issuing a receipt and detained her for over one month. In the fall of 2003, she was forced to undergo brainwashing for 9 days in Linglong Brainwashing Center of Zhaoyuan City. She was forced to pay 5150 yuan and was detained for 88 days altogether.
