Two Elderly Practitioners from Heilongjiang and Liaoning Provinces Died from the Persecution after Petitioning in Beijing

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Du Jinhai, 84 years old, was from Heilongjiang Province, Jiamusi City. He began practicing Falun Dafa in November 1998. In November of 2001, he traveled to Beijing to hold a banner and to tell people about the goodness of Falun Dafa. He was illegally arrested and taken back to Huachuan County by agents from the Huachuan County 610 Office. They forced his family to pay 3,000 yuan, which they deducted from his son's salary without asking permission. They also unlawfully searched Mr. Du's home and arrested his son, whom they illegally sentenced to two years of "reeducation" through forced labor. This was the second time Mr. Du's son was sentenced. This time around, officials from the local Songjiang Township 610 Office frequently threatened, intimidated, and harassed his family. At the labor camp, Mr. Du's son was brutally tortured until he lost consciousness. Du Jinhai's wife, 78-year-old Li Fengqin, was mentally devastated by the relentless persecution of her family. She could no longer bear the mental torture and harassment, and passed away on December 8, 2003. On February 20, 2004, not long after his wife's death, Du Jinhai also passed away.

Xue Yuhong, 62 year old, was a Dafa practitioner from Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. After the persecution began, Ms. Xue was illegally arrested on September 10, 1999, because she was practicing the Falun Gong exercises outdoors. Ms. Xue was unlawfully detained in a detention center for over a month. In mid-July of 2000, Xue Yuhong went to Beijing to validate the Fa and was illegally arrested and taken to Fushun City Labor Re-education Center. After a month, the authorities took her to Shenyang City's Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and sentenced her to one and a half years in the labor camp. She was released one week after her sentence was served. After Ms. Xue returned home from the labor camp, officials involved in the persecution frequently came to her home to harass her. On September 9, 2002, the police forced Ms. Xue into a vehicle and took her to the Fushun City Shuncheng District brainwashing class. She suffered there for 21 days. After her return home, the police came again to Ms. Xue's home many times to harass and persecute her, which put her under severe stress and pain. Ms. Xue Yuhong passed away on April 15, 2004.
