After My Husband's Serious Illness is Cured by Practicing Falun Dafa, I Am Persecuted for Persisting in My Belief

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Jiang Deyuan. I am 53 years old, from Capital Township of Huili County in Sichuan Province. My husband is a retired worker from the Huili Nickel Mine. Five years ago he suffered from liver cancer, uremia, and acute myelitis with paralysis in the legs. I spent all of our savings earned from the family business to get medical treatment for him, but with no effect at all. Finally, Falun Gong practitioners told us about Falun Dafa, "If you follow 'Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance' as taught by the Teacher to elevate your moral standards, and you do the exercises, your diseases will leave by themselves."

My husband was diligent in practicing Falun Dafa, having suffered enough from illnesses, and gradually he became a healthy person. I started the practice myself in June 1999, having witnessed the power and wonders of Falun Dafa. During the first month, I gave up smoking and drinking, and felt amazingly light in spirit and happy.

On July 28, 2002, I went to the nickel mine seeking to buy an old house. There I told several friends about my experiences of practicing Falun Dafa, but someone reported me to the police. At noon on July 30, 2002, six security officers from the mine approached me. They deceived me into going to the Limahe Police Station, using an excuse about my husband's health, and detained me there. They wanted to know if I posted the many Dafa truth-clarifying materials around the mine area during the night of July 29. I said that I had posted one of them. They detained me until 4:30 p.m. and then transferred me to the Drug Addict Center, where I was brutally beaten by the guards. Later I was locked up with the drug addicts and criminal inmates.

On August 1, they moved me to a detention center, where two police officers, Zhang and Zhou, interrogated me. After Zhang asked many questions about me, Zhou took over. I had been on a hunger strike since July 30, and I told him I did not want to talk. Zhou became angry and whipped me viciously until he was exhausted. Zhou ordered a male criminal to put a 30 kilogram (66 lb.) shackle on me, but was stopped by someone standing nearby. In the detention center, I went on a hunger strike for ten days in protest. They ordered a detainee, who did not have any medical certification and had caused the death of another patient, to inject unknown drugs into me. The drugs caused my hands to swell up as soon as it was injected. They tortured me from 6:00 p.m. until after midnight. On the second day, they ordered my family to sign a paper and pay 1000 yuan before they would release me.

I wrote this article to tell people that Falun Dafa saved my family. Falun Dafa is good and righteous. I hope that more people can benefit through practicing Falun Dafa.
